We have been to several birthday parties and had one of our own here. The staff always goes out of their way to help.

Since the recent change in management at AMF Alpha lanes I have seen drastic changes in service levels and over-all customer satisfaction. By no means are they where they need to be to compete with what the future of the entertainment industry has to hold, but they are on their way. Let me tell ya what I know!

The majority of AMF establishments that I have studied over the past have almost all catered to one type of worker; "easy to find". This produces a multitude of problems in the workplace. A few I have noticed predominantly consist of anything from poor service on the lanes, to theft of company property (vast amounts in some cases). I'm sure one would ask "But how can they expect a professional work ethic/environment when they only pay them minimum wage???" Well, with the economy the way it is everyone who has work should feel the need to prove themselves to keep it! The fact is, there are certain standards that AMF is supposed to be holding their employees to, but due to a very high turn-over rate and some big-wigs making decisions that greatly hinder the hiring processes, it is becoming more and more of a struggle to hold the employees to these standards. Just think about it, District is putting pressure on the GM to keep employees, use employee incentives and keep them employed. GM lets employee get away with a little here and there, and then everyone knows what happens after that. I know of at least 2 instances when an AMF center has "riffed" an ENTIRE staff to bring the center back from turmoil.

Needless to say, AMF is in the business for short-term profit, and you will most-likely not see too many AMF centers in 6-10 years. The new "Money-Maker" for AMF is the 300 Center; look them up, they look nothing like the regular centers around the nation. They almost went bankrupt a few years back and actually sold all the centers over-seas. Look forward to that happening in the US in the near future; small business owners will eventually catch on and take control, hopefully looking for the long-term investment rather than making up for a pointless loss due to negligence and pocket-lining.

Hope I have helped everyone to see through the facade you may visit from time to time. Just keep these facts in mind on your next visit!
