I would give this company zero stars if possible. This is the worst experience with a moving company I've ever had. An employee named Paul took my information about sizing, amount of furniture to move and location and informed me that Tim would be back in touch with me. Tim called back confirmed my move and suggested if I could be flexible on a date, he'd give me a great deal. He did indeed and was eager to book the job that day. When I called back to clarify details and confirm the move date, I was told there was no way he could do the move for the quoted amount and that I must have given him false information with his original quote because there was NO way he could go so low (the amount by the way he said was normal when he was offering the good deal originally). When I told him this had all been passed along to his company in the past, he decided to hang up on me. When I called back to ask if he truly just hung up on me and who the owner of the business is to report such nonsense behavior, he said yes, he did hang up on me and HE IS THE OWNER. If that is what you consider customer service or a person with a mild temper that you'd like handling your valuables, feel free to give these overcharging, unorganized, unresponsive idiots your business. I for one would pay 3 times as much to give my business to someone who understands customer service and the value of their word. May luck be on the side of the fool who books with them.

Wow, I have read some of these reviews and I am shocked. My family had a big move to plan, and these guys really made it simple. We thought the pricing was completely fair, and all of our furniture and belongings arrived in in the same condition as when they left. The guys were friendly and honest. We will use them again.

Pros: Dependable, fast, easy move

Cons: Honestly none.

If you want your things undamaged, or for that matter if you want all of your belongings DO NOT hire these destructive thieves. Bonded and insured? HA! They won't even file an insurance claim, much less pay for damages. If you have a problem with these movers you will have to sue.

I have used these guys several times... A move from Houston, then moving into my new house here in Austin, and even to move some cedar decking that I ordered online and was sent to the loading docks near the airport (They saved me $500 on that deal, by paying them instead of curbside delivery from the decking company). In fact, one of the bundles broke loose, so they could not just have it forklifted into the truck like I told them would be the case. They had to do it all by hand and took an extra hour, even though this was the loading dock's fault. The guys never complained, and just got the job done. I have referred them to others and they have all been very happy..

I have read reviews about people saying they overcharged; but I also see that people writing these had underestimated. We tend to think we don't have that much stuff, but we always have more than we thought. I recommend that everyone discuss in detail what is being moved when getting a quote - that is what I did and it works out fine.. Experienced movers like these guys will tell you an accurate amount, if you give them good info. If you cut corners and 'guestimate', then you are taking on the risk of yourself. People hate to blame themselves, but you have to be fair and accurate to help forums like this.

Pros: Provide a good service at a price regular people can afford

I'm glad I didn't read the last two reviews before booking my move with Heart of Texas because I had a great experience with them. Not only was the hourly rate better than other companies I talked to, but they actually beat their time estimate by half an hour, saving me money! And as far as customer service goes, I was actually 20 minutes late to the walk-through with the sales rep and he waited. The movers were also on time and very courteous--they were careful with my stuff and made sure that everything was where I wanted it when they unloaded. I'll definitely use Heart of Texas again if I have another move and suggest the same for anyone else!

I read some of the other reviews and find that this company consistently overcharges. In my case the final bill was more than twice the estimate. My bill wasn't that big but I was quoted $164 and since I was a referral (from someone who had not used the service yet and has cancelled after hearing of my experience) they said they wouldn't charge the fuel charge. There were a few pieces, not much, extra that I could have fit in my truck, but the movers said to tip them extra and not to worry about it. When they left they said the fee would be $200 for extra time. I was OK with that, but when I checked my bank statement, they had charged $305 in addition to a large $50 tip in cash that I gave to the movers for the extra stuff they said I wouldn't be charged for. When I called to see why, the guy starts calling me dude, interrupting me and yelling saying he's not scared of me, and he shouldn't have been because in no way did I threaten him. He was very defensive probably because he has had to make up for so many lies.

Pros: Only one piece of furniture messed up

Cons: Outright lying about fees,

First of all these people where horrible movers. They were late to begin with, secondly they under estimated the weight of my move. They didnt have enough room on the truck. They damaged my furniture and didnt try to repair it. They sent diffrent guys the second time around who didnt even know how to put my bed back together. overall horrible movers... I recommend no one to use these people. Thats why there prices are so cheap... You pay for what you get

I recently had a long-distance move from Austin, Texas, to Athens, Texas, and could not be more satisfied. Everyone that I dealt with was professional and help ease my fears...especially when it came to moving my piano. I highly recommend Heart of Texas. Not only did the move go smoothly (with nothing damaged), but their price was very reasonable.

In general my experience with Heart of Texas Moving was ok, a 3 on the 1-to-5 scale this website presents. Paul appears to run the outfit and showed up to give me a quote albeit about 20-30 minutes late. This was a problem and worthy of mention because I was taking time from work to meet him and he knew that, yet he was late. So factor that in. His quote was accurate insofar as I wasn't charged for anything "extra" when the actual movers came to take delivery of the items that were to be moved. The two guys who did the actual moving were nice and in exchange for their kindness on the delivery end (where I would not be present) I took them to Rudy's for some barbeque. They were friendly and my mother (for whom the move was procured) reported that they treated her well (without a cash tip). So I thank those two guys sincerely and would recommend them specifically (wish I could remember their rnames) without hesitation.

My real issue with this process lies directly with the head-cheese, to use the vernacular, and how he operates the business. There are two areas of complaint are 1) Excessive pricing 2) Improper billing. I had received an over-the-phone quote from a guy named Phil for $1495 to move a 3000 pound load. After Paul came and looked at our items in person, he estimated it to be 1500 pounds (HALF). This move was to Wichita Falls, TEXAS and they co-joined my stuff with someone else's who was moving to Dallas. So you'd think that the price would be reduced considerably based on these two factors. Nope. The final price was $1325. Excessive. The second complaint was with the billing. This procedure was very informal, which in and of itself was ok, but I requested that a receipt and a final invoice be mailed to me for my records. As of over a week later, I am still waiting, eventhough Paul claims to have already mailed them.

So be prepared for some unprofessionalism but if you get the two guys I got to do the actual moving, you should be ok.

Cons: Poor business management, excessive pricing

I highly suggest you find someone else to move you. These guys are all a group of friends who seem to not care what they damage or who they inconvenience. They overcharged me and they ruined some of my items and so far they have not accepted responsibility for it. They arrived 1 hour late and the ramp to their truck was broken and they did not have tools to take items apart as promised. For their downfalls, they charged me.

Cons: Destructive, Irresponsible, Untimely, Dishonest

Heart of Texas did a great job for my local move. They showed up on time, were careful with my valuables, and moved me that day. I highly recommend their services and will use them again.
