On a whim, my mother and I decided to try Honey Diner last night. My mother ordered 2 Chili Dogs with sauce and cheese and I ordered a New York Strip, rare. They first brought out only my mother's order which sort of resembled hot dogs, but looked more like someone had taken hot dogs and covered them in cooking grease. Five minutes later they brought out my "steak" which I had ordered rare but received medium well. I sent mine back. My mother continued to try and eat her meal but the buns on the hot dogs were so over soaked with "something" that they fell apart in her hands. She likened the taste to the hot dogs served in vending machines at hospitals. After a while the waitress brought out my new "steak" which was cooked as ordered but required a chain saw to cut. The taste was only mildly preferable to that of canned dog food, and to be honest I wouldn't have served the slop Honey Diner cooked to my dog. Neither my mother nor I finished our meals. We paid the check and left. We will not be back.
