Dr Pearce is an outstanding vet. Knowledgeable, professional, compassionate. Too many vets and clinics just work to drive up your bill. She is dedicated to giving the best care and direction. You are well served by this woman.

We have taken our dog to Dr. Pearce for over 4 years. She is honest, respectful, caring, knowledgeable and patient with him and us. He has had surgery once and in all likely hood headed for another very soon. We are very comfortable with our dog in her care. She doen't pressure you for unnecessary services like some other vets we have encountered in the area. She gives you the facts and lets you make the decisions. All in all a very good vet!!!

We've taken a total of 5 cats since 1986 to Elpaw, and love them. Dr. Pearce is very competent. Also, they're so nice and friendly (although I have to admit that the front desk lady is hard to deal with). One of our cats, Abigail, had been sick for a while, and we and Dr. Pearce decided together that she had to be put to sleep. Abby loved Pachelbel's Canon, and they let us bring in a boom box to play it for her while they gave her the shot. I'll never forget that.

I've taken my dog there for the past 18 mos. and overall, they appear competent, although one of the vets (not Pearce) doesn't speak enough English to have you understand him, so he handed me the prescription bottle to read the dosage and give my dog the pill for tapeworm. However, I recently needed Heartgard for my dog, and when I asked them to approve the prescription over the phone with 1800PetMeds, they refused, stating I needed to come in to pick it up. There's currently 18 inches of snow on the ground, public schools and the federal government are closed, and they can't approve a prescription over the phone. Needless to say, my dog is no longer a patient. People who provide services need to remember that, when the service becomes inconvenient, we always have the ability to find someone who can do the job better.

I have found that the receptionist are very incompetent when dealing with clients and answering basic pet questions. why are they still employed? when there is so much better help out there with mature age and maturity. The one technician is no better she claims to have been there a long time but has nothing to show for herself and again cant answer pet questions. this hospital is a joke and everyone in it. Stay away for the safety of your pet and time wasting.

I called to get some general information. I was very nice to the receptionist (because I thought my dog might become a patient there.) The woman (who had an accent) didn't know if they had a web-site. She told me to call back tomorrow. ??? She went on to be rude and it seemed as if she never had any intention of being helpful or polite. How bizarre. I thought she might be an answering service, but she was in fact, their receptionist. Can you imagine if your pet actually needed help from this place? Good grief!

Worst customer service! Don't go there.I called to schedule an appointment for new patient, and they were very rude!.. They even asked me to come to the back/side door with my puppy when all he had is coughing. She was not nice at all.

I have known the people at El paw Veterinary clinic for 16 years and the doctors there are very good. I saw one doctor bring back a cat from death,so I would trust her with my kid!The techs. treat the pets like they were their own.I think that's a good thing. Plus my dog loves the doctor and I mean really loves the doctor!

We took our puppy to Elpaw twice. Once for her first checkup and second for one of her shots. They were reasonably priced and capable.

Two very bad experiences there however - first they turned away a hurt dog when we were in waiting room - assumed it was because they weren't a patient or couldn't pay. Owner was very upset and it was quite unsettling to us. Then when our puppy (a patient) got sick a few weeks later (turned out she had zinc poisioning and severe anemia), we couldn't get Vet to return our phone call and when we desparately went to the office - the receptionist/technician turned us away. The office was open, no other patients were there, but we were told they were 'expecting someone important' soon. The vet wouldn't even come out to talk to us let alone see the pup for a minute. We ended up at the Alexandria Animal Hospital which took very good care of her.

I was and am incensed that a vet office would refuse to see a sick animal (patient or not) during normal office hours. My dog is no longer a patient there needless to say.

I've been taking my cats to this vet. for 2yrs now, and they have always been very curtious and helpful! The prices aren't outragious either... They also send friendly reminders by mail which I don't know about you but it really helps me out since I have such a hectic work schedule, so sometimes I tend to forget about scheduling the next appointment. I was recommended to them by the local animal shelter and also by a friend of mine who also takes her cat there!
