I have somewhat mixed feelings about the clinic. The usual veterinarian that my pet cat saw was quite nice and knowledgeable. However, the last time we went there to diagnose my cat's hyperactive thyroid, a different vet came to talk to me about our options. We decided to try a pill for a few weeks, recheck his blood chemistry, and go from there. Two weeks later, my cat was vomiting uncontrollably, and the OSU Emergency Internal Veterinarian said that he started my underweight cat on the highest dose of the medicine. Also, from what they said (and I confirmed by reading online), it is more customary to slowly work up to a full dose, whereas the Banfield vet had me start immediately at the highest dose. I am now slightly wary about anything they tell me, and if I hadn't bought the Wellness plan for the second year, I would be going elsewhere.I would recommend this vet if your cat isn't afraid of dogs (there are lots in the store, as you can imagine) and if you think you may go to the vet several times of year (office visits are free). However, for more serious conditions, I would look to experts elsewhere or prepare to do a lot of extra research (they don't give you any information that you don't ask).

I've considered purchasing actual insurance for my dog too, because it's true this plan won't actually pay for anything, just provide discounts and convenience. The Wellness Plan makes a lot of sense for puppies, but may not end up saving that much for adult animals who have already been spayed or neutered. You'll just have to do the math based on other vet visits. I've done the math for my own situation, and the Plan worked out GREAT for me and my puppy, who is now over two years old. I love not having to pay for office visits, comprehensive exams, or regular shots, and I do get a discount on whatever meds/services she does need. It saved me a good amount of money on her spay surgery.

The very first day I walked in Banfield not only was the staff very friendly, they were very informative. I'm 36 years old and never grew up with a pet. If they did not take the time to tell me what to do, when to do and how to do, I would have never given my dog Tiko the proper care he needs. I like the "Wellness Plan" because you do save a few bucks and you are always informed what vaccines are needed, dental care, and medications are due. Most of the time, for as many questions or concerns I have, I should be charged just for the vital information I need and receive. My dog has had around 4 surgeries and each time, yes I worry about him but I know he is in good hands. I thank God for guiding Dr. Kolb and staff into my life. I always recommend Banfield to my work staff and my parents at my center(pre-school) .

The vets and nurses/aides at this location are very nice and professional, and their hours are very convenient and flexible. But I do not like the "Wellness Plan" that they offer and try to sell to you. They make it seem like a sort of insurance, but what you're really doing is pre-paying for anything that goes wrong, and even though you are paying out the nose (and you have to sign a contract), it has a very small limit of what it covers and how much.

I visited the Easton location of Banfield hospital last month. The pets are treated special and the staf fseems to get to know famlies that visit the clinic. I was impressed by the folow up call after my two dogs received immunizations. The staff were attentive. There is a great dela of educational material posted throughout the clinic--in the wiating areas and in the exam rooms. The vet assistant when over each of the immunizations that were recommended for my dogs--explained the pros and cons and pricing. This was helpful and allowed me to plan based upon my budget. Parking is ample. There are two entrances--one within the PetSmart it is attached to and one directly to the clinic. Recommended
