they only care about money and as a birth father they do not take legal steps to get the children! I was told my hilds mother had a abortion to 6 weeks ago find out i have a son and now they are saying no sorry you have no rights, well kinda funny that today a judge told me I did and they will be giving me bak my son in a few days!!!!!! no thanks to them....they also think because they have a ton of money they can do what ever they want, if you are going to use them DO NOT! my babys mother had a bad experence aswell she was told she would get into trouble if she did not do it after part of her medical was paid by them! which after i got my lawyer today is NOT true just like every thing else that was said to her and the docs that they use are not even legal some of the things they do beware!!!!!

Currently, I an intern at Gladney and I am so thankful for this experience becuase I have been able to see, first hand, the hard work and extreme dedication on behalf of the case workers here for their clients. The staff at Gladney believe in what they are doing and they fight to advocate on behalf of their clients. Gladney has had over 120 years experience connecting and serving families, and supporting young girls who choose to give the gift of life to their children. As I look to adopt myself in the future, I know that Gladney will be at the top of my list!

I agree, Gladney is very dishonest and only has two things they are worried about, money and the appearance of having a clean reputation! Our birthmother found us on her own when Gladney wasn't able to present her any couples that met her interests. She tried to leave Gladney to complete an adoption with us privately but was coerced into staying with Gladney by them telling her how bad it was for adoptive couples to use a facillitator agency and how a private adoption isn't in her best interest because that is using just lawyers and they don't provide any support. Which was not true, we were willing to pay for all kinds of support. She was 100% wanting to adopt privately with us until they coerced her in these manipulative ways. Gladney told her that we could complete the adoption as an independent adoption if we would just come on board. We showed them our completed home study and they said no problems and gave us a fee that they said also included legal and counseling. We found out later that our finalization legal fees would be an extra 1300. and the counseling was also additional because they travel to meet birthmom! Even though we had already paid our agency 14,000 and prepared to pay 6500 to complete it privately we felt that we might lose her if we didn't join Gladney. So we did. Big mistake! Even though we already had a completed and approved home study, they required us to pay an additional 750. to review and update it which was actually them making us start all over with a new one. After jumping through all of these hoops and taking our money, we were not approved by Gladney (3 weeks before due date) because of past misdemeanors on hubbies background check, even though our caseworker (who was great) approved us! And we had already been approved by the state, a facillitator and another agency! We had even told our birthmom about the misdemeanors and she didnt understand why Gladney wouldn't proceed. In the end our birthmom left Gladney to complete the adoption privately but this was a horrifying and stressful situation. To top it all off our family has given Edna Gladney a large amount of money as charity over the years. Our family name is on one of their plaques! Unbelievable.

VERY BAD CHOICE! Gladney behaves unethically to the point of lying in the court of law. It just sickens me. Birth parents beware! I put my child up for adoption through Gladney and then found out the hard way how ruthless Gladney really is. If you are thinking of doing the same, DON'T!!!!! Gladney is one of those organizations that gets away with anything because they have more money than you.

Adopting here is very expensive. The sliding fee scale does not go downward very far and moves upward very high. This would have cost us $39,000-50,000. Not an option for us. I have a problem with these "fees" for taking a child and caring for it for a lifetime.

Whether you are someone looking for a child or someone looking to have someone else raise your child, this is the place to receive help. They are understanding and willing to help both sides to happy adoption.
