No complaints at all about the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo, Texas!!! We stayed with 2 small children, my wife and my elderly parents. Everyone enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, the indoor pool and the incredible breakfast buffet (which was better than most we have experienced at other "chain" hotels). Even better was the "staycation" package that we booked. It included two children's meal at the TGI Friday that is connected to the hotel.

The Ambassador Hotel also had the friendliest and most professional staff that I have ever encountered, and I travel for business every week, even though this trip was strictly for pleasure with my family. The 2 guestrooms we stayed in were immaculately clean and very well kept. Each had all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The free high speed internet was definitely a plus and not always received these days.

The value was excellent and the location is just right. We were close to area restaurants and a short drive to Palo Duro Canyon, a great discovery center, and Cadillac Ranch. Of course, my parents enjoyed visiting Historic Route 66. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone heading to Amarillo, Texas.

We??ve had enough of this staycation stuff, we just had to pack up and get out of town. So my husband and I decided to take our two kids to Texas in our version of the Griswald??s Family Vacation. One of our stops was at the lovely Ambassador Hotel located in Amarillo. We couldn??t have been happier with our stay. Being a little road tired we checked in and let the kids swim in their great indoor pool. We loved that the hotel had a TGI Friday??s, it was just right for this family of four. After dinner, the kids took another dip in the pool. The front desk staff took great care of us, and offered suggestions for area activities that our kiddos would enjoy. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and they have the best cooked-to-order pancakes! The rooms are very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the hotel is well maintained. The manager and all the staff obviously care about the hotel and the guests that occupy it. The Ambassador Hotel is truly southern hospitality at its finest ?? and in little ??ole Amarillo. Who would have guessed!

We are a family with two children, ages 5 & 7 and have stayed at the Ambassador Hotel many times through the years. In Amarillo, by far this is the best bet. During our stays the rooms have always been clean and nicely decorated. Even before they remodeled a few years back the rooms were nice. Beds are comfortable and it??s a great place to call home while in Amarillo.

Our children love staying at the Ambassador, and actually look forward to stopping here on our way to New Mexico. Swimming in the indoor pool is the highlight of their trip. Service is excellent. Made service is reliable, and the check-in staff are very friendly.

The breakfast buffet is the best that we??ve ever had in a hotel. The items are fresh and the made to order omelet??s and pancake are a huge hit. The buffet has something for everyone!

We feel that we can always count on the Ambassador Hotel for a pleasant stay.

Stayed at the Ambassador Hotel-Amarillo when I went to visit my daughter at college. She and two friends came and stayed with me, and all were pleased. Arrived about 10 pm on Friday night and was greeted very warmly by the staff. Knowing I would need a room large enough for four, I booked one of the suites that are located on their Concierge Level. Our suite was very spacious and well-appointed. The girls had a separate bedroom with double beds and we so enjoyed having a separate living area to hang out in. One evening we decided to stay in, watch movies, and order room service. It is my understanding that the TGI Friday??s at the hotel takes care of their room service orders. They did a great job and we were all full and happy.
We ate breakfast at Heritage Park and it was wonderful. The cooked-to-order omelet was fresh and delicious, as were the other bountiful selections. Visits to the fitness center were a must after indulging at breakfast. The girls loved the fitness center and indoor whirlpool.

Both mornings we encountered housekeeping staff as we walked to breakfast and they were very cheerful and friendly.

The Ambassador Hotel is outstanding, and the location is convenient to the airport. Next time I visit, I will not need to rent a car because they offer a free shuttle from the airport.

With three years left of college, you can guess where I??m going to stay when I come back to Amarillo to visit my daughter-The Ambassador Hotel!

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel twice in July, and many times in the past with my work. I think the furnishings in the rooms had a re-vamp recently, but I have not experienced most of the complaints listed in earlier reviews at this hotel. The rooms are large and well lit if you have outside windows. Some rooms overlook the indoor 5 story atrium containing the lobby, hotel restraunt and pool so those can be a little dim without room lights on. The beds are comfortable with good linens, and the desk/chairs/TV/AC are all of average to above average hotel quality. The bathrooms are small but clean and well stocked. I actually have had one instance of a slow tub drain here but I have also had that experience at many other hotels. The staff is friendly and helpful and the Fridays Restraunt attached to hotel has good food and a nice bar area. The workout room by the pool has pretty good cardio equipment. I don't know about the business center because the WIFI is excellent everywhere in the hotel so I use my laptop. I think there is a router on every floor, so sometimes you have to search out the best connection. I travel almost every week and stay in hotels of all stripes. This place is good, I enjoy it.

I recently stayed in Amarillo at Ambassador Hotel for a business trip, and had a very positive experience. The other hotels in Amarillo are just upscale ??motels?. I needed a real hotel with real hotel facilities and services. The rate was very affordable and the value for the money spent, excellent.

The staff was very courteous as well as efficient and helpful and made check-in a breeze. The rooms are great with the business traveler in mind. My squeaky clean room had free wi-fi internet, a chair with a footstool that was great for relaxing while working on my laptop, and a very comfortable king bed. I found an exercise room for my morning workouts, and was pleased to find that the Heritage Park Caf offered a breakfast buffet. It was nice not having to leave the hotel for a good breakfast.

Their lobby area is a great place to meet with clients in Amarillo. The Ambassador Hotel even has a business center in the lobby that worked well for me when I needed to quickly print documents.

When I return to Amarillo again, I will book the Ambassador hotel without question. As far as I am concerned, The Ambassador Hotel - Amarillo is the only business hotel in Amarillo!
