As a long time client of frenchy's, I knew it would be the perfect place to take my bridal party to get all our nails done. I was not disappointed! The booking was easy and they were very accommodating when we had to make a few last minute changes to our services. We got to bring our own champagne and relax as we all got to sit next to each other and get pedicures. I love the new decor and as always our services were the best in town. I would highly recommend Frenchy's for any party or even to get a few hours of relaxing during the week.

Pros: nice service from front desk to pedicurist.

.

This salon is a fun spot and oh so relaxing. The pedicures are out of this world. You must upgrade to the paraffin dip. Everyone there is very attentive from the front desk girls to the service providers. While not the cheapest, it??s very reasonable considering the overall experience and durability of the pedis. I love the trinkets and treasures. Scored some CUTE earrings - cuteness.

After living out of the area for two years, I have returned to Seattle and to Frenchy's. Last week, I came in for my first pedicure and facial. The salon has been updated - new paint, furniture, carpeting - lovely, very clean. The shabby sheek look is gone. Kudos to the owners! As always, my pedicure was the best, as was the facial.

I was there with some gfriends and had a mani. when I went to the sink to wash my hands there was a big toe nail on the counter. I am not sure what happened to this place but it has gone downhill. When we sat in the couch area, it to was filthy. There were pieces of cotton and dirty cups everywhere. Frenchy's, it has lost it's lust!

Basicly I had a mani and pedi- I went right home and took off the mani and re-did it myself! Too chatty with each other instead of paying attention to customers-
Parking is horrid! AVOID!

Getting a Brazilian is my least favorite thing to do, but Janetta makes the experience nearly painless. It was over so fast. I couldn?t believe it! I was in and out in 12 minutes. It was quick and thorough like every Brazilian wax should be. If you must get a Brazilian go see Janetta! She is hands down the best!

I have always loved Frenchy's. Most times I come in by myself for a quick manicure with Leanne or Queen (Leanne does the best little flowers on my thumbs!) and facial with Camilla. Every once in a while I treat myself to a massage and have always liked the technicians that I have been paired with. My favorite part is that I always see someone I know (or want to know!) and usually it's just after one of the makeup girls has taken 10 years off my face with her magic brushes! (I'm a total pushover and always go home with some pretty little package...) One time I treated my mom and sister to pedicures after a death in the family, and the girls treated us so well, we were actually able to take our minds off the stress we had been going through. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Frenchy's because of that day. Try it! Just know that it's not the type of experience you would have anywhere else...it's Frenchy's and it's a bit crazy but it's always fun.

Pros: Great prices for the environment and knowledge of staff

Cons: I save money on services, and then go crazy and spend a ton on expensive makeup!

I treat myself to a Frenchy's pedicure about once a year, usually before a beach vacation, and have been for 6 years. I hadn't been in over a year and booked an appointment 6 weeks ago. Last week when looking up the price list I saw the recent bad reviews and had second thoughts. Sounded as if a lot had changed and things had gone downhill. I almost cancelled but decided to keep the appointment and hope for the best. It was just as I remembered it - comfortable, friendly, and GREAT pedicurists! It was a busy Saturday, but I wasn't rushed, received a wonderful pedicure, and am still very happy with their work. Definitely recommended!

We came to Frenchy's to celebrate before a friends wedding and had a great experience overall. The salon and its staff were very accommodating of our large group (18 people)--very friendly, let everyone pay seperately, very organized. Also the location is a fun and cozy place for a group of friends, even those who had to wait for their mani/pedis had a great time lounging on the salon's cozy couches, sipping tea, eating chocolates and reading magazines. Very cute and fun place. Also, the salon is set up so that people can sit next to each other and chat while they get their nails done, something our group really appreciated. A couple of the girls felt their manicurist was too rushed and not careful/meticulous enough with their manicures and pedicures, but many of us had great manicurists who did a very good job. Reccomended for your next bachelorette party/bday party or any group event.

The product that Frenchie's used for my pedicure ruined my very expensive flip flops - when I called to complain, the manager told me that it wasn't their fault, it wasn't their problem. When I asked them what they could do for me to rectify the situation, I was basically told to try and retturn my shoes where I purchased them.

Additionally, The pedicure was not classy. I got to soak my feet in luke warm wather for 15 minutes (the water got cold) then the pedicurist chatted with her co-worker through the pedicure. Then She put a luke warm towel on my legs for 10 minutes. Funny, they refer to their pedicure as an hour of bliss.

I went with a group of girlfriends to Frenchy?s to get manicures and it was the low spot in an otherwise great day. The manicure was rushed and the quality was horrid! The technician was rude and rushed through the manicure: neglecting to remove the wax from my hands after the paraffin dip and when she painted my nails she missed parts. The best part is that they have you hold your hands in front of a fan to dry them. Hmmm what happens to nail polish when you apply forced air? A terrible manicure with a rippled wind tunnel finish. This place is overpriced ($25 for the manicure) and under quality, avoid it all costs.

Nail clippings and skin fragments all over the carpet in the pedicure area. This is not the place to go for a $50 pedicure. The chair are comfy, but it's hard to relax while staring at toenails embedded in the carpet.

I simply don't understand why the raves. Before my wedding I was treated to a day with some of the bridesmaids. Despite an appointment, we had to wait because they had fallen behind. Further, they tried to make up time by rushing through our services (not cheap!). My nails were not even dry and I had to be rushed for the pedicure. As a result my nails had gotten some air bubbles from the speed at which the manicurist was trying to work. Lastly, what's up with faded colors and old chairs? It's so loud and busy and not at all relaxing. I just don't get the hype. For the same price, check out the amazing salons on the Eastside, especially Aviva Holistic Skin Spa.

Cons: Quality of service suffers with volume of customers

I went to Frenchy's to get a pedicure before Mother's Day because I'd been given a gift certificate. I was also a new mom, looking forward to some time alone. While I waited for my pedicurist, I noted all the signs advertising "mother's day specials" and "time with mom". While I had my pedicure, my mom was out and about in the neighborhood with my 7-week-old baby. She returned when I was finished, and as we were getting ready to leave, he started-- as babies are prone to do-- to fuss a little. We were trying to stay out of the way of the crowded entrance. A few minutes after he started fussing, a woman came out of a room nearby and said in such a rude voice, "I'm trying to give a facial in here!" I almost didn't know what to say-- I was so stunned by her rudeness. I was also struck by the contradiction-- the entrance was so crowded and noisy, I don't know how anyone could relax. When I told my husband about what happened, he decided to call Frenchy's and let them know of my unpleasant experience. He was very polite and said if he'd been a manager there he would like to know. The part that really gets me is that the manager told him a customer had complained about a crying baby earlier that day and that they are "not a child-friendly establishment" as indicated by a sign on the door and on their website. My husband suggested they increase the visibility of their signage (I remember seeing no such sign in the store), and perhaps not advertise Mother's Day specials so strongly if they weren't child-friendly (how can you be mother-friendly if you aren't child-friendly?). Go to their website and see if you see anywhere anything posted about children or babies-- I certainly didn't. While my pedicure was fine, it wasn't worth the curt, defensive, and poor customer service I received. Even if they send me a gift certificate (which the manager offered to do), I won't go back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

Cons: Rude staff, crowded and noisy, poor customer service

I would highly recommend Frenchy's for their customer service. I didn't like the look of my silk nails, but they were more than accomodating when I told them I wasn't satisfied. I went back and had a set of gel nails put on and they are beautiful! Thank you!

I had a set of silk nails done at Frenchy's on Monday and they couldn't be worse. Queen is the only person that does silks there and she wasn't very pleasant. The nails look fine from far away, but up close they are a disaster. The tips she put on are VERY obvious. They were not filed down smoothly and it caused a large lump where the tips start. The silk wasn't dry when she started painting them, so there is a little fabric pattern all over my nails. Looks like I pressed them all over my clothes and put a pattern in them. The ends are filed at funny angles. I had to go home and try to fix them myself. I mentioned this to her, and her response was "no, they look very natural!" It was ridiculous. On top of all that, she used clear tips instead of white tips, so she had to use colored polish instead of french b/c they looked terrible, even she stated this. Not acceptable! I will never return there for silk nails. They are awful!!!

I was idly considering getting a manicure/pedicure on a Sunday afternoon, and got a recommendation from a friend about Frenchy's. I called and they were able to fit in the manicure, so my wife and I packed up our 7 mo. old and walked over. The decor is faux Greek, and the air hung a little thicker than I'd like with smells of perfume, but that's pretty par for the course. They checked me in, offered me a glass of water, and my wife and kid ensconced themselves on the plump sofas in the waiting section. The manicurist came quickly, and I got a great job on my nails. They include the paraffin bath for men in the "Classic manicure" since there's no gloss application, so I got in on the cheap too. Plus, even though the job was on par with some of the best I've had, it was done in very short order, without me ever feeling rushed. Since having started learning to climb, this is the best my hands have felt in a long time. I look forward to checking out their pedicures in the future.

Frenchy's was referred to us for manicures and pedicures. I had the pedicure and it was a rude awakening. You are shown a menu of pedi services and then the pedicure lady will tell you to pay only two dollars more for the top of the line Pedicure the "LULU". The first shock was how unclean the sitting and work area was. There were toe nail clippings, shed skin and dirty papertowels around my sitting area. The chair was comfortable. The sterilization water looked cloudy and dirty. The tools the pedicurist used were sitting on the counter and I would have no way of telling if they were sanitized or used on the last customer. The pedicurist was kind. The front desk staff is rude to most of the customers that were paying at the time I was there. Will I ever go back, ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I wrote a review re: the mani-pedi my daughter and I received and it has not posted. We were very disappointed with the services, especially my pedicure from the lady who continued to wipe her nose with tissue and not wash her hands. Also cutting into the quick on my toes while trimming my nails. I know for a fact my daughter will not return, nor will I , since I was visiting from Palm Springs, CA and this was a gift for my birthday in August.

I check out quite a few nail places to find the right one for me. I had a pedicure here about a month ago and I was disappointed in their cleanliness. The nail tech used a used file on my toes. The tools she used came from a blue solution that looked dirty. I wanted to get up and leave but I thought that would be rude. I even saw the lady next to mine literally use the same stuff she used on her previous client on the one that sat down after I did. The only good thing about this place was their massage. I even called the manager to complain but that didn't help.

Frenchy's has been my favorite, since I have moved here from the East Side. They are friendly, kind, and the people who work really want you to enjoy your stay. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants a fun and friendly atmosphere. The pricing is affordable, so you will not leave having spent a fortune. Thank you to the Frenchy team for such a great time.

For the people griping about hearing other languages: Grow up. I like hearing the other languages the women there speak--it reminds me of the East Coast, in a good way (that's where I'm from). But these three words came to my while I was getting my mani-pedi: humid, cluttered, sloppy. It may just be me, but seeing all these buckets of water sloshed everywhere, clipper and instruments shoved down into paper towels that have been soaked in some kind of cleaning agent, and sitting arm to arm with other women in overstuffed chairs (piles of magazines ringing our heads) felt really claustrophobic. Humid with humanity. It wasn't relaxing for me, personally, at all, and that's a lot of what I want out of a place that bills itself as a day spa. It wasn't supercheap either: It came to $74, with tip, for my mani-pedi combo. I don't hate it, but I won't be going back.

I've had 2 pedicures from Frenchy's and neither one of them we're that great. I thought she was going to rub all the skin off of my foot/leg (it hurt!) and I think a 5 year old could have applied the polish more precisely - it was everywhere! They do have comfy chairs though.

I have recently moved to Seattle and was looking for a place to get my nails done. A friend told me about Frenchy's. The pedicure was great! I was very impressed with the disposable trays. The manicure wasn't so good, chipped pretty quickly. The receptionists were friendly. Laura, who did my pedicure was very attentive! I am definitely coming back for my pedicures!
And hearing a foreign language in the place was refreshing!

First timer review. Great pedi from Sen, who also gave me a great foot massage. Decor is dated but so is the price. Girls at the front desk were nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

And I'd like to leave a message for the Woman two posts down: My guess is that you're really from New Jersey, because true New Yorkers don't throw the "I'm from New York" attitude about so idiotically. And, being from New York City as you claim, I'm sure you have heard more than 1 language being spoken in public, and especially at a low-mid price day spa. I hope they were talking about you as you suspect, because you sound like a word that starts with a "B".

I have been going to Frenchy's for a very long time and I must say that it is by far one of the best spas I have ever been to. The gals at the desk are very friendly and always offer a beverage! The technicians are fun and definately know what they are doing! I always find great products at Frenchy's, and they have a great little sale going on right now!! The parking is rough, but definately worth it! Bring your girlfriends and try them out! It is the perfect treat!

What is all the hype? After moving here from New York, a friend told me about Frenchys.
At first, the front desk staff was too busy talking to each other. My appointment was 25 minutes' late. The two woman doing pedicures were speaking in a foreign language. (how do I know they were not talking about me) Parking was horrible, and I felt like I was at a strip mall. FYI: Shabby Chic is out! I suppose I' will keep shopping around.

I've been getting pedi's at Frenchy's for a couple of months now. I was aprehensive at first after reading the reviews on this site, but I'd gotten many recommendations and am new to the area, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

They do a great job, and I have no complaints. Yes, the girls at the front desk are a little standoff-ish, but they're only receptionists. For pedi's, ask for Kathy - she's great!

Oh, and look out for the cosmetic lady trying to give you a makeover and sell you stuff - unless you're into that type of thing.

I live in New York and recently visited friends in Seattle. They suggested that I go to Frenchy's for a manicure and pedicure, and I'm so glad I did. The pedicure was the best I've ever had, and it was such a treat to sink into the big leather chairs with my cup of coffee. I was also impressed by their attention to hygene - the disposable trays in the foot-soaking tubs are a feature that all spas should have. Frenchy's will be my first stop the next time I'm in Seattle.

Both receptionists lacked any professional customer service. They did not greet anyone with a smile, nor did they offer any beverages to any customers. When asked if there was a manager on the premise, they snootily replied "no", then returned to the conversation between the two. The manicurist was fine, but wasn't stellar. She rushed my manicure and my french polish started cracking the very next day.

I got a gift certificate for a massage at Frenchy's. I was so excited to try something new and I was delighted when i arrived because the salon is very cute. However, my message was the worst ever. The masseuse was not very skilled. She touched me so lightly, like she was tickling me, it was SO Frustrating.

I decided to get a manicure too - it was ho-hum. I could have paid $20 less for the same thing at walk-in nail salon.

I have been going to Frenchy's for 2 years for a pedicure. Laura is the best person that I have ever encountered. She is so careful, and the polish stays on forever. The massage is sooo relaxing. I really enjoy the casual atmoshere. I find the service to be tops and I've been to many other spas. The prices are more than fair. I highly recommend Frenchys!!!
The only con is the parking. Yikes, it can be really hard to find a spot.

I brought a friend here so that we could both get pedicures and have had manicures here for about a year. One thing that they do well is a lasting manicure. They last much longer than those I've had elsewhere and I like the decor - kind of funky if you go in for a shabby/cute look. However, I'll agree with others that the scheduling isn't great and that the customer service is very unpolished. It would be nice if they greeted you and treated you like you were at a spa, but no suck luck.

Getting a Manicure, Pedicure at Frenchies is nice but.... scheduling is a nightmare and hardly makes it worth it. If you can get through on the phone (they often put you on hold or worse you're directed to leave a message and they will call you back?) you will likely get one of the very snotty receptionists that always seem to be put out by something. They rarely smile, they don't look at you and they usually just talk to each other while they take your money. They don't seem to have a computer for scheduling so they do it all by hand and are always making mistakes but rarely, if ever, apologize. I only go to Frenchy's if I want to hang out with friends and get a pedicure together. Otherwise you can get better service for less money at a ton of other places in Seattle.

Frenchy's may not be the Day Spa that you might expect, but the services they do have are first-rate. Many of the manicurists and pedicurists will work overtime on you and most of the staff is friendly. I've also had really great massages, and the newest manager, Joanne, really knows how to run the place.
Parking can be tight in the garage, but I usually do okay, and the products they sell are great! I've seen the same products elsewhere for higher prices, so I always pick something up at Frenchy's when I'm there.
Sunday and Monday are the quieter days!
And don't forget to stop into Arosa for great coffee while you're there!

i've been going to frenchys for a couple of years now. i am always satisfied with my service and the kind technicians. and i will continue to go back. these complainers--esp. maximusxxii and suepoo (or was that pub)--need to get a life. frenchys is a fast paced spa with an energetic atmosphere. yes, it is loud on some days, others aren't. maybe it would help for customers to communicate...explain what they prefer. frenchys treats customers politely and friendly. if you expect to be treated as a queen then maybe you should have technicians over to your house, except most of you complainers couldn't afford it and then you would be better off to realize the world doesn't revolve around you.

I would agree with most of what has been said about Frenchy's, they do have some evil women that are less than gentle when dealing with you, however Koko is a wonderful manicurist! Definitely worth going back for.

I went for a manicure, pedicure, and facial. The pedicure was first, and though it looks good now, it was painful as she cut my nails too short and the filing was hitting the quick underneath them. My manicure was awful. Though she cut/filed my nails very short, I had several chipped tips only a couple days later (the nails themselves!!)
The facial was relaxing, but did zero for my skin. She didn't ask me a single question about my skin type or problems at all. And finally, when I checked out, I wanted to put the tip on my credit card. The girl at the counter said "I'll just add 20% across the board", which left me somewhat stunned since that was not what I wanted to leave, and was very presumptious of her, so I just muttered "sure" and let it go.

This place has been a disappointment time after time. I don't know why I keep giving Frenchy's another chance, they certainly don't deserve my money! Three times I've been in for a wax, SPECIFICALLY requesting that I not have a particular aethetician (there's one who is VERY harsh on the bikini area), and all three times I've ended up with her!!! Get it together! At least call me and warn me so I can reschedule. Then my coworkers gave me a generous gift certificate, which I have since misplaced, and they tell me they keep absolutely no records of their certificates, so I have no way of redeeming them. I thought this might be a professional establishment, but I was wrong! Go anywhere else but here. In fact, I recommend Spa Nordstrom - there you can find professionals who understand the phrase Customer Service.

I once thought Frenchys was my lil' neighborhood place with professional services. I can not say that I feel the same with all the recent changes. In my opinion it stems from management and lack of professional staff. The previous manager was much better bar none, Tammy was courteous and on top of things and the dark-haired estetician Roberta had a better service that was very professional. I have tried to book with Jannetta who I know is also good but she is always booked. I prefer the old Frenchys with the first manager and the old staff. The new expansion may look pretty but if the services and professionalism are lacking why expand?

I bought my wife a combo-gift certificate here for our Anniversary. I should have used my best judgement and realised by the name alone that it was a cheezy place, I mean come on it's called Frenchy's? What is this Grease Lightning? But being a guy I just wasn't absolutely sure of it so I caved in and got her the certificate. My wife's services were rushed and sloppy, her nail polish looked sloppy to me and she showed me how bruised she is on her bikini from the wax. She also mentioned how loud it was inside. Needless to say I am embarassed that I gave her such a crumby Anniversary gift. Flowers would have been much better. So Sorry Rizzo and Kinicke, (or was it Frenchy?) we will be spending our money some place else from now on.

First time visit, 2 services: wax and pedicure. Wax was done VERY quickly and efficiently, and it is quite inexpensive. Pedi was thorough and relaxing. Treatment areas are attractive and clean. Nice, unique selection of merchandise. I don't know what people are expecting differently in terms of the actual services, but the thing that kept me from giving overall high marks was customer service up front: the front desk staff mostly ignore customers. Offering a beverage would be nice. New clients could use a bit of orientation - there are comfy shabby-chic couches strewn around the room, but it isn't clear where the "waiting area" is. On check-out the girl taking my money barely acknowledged me and kept chatting with her fellow reception workers. Since they're the front line of this salon, I'd like to see them a little more customer-oriented. Still, I'll go back.

As a frequent customer, I can say that whoever is writing the recent reviews is on a slanderous mission. It is interesting that the writing style is always the same - be it male or female. Just this week, Frenchy's was written up in Allure and as the Best Manicure in Seattle Magazine. I will keep coming back - the new management is terrific - such an improvement. The new spa area is beautiful - the new massage rooms are top-notich.
I love the new client bathrooms and shower area.
Keep up the good work!!!

After moving to the area from California, I was hoping to find a neighborhood place for all my Spa services. Frenchy's is listed under Nails and I guess I can see why. It's clearly not a Day Spa, it's more of a Nail Salon with basic Spa Services. I also found it to be a bit crowded and loud inside. I can clearly see the point of the last reviewer, it does seem a bit low scale, although I am use to real Day Spas in Cali. My service was okay but not the best I've ever had and the bedside manor was seriously lacking. The one good thing was the makeup selection, it's hard to find Molton and the cosmetics manager was very nice. Since I'm new to town I'll have to try out some more places though.

Their masseuse was great, but the treatment room was very unappealing, it reminded me of someone's finished basement. As far as the rest of the Salon, I found it to be done in a rather lowclass style, like a cheap knockoff of a wannabe shabby chic living room. The akward bathroom journey through the poorly furnished employee break room was the worst part of all. The clientelle, although manily Madison Park housewives, seemed to lack the demeanor of Spa Etiquette, most were quite raucus. The phone/receptionist staff were frankly terrible...extremely unhelpful. I can't say I'd be back again or even suggest it to those that know good taste. Sorry.
