I Really thought that this would be a job i had and loved for a very long time, however Doc's is now out of business. We were building a great cliental, word was getting out there, great food, beyond fun waitstaff, but the manager JIM CONWAY ran it into the dirt by verbally abusing the staff, cheating on everything from paychecks to food costs. He ruined something that could have been "hot spot" in Portland for a long time. He is a sad man and a compulsive liar from being a sociopath. Sorry everyone.

We hope this place makes it. We really do. Doc George's has so much going for it: Great music. Good food. Great little happy hour. Some of the best jazz in town, at times. It deserves to last.
But oh, the service! Each time I have

Cajun dishes that take me back to the many great meals had in New Orleans. The gumbo is amazing, the etouffee is terrific. We've been twice and both times heard very good jazz and left talking about how great the experience was. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Alameda is very lucky to have Doc G's on it's strip. Can't wait to check out Ron Steen's jam there on Thursday nights!

What a wonder place. Friendly, fast service with great food. The live music is lovely and the atmosphere is very nice.

What a terrific addition to the Alameda Neighborhood!

No minors allowed after 4:00 is a plus (no disruptive children or screaming babies) so you can actually enjoy the music!
