I Just moved to Nashville from Tucson, AZ from where there is a drought. My bill is $49 a month for a small 2 bedroom home!? I live next to old Hickory Lake, do we have a water shortage? I was paying at most during the tucson summer $19 and I had a garden and plants. I'll put water pump running to the lake for free :)

The water "service" is run by a bunch of tin pot mandarin bureaucrats whose concept of customer service is to be condescending, ill humored and without any sense of tact. And an important lesson to be learned, unlike other more civilized cities and water services if you forget to pay your water bill they will not give you a courtesy call before shutting off your water, they'll just shut it off and then charge you 50 dollars to turn it back on.

Pros: Their phone number works

Cons: Tin pot mandarin bureaucrats

I AM OUTRAGED!

Metro Water Services is discontinuing it's sprinkler credit adjustment on your water bill.

This is as bad as stealing. They will be charging you for something you are not using.

During the hot summer months you used to get a sprinkler credit adjustment on your bill for water used that did not go into the sewer system. It still baffles me that this isn't a year round adjustment on your bill as I am a landscaper and water my property year round as needed.
What difference does it make what month of the year it is when I am watering my landscaping. If that water is soaking into the ground and not going through the sewer system, I should not be charged for it. Basically you will be paying a sewer charge for water that you used to water your garden, water your lawn, water your landscaping or wash your car.

It's possible to have a second water meter installed for an irrigation system if you have the $.
The estimated cost from Metro Water Services for a second meter run to an irrigation system is $1,500.00 to $2,500.00

I am considering speaking with an attorney, gathering local support and suing Metro Water Services over this issue.
