Tech was very knowledgable and on time. I thought the cost was a little high for the replacement of two heating elements in my waterheater.

I gave them 2 stars because their techs are knowledgeable and customer service was prompt. What has been mentioned in numerous posts is the excessive cost. I needed a pressure tank and submersible pump replaced on my house. I checked costs online and at Lowe's for replacement tank and pump - average cost around $800 (which included the upgrades I wanted). I contacted MyPlumber via online website, got immediate call back and a plumber was out to my house the next day. Great plumber with loads of experience who explained everything he could do, and made recommendations to improve the system and water pressure etc. He did not charge me for the inspection or estimate (I was actually surprised, they quoted me a $49 fee for the service call). The estimate came to $3500. I asked him how that could be possible if parts cost around $800 - this was a $2700 charge for labor plus or minus a couple of hundred dollars in my estimate. He said MyPlumber comes with highly certified technicians and that I was paying for all the experience. The job was to take no more than 4 hours and in my head that equated to $500 an hour. I asked him about that and he said he's been certified for 30 years and I'm guaranteed the best service. Be advised, their estimates don't break out cost of parts and labor separately- only some sort of magical flat rate fee for certain services (he had to refer to a chart). I slept on the estimate, scheduled the work (mostly due to the great customer service), and then had second thoughts. I went back online and read some reviews (most not good), and then looked up some other plumbers to call around for estimates. I found a reputable plumber in my area with positive reviews, we talked on the phone, and was given an estimate of $2000 for everything. I cancelled my appointment with MyPlumber immediately. MyPlumber is really persistent with their outstanding customer service to get you to buy their services and really convince you they are the way to go. Don't be dazzled - call around and get other estimates. It's worth you saving 40-50% on the cost for the same services. Even if you're in an emergency with leaking water or no water - other companies have emergency services at half the cost! Good luck!
