My time at AMLI South Shore has been so bad that I've been compelled enough to keep a blog of my experiences here so that hopefully someone else doesn't end up in the same situation that I am in. You can read it

I live on the East side of the complex. My place overlooks the pool. If I want to talk on the phone I have to (not kidding) hang out of my window. One day I noticed that three or four other people were on their phones on their balconies. So it's the same thing for a large percentage of the units.\n\nHere's the thing, it's an easy fix. I talked with the local AT&T rep and he told me about signal boosters that cost about $500 a piece. If they installed a couple of them around the pool area everything would be fixed. I thought for sure AMLI or AT&T would just pay for it and go on with life. No dice. Neither of them wants to pay, and they're just pointing the finger at each other.\n\nI've let management know about it. The first time I was in there someone said that ""no one as ever complained about cell service before and that I should consider getting a land line."" I approached them again and they said that they're talking with corporate about getting it fixed. It's been maybe two months since my initial complaint. I've brought it up with them at least three maybe four times. Still nothing.\n\nAMLI should pay the token 2-3k so people can talk on their phones. Just look at their marketing language. ""When you live at AMLI, you'll have more time to live life because AMLI makes living worry-free."" Wow. I can't use my cell phone.\n\nI finally took the time to post today because I was hanging out my window talking with my dad, who has just returned from Europe after six weeks, when a leaf blower started work right beneath me. So I couldn't talk to my dad at all. I had to walk out to the street and call him back.\n\nIf you take a tour of South Shore, keep checking your service on your cell. Maybe you'll get a unit that has service.

We've lived there for a few months and it was nice in the beginning. We live above the pool. About a month ago 4 different apartments around the pool were rented to a group of friends that came from Mexico to go to school here in Austin. I'm guessing their parents are wealthy businessmen because they drive Maserati's, range rovers, etc. I have never seen such obnoxious people in my life. On the 16th of September (Mexican Independence) they partied outside on their echoing balcony from midnight until 830am in the morning. They were screaming and laughing like they lived in the country side with no neighbors. Security and the police did nothing at all even though there was a group of us who called all night long. Sadly, they do this a couple of times a week. The police will go out there and fine them $300 but they don't care, they have money. These people have no respect for anyone and the apartment complex is not doing anything at all worth while. Everyone who lives around the pool has had enough and we have collectively consulted an attorney to figure out how to get out of our lease if this doesn't stop. It's one thing to make noise during the weekend or during the day, we live by the pool and expect that. It's another thing to be woken up at 3am on a Tuesday by some rowdy college foreign kids. We pay close to $2,000 a month for our place and this crap shouldn't be happening. DON'T MOVE HERE!!!! IT'S RIDICULOUSLY TOO LOUD NOW!!! If the apartment complex does something about the noise I'll update this post. If not, I'll tell you about the MASS EXODUS that's about to occur.

We were one of the first people who moved here and have been here over a year. We have had everything go wrong here that you can imagine. We have the 2BR lady bird unit, First our A/C keeps the master bedroom warmer by 8-10 than the rest of your apartment. Sorry no fix for that. Our sinks have leaked, our neighbors dogs bark all through the night our car has been robbed, cockroaches, (which I've NEVER had). I have even had people try to open our door in the middle of night. One night I had a college kid throw a beer bottle off his patio to try and hit me while I was out walking my dog. The list goes on and on. The service guys that are here are responsive and that's about the only positive thing I will say.\n\nI never write reviews but I want people to be warned. If you are a working class professional and want peaceful safe living environment it's NOT HERE. Location to Downtown is great but you are in a very bad area. When our car was broken into the supposed ""SECURE GARAGE"" the police officer told my fiance to never walk our dog at night outside. She said you are asking for trouble it's only a matter of time before something will happen to you. But don't take my word just look online at the crime in this area. This is like a big college dorm and everyone that I have talk to around us is moving out when their lease ends.\n\nThe only quiet side seems to the side facing downtown and the lake. I hear the mosquitoes on that side are awful so leaving your patio door open and enjoying it is highly unlikely.\n\nThis is a very corporately run community that strictly cares about profits, even after all the issues we have experienced they just care about making money not their tenants. There is a reason why this place is not even close to full. So even with our bad experiences management has refused to work with us. As we are in the process of buying a house we needed to extend our lease 3 months to avoid having to move twice. They said that they have rules and that we would have to pay $700 per month more than what we are paying now. just to stay (Seriously???) We handed in our 60 day notice and no one has even rented our apartment yet but they want $700 more per month extra.....What do you think?\n\nI am a very professional person that is in sales and one that puts my customers first. Not here they just want the money in your wallet. Just look at the parking situation here. If you want a spot close to a door you have to pay $25 per month for it. If you decide to still move in here DO IT if there's any available which I doubt. Because If you think you can come home after 7pm with your groceries and have a chance of getting a spot close to a door good luck. We were lucky being here early we got a reserved spot next to our door. This place is garbage it is so cheaply built you can hear your neighbors, everything that happens in the hallways and in the driveway.\n\nSpend the couple extra hundred $ per month and get a nicer place in in a better building in a nicer area.
