in case you are planning a surprise like i was....be sure to tell them! ask them to put a notein their computer. let me tell you why. i planned a surprise for my fiance, a couples massage.we've been before and it really was very nice. now i was the one that called and made the apt. i did not know i was expected to tell them it was a surprise. Anyway,... they callled and confirmed the apt with me AND him. yes, they ruined my surprise. not to mention when i called, the little girl did NOT even apologize. she just said there were no notes in the computer. NOT MY FAULT. Needless to say, I was even more peeved by her lack of professionalism and unapologetic attitude. im just putting this out there so in case you are planning to do something nice for the one you love and surprise them, be sure you tell them when you call and make your apt. so your surprise is not ruined like mine was.

I love this place! Meghan gives the best manicure and pedicure in town and she is a sweetheart. Sarah is hands down the best massage I have ever had in my life (and I've had lots!) she listens to your needs and will rock your face off! Be sure to get there early to enjoy their steam room or linger after to enjoy it... you can also shower and their bathroom is well stocked so you feel like a champ when you leave. I find the negative reviews sad because I have had nothing but totally positive experiences there!

Cons: I wish I could go more often!

If you are looking for a spa experience that you will not leave feeling disappointed.. you have looked into the right place. Take it from a 10 year spa connoisseur, I have been to MANY spas in Nashville and around the world, and this is by far one of the most authentic, personal place I have been. The staff really cares about the clients and they do not rush you through just to make money. They are obviously very selective about hiring the best in the field. I received a massage form Jamie and I was absolutely amazed, he has the perfect firm, flowing pressure without being painful, very talented and intuitive ( you can tell that he enjoys providing massage rather than just considering it a way to make money). A true massage artist. I left feeling like I had been on a relaxing vacation. Consider the source for the negative reviews, I can't even imagine someone feeling this way when they leave Escape. Absolutely wonderful, proud to have such an authentic "escape" in Nashville. A++

Spaces is, without a doubt, the worst salon experience I've ever had. I had an appointment for a simple highlight that took OVER SEVEN HOURS. During this time the woman coloring my hair saw three other clients, one of whose hair she started after my color was already washed--meaning I sat for 45 minutes with wet hair.

After she finally finished drying my hair, she gave no apologies but explained that she had been really busy and that if I wanted she would run through my thick hair with her thinning shears??which took two minutes, and left my hair choppy and unbalanced.

When I finally left to pay I was surprised to see I was charged for a haircut. I politely explained to the receptionist that there was a mistake??I had only had a highlight??so she went to confront my hairdresser. When my ??stylist? was asked about the situation she boldly and flatly LIED saying she had given me a full cut. I asked to speak to the manager who simply ridiculed me, saying it would have been impossible for me to have been there since 11am for a simple highlight as it was well past 5pm. When she looked at the appointment time and saw that I had been there seven hours she simply shrugged and told me there would be no ??discount? on my nonexistent ??haircut.? I was truly, unbelievably shocked, and so knocked off my feet by the whole situation that I ended up paying and leaving, spending over $200 to go home and cry.

I have never written a bad review for anything online, I have never asked for my money back, I would not make this up??it was as absolutely unreal and horrifying as it sounds and I cannot believe this place is still in business.

I will never go back to Spaces??it was an absolute nightmare. There are too many great places in Nashville to waste another second on this WASTE of space.

My skin was burned during a lip waxing over a year ago, and I have been seeking treatment at my own expense since that time. I have spoken with the owner on several occasions, and she has never apologized. I even requested my money to be refunded, and she has refused. Tammy, the owner, is very difficult to contact and claims that she receives 200 phone calls a day. I am unclear about why a spa owner would receive 200 phone calls a day. Nevertheless, this is why she is unable to return my calls in a timely manner.

I have been going to Escape for a couple of years and I LOVE it! It is hands down the best spa in Nashville. I have been to most of the spas here and I have been to several out of state, and this place is really great!! Everyone is very professional and very attentive. I've gone with friends, with my mom and alone. I always leave refreshed and relaxed. I hesitate to leave names of who I've seen because each treatment has been wonderful. The only thing I haven't had done there is my hair - maybe I'll do that soon! Also, I love the skin care lines they carry.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I went in to find out more about facial products that will help me perfect my skin because I am so vain and the experience was excellent. I was greeted at least 5 seconds of coming in by Sasha , who is so knowledgable about the products.
She really broke it down and explained everything to me and didnt even try to upsell me ... The enviroment was very peepy yet relaxing with spa water , and the employees look like they take excellent care of their skin... so everything there really matches up with their image. .I ended up by 2 things and spending over my budget but I wasnt mad about it . I left excited , and I have enjoyed using the products that was recommended.... hey if your looking for a place to invest in your skin and you dont have the knowledge this is the place to go... by the way ask for sasha .. she is great!!!!!

A.K. gives the best massage I've ever had-Ever! The overall setting was unbelievably tranquil and serene. It was like a little slice of heaven! It was exactly what I needed, to get away from the stress of reality and unwind. I will recommend Escape to everyone.

I love escape spa so much. I have been three times. first for a pedicure and the other times for a pedicure and massage. I am in my 20's and I have never felt looked down upon or uneasy in this spa. The spa manager is always helpful. Even the first time I went when I was only getting a pedicure I was told I could put on a robe and relax in the waiting room. I am always offered a beverage and snack. Everyone is so friendly and just really wants you to relax. The only thing I am not crazy about is the mixed steam room. It was kinda weird when this older man came in and my friend had her top off! We had no idea it was mixed.

I was given a gift certificate for a deep tissue massage and looked forward to experiencing this talked about day spa. My first impression was cold and hard atmosphere. The locker room was weird and uncomfortable.. very small area to change wheich is hard when there are 2-3 people trying to get dressed/undressed and lockers were difficult to use. I have had many massages over the years and this was the worst I've ever had. The therapist was very nice but she wasted time and put very little effort in her massage. It was very disappointed.

I'm a pamper/massage craver who's tried out most of the biggest and best spas in town, but I always end up coming back to Escape. It's THAT amazing---whoever actually wrote below that this place is 'pretentious' or loudly into promoting celeb clientele must be on some hardcore substances, because I can attest as a regular customer there that Escape has always treated myself and other patrons there with equal attention and respect, not to mention very friendly and courteous service to boot. Going to Escape is always a wonderful and relaxing event, and every person I've brought there with me agrees as well!

This place is as state of the art and efficient as some of LA and NYC's finest spas to boot---not only is the decor and design beautifully feng shui((best relaxation room in town; enjoy the starry ceiling and fountain while lying atop a mod couch as you sip away at sweet water and complimentary wine)), but the staff is always extremely friendly and knowledgable about products and procedures. They're obviously happy to be there, and it shows.

If there's one service there I especially recommend, it would be their duo massage...it bl0ws the one at Adagio spa out of the water! Literally, considering my boyfriend and I enjoyed this service there twice in its gorgeously lit main room with a tub bubbling in the middle that you both soak in after your massages...just a heavenly way to end what I assure anyone will be a heavenly spa visit...

If you're looking for simple spa treatments, go elsewhere---if you're looking for the ultimate spa experience, go to Escape. And then do yourself a favor and have some feel-good wine tastings at The Grape next door!

About me: 30 something, professional, realist, usually do not 'indulge' myself at spas very often, in fact not at all.

I had to go to Escape without appointment because other salon, Illusion, messed up my appointment (should I say desk staff have totally careless attitude)

Regina at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Martha-Marie did my waxing treatment and Nikki did my manicure/pedicure. They were very friendly, professional and I did not see any 'attitude' at all.

To the comments below regarding celebrities. Let's face it A listers have a chance to see the best and they know the best. We are not talking about being celebrity struck here (I am not at all) but I like to know that I can indulge myself at one of the best spas in Nashville. And I was treated just as well as if I would be a celebrity! Nobody looked down on me because I was not Mrs. X. As long as all reasonable clients treated with professionalism and respect, I see no harm mentioning celebrity names. Think how you would be if you would be a salon owner.

Thank you ladies for making me feel rejuvenated!

Escape Day Spa was wonderful!! I went with 6 other friends for an all day treatment. We were treated wonderful. We were given time to relax with each other and just be girls. We had a wonderful lunch in a room just to ourselves. I would recommend this place to anyone and we girls are going back again for an all day treatment in just 2 weeks and I can't wait!!!!

I can only think that the negative comments regarding this spa are coming from the competition. I've been to Escape twice now, and both times I was treated like a queen. I never heard any other clients being discussed, and never a loud voice in the place. Please don't be turned away by jealous competitors. Come in and see for yourself. You will be in for a treat!

I visited this spa last week and had the best facial I've ever had and I'm an aesthetician!
Lilly was fantastic! So very through and professional I was simply amazed! I live in Destin, Florida where I think the best spas are, but Escape spa can't be beat!

Thank you...I can't wait to return!

i'm a spa junkie and i quite like this place. the staff has been wonderful and lily is the best facialist in town. i like the feeling that has been created here. it is top notch. fabian gives the best haircut in town, flying in from nyc for 3 days every 3 weeks.

Although this place IS very, very lovely, I've always been taught that beauty's only skin deep. This place is very superficial. Who cares that Nicole Kidman is a client? When I go to a spa, I go for me. I don't care who else is there, and when I went, the staff MORE than insinuated that she's a client. Well, she probably lives out there. If she lived on Hillsboro Road she'd probably go somewhere out there. My massage was good, not the best, but good. But I will NEVER go back. I've been to spas all across this country, and one thing I've learned is the staff is best when they're not bragging. These people should know how to behave in a more tasteful way, before Ms. Kidman is one of only a few clients they'll have left.

When I moved to Nashville from California I was worried that I would have a hard time trying to find a place like Escape. I was treated like I was the only client there even though there were quite a few people being ushered to and from treatment rooms. To finish my day off , I showered and went upstairs to the salon where I got my hair styled. But to my surprise, who was sitting next to me having her hair done? Only one of the most stunning women in film and Nashville! The nice thing about it all was that, I watched how people were treating her only to find that they treated me the same! Not only did my hair look awesome, but because I used the Kerastase shampoo and conditioner, it felt great! I've been to some other so-called day spas here in Nashville and found that not only did they look like thrift stores packed with so much "retail" that you couldn't tell where the front desk was, but the service was horrible. I'm glad that I stumbled on to this hidden treasure.

What a wonderful spa! I felt so completely tranquil and serene from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The staff was very professional and could not have been more kind and courteous. The relaxation room with the "night sky" is truly something to see. I've received numerous massages and facials from other salons and can honestly say this was by far my favorite. Ask for the tour.

I was so looking forward to my day at the spa but what i found was an owner with a very loud mouth. While I was trying to relax in my massage I kept hearing a loud speaking voice in the hallway right outside the door. Come to find out when I got out of my massage that it was the owner of the spa herself. I also thought it was very pretentious to hear her along with some of the staff talking about Nicole (no last name needed) being one of the clients. Who cares? As anyone new too town im sure she doesnt know the better places to go yet, but she will. I must say the spa was beautiful but I would never recommend it. There are so many other yet smaller places around Nashville with a much better staff and a more peaceful enviornment.

This place was wonderful! I scheduled an all-day spa day, arriving at 8:30 AM on a Friday and staying until 4:00 PM. From the moment I arrived I was treated like a queen -- ME, a normal stay-at-home mom, an average Jane. These people gave me personalized attention every moment. The spa manager was at my beck and call, even personally serving my lunch (mouthwatering brie quesadillas w/fresh fruit and a salad -- yum!). They had trouble that day with the pipes (leaving them with no hot water), but they upgraded my body scrub to include pricey personalized aromatherapy oils AND upgraded my facial and pedicure AS WELL AS giving me credit to come back again for a free Vichy Shower Sugar Scrub ($120 value). Tip: Ask for Jennifer Williams, an aesthetician with class and warmth, for your facial and body scrub.

just to let you know if you are concerned with confidentiality...Escape claims it is very confidential, but it is not. i was very disappointed to learn after specifically asking about their policy that the staff had been talking and friends of mine let me know that i had been discussed as a client there. i know there are a lot of important people who go there that, for their privacy, do not want their daily activities known. it is hard to find trustworthy businesses here and so far Escape has demonstrated that they are not very trustworthy. i would suggest staying away from this business.

just to let you know if you are concerned with confidentiality...Escape claims it is very confidential, but it is not. i was very disappointed to learn after specifically asking about their policy that the staff had been talking and friends of mine let me know that i had been discussed as a client there. i know there are a lot of important people who go there that, for their privacy, do not want their daily activities known. it is hard to find trustworthy businesses here and so far Escape has demonstrated that they are not very trustworthy. i would suggest staying away from this business.

Pros: parking, relaxing

Cons: privacy, pricing
