I had high hopes for this place - it looked promising, but I was disappointed.

I walked in the door and there was no receptionist. Eventually, one of the women giving another client a pedicure asks why I'm there. I told her I had an appointment. Very awkward introduction.

Our appointments start 40 minutes late. We would have left except we were using a pre-paid coupon deal.

There are very few nail lacquer colors available. While I wouldn't say the salon is dirty, it is messy.

While they weren't rude, the staff was not friendly and kept conversing amongst themselves as if we weren't there. I went with two other friends and we each got manis/pedis, but sitting side by side, it looked like we were each getting different procedures because each technician did things differently.

The pedi exfoliating and buffing were haphazard and not thorough. The nail lacquer application was sloppy.

Even though I received a deep discount through the coupon, I still feel like I overpaid.

I was looking for a spa closer to home and thought Swoon might fit the bill. Their website has a current mani/pedi deal (dated this month) and suggests making an appointment. I called and was quoted a much higher price than was advertised. The person I spoke with refused outright to honor the offer. I emailed to follow up and never heard back. They lost a potential regular before they even got me in the door.

Had a mani/pedi here today. Very odd experience. First, I go for a pedicure to get my calloused feet worked on. She BARELY buffed my feet-- a couple of swipes was all. Then she put a blue clay=type masque on my feet and wrapped them in hot towels. (Nice). While this is going on, she starts my mani while I"m there in the chair. No soaking. Just starts buffing and going at my nails with the clipper. (Skin and nails landing in my lap).

She used some hot oil products, but I've just never had any kind of nail work without some soaking first to make things soft. I was shocked.

Then she wraps my hands together in a hot towel, which meant for the next 30 minutes I couldn't read or drink my tea, as my hands were bundled with masque stuff on them and resting on towels on m lap.

She ended with some calf and foot massage that was not very deep or penetrating.

Wouldn't ever go back. Basically, I still need a pedicure, I hated the lack of colors, and now that the lotion is wearing off, my side cuticles are jagged on my hands. And my feet still need some serious sanding.

I think perhaps if you're a twenty something with great sweet feet, and want a convenient place to get your nails painted, this might be okay. But for my money, I expect someone with a real knowledge of taking care of feet, someone able to work with dry skin and callouses (and who knows how to handle them), and I appreciate a comfortable chair (preferably a massage chair) when I'm going to sit for over an hour. Their stations are not comfortable at all.

I just found it to be the oddest mani-pedi I've ever had and not my cup of tea at all.

I have had many pedicures, from expensive spas to the little neighborhood spots, and this is by far the worst, least skilled pedicure I've ever had. I sent the following email to Swoon the day of my service over a week ago, and I have yet to receive any response. Very poor service in my book. So I'll never go back.

Dear Owner,

I feel it important to tell you that I had a pedicure at your spa today for the first time, and it was the worst pedicure I've ever had. (My appointment was at 5 and I also brought a friend.) The woman who did my nails seemed very unsure of herself, and I wonder if this was the first pedicure she's ever done. She cut so deeply into the cuticle around my nails, that I was in pain most of the time, and she made me (the citysearch filter won't let me use the verb "bl--d" here - i.e. what happens when someone cuts you.) The water she put on my feet and legs was much too hot, and even though I asked more than once for her to turn it down, she seemed unable to adjust the temperature. All the while, the woman doing the pedicure on my friend kept whispering to her, what to do, which products to use, and to take her latex glove off so she could feel the temperature of the water. My nails are cut unevenly, and all in all, I have never been so uncomfortable and put off by a spa service.

To top it all off, the filing she did of my nail was so jagged, that when I went to put a sock on this evening, it caught on the edge of my nail and tore it, requiring me to file it more. So now, when I am leaving for NY shortly, and had hoped to have a perfect pedicure, I have a miserable pedicure.

The woman at the register gave me 20% off, which I appreciated, but in hind-sight, I don't think I should have had to pay for it at all. I thought though I would take the time to tell you this, because I think your spa has a great look and feel to it - but if you don't have really great staff, or at a minimum, competent staff, then you will just lose business.

Thanks.

I check out quite a few places for nail services. This is one of the very few places that actually sterilize their tools. They also throw out or give you your nail files. The staff is very friendly. I got a pedicure with a friend there last week. The two girls (they look like they could be sisters) were so nice. What impressed me was how clean they both were. One of them dropped a tool and opened up a whole new package because of it. They both make sure that your nails are as clean as they can get it (I like it when they clean under my nails). If you're looking for a place that you can feel safe to be in, you should definately check this place out.

Hi, I moved here recently from S.F. where we had so many great neighborhood spas and salons and have been very disappointed by the lack of choices and high prices for services in Seattle. I had given up until a friend told me about Swoon. It's just a really casual fun place to get a service - which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I had a great mani/pedi and wax. Everyone really is super nice and friendly but not in a creepy way.

So I have been going to Eileen for a couple of years to have pedicures done. She is so great. She takes her time to make sure that everything is done correctly. She never rushes me and makes sure my feet leave happy.

This is one luxe that I won't skimp on -- and Eileen is the only one I will let work on my feet. Next time you need your feet pampered make sure to ask for Eileen. You and your feet will be happy you did.

I have finally found my waxing place! I have been to so many places where they just rush you in and out or where they burn the heck out of you with the wax. My bikini wax was great, the esthetician made sure that the wax was the right temp and took her time to do be thorough. To top it off everyone at the spa is so nice and friendly. So excited that they are on Capitol Hill.

Not awful, but not a home-run either. Employees are Very sweet and friendly...loved their entry and greeting area. As far as facials go...there wasn't any discussion of what the process would be...products to be used or why. It was relaxing until the extractions which, MAN!, were painful. Not pushy, but not quite attentive to detail enough. Don't think I'll go back. It's a lot of $$$ for mediocrity.

This has got to be the best place in Seattle to have your nails done. I've tried everywhere else and they just never seem to get it right no matter how much you pay, but at swoon it's different. The atmosphere is very inviting and the people are so very nice. The place has the best ventilation and should win the most clean spa ever. And as a guy who doesn't like to be in a spa, i don't mind being in swoon. I've brought many friends to my nail girl (Eilleen) and they have always loved her services. Best thing is, my nails don't look bad 2 days later with my cuticles looking all tore up.

This is a great neighborhood spa! I go here for all my services - mani/pedi, massage, waxing, facials. Everyone is so nice and the services are top notch. I love going because there is no attitude just really cool people. Anyone who thinks it looks cheap has not been to many spas in seattle. Everything looks custom made and they have the cool Caper chairs.

I guess I should know not to listen to the hype surrounding new spas by now, but this place was definitely not what I was expecting! Its very tacky and over-priced for what is a very basic spa. The manicure table is really not fun unless you're with ten other people and then it still is cheap looking. Theres just no luxury here, but it's ok I guess. The service was fine, prices were too much for the facility.

Love this spa! Finally a cool, casual spa in Seattle, totally reminds me of places in LA and NYC . Swoon has a fun communal manicure table and awesome pedicure chairs (no gross footbaths). Went there with a couple of girl friends and got a great manicure and pedicure! One of us also got an amazing massage. Not a zen retreat type place, very lively and fun. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. There is also a great wine bar next door that just opened.

I have been to a number of spas around the country. I have been to some of the most gorgeous around and from what I had read on this site figured Swoon would be a great relaxation desitnation while in Seattle on Business. I was immediately thrown off when i walked in and saw manicures done at a dining room table with cheap plastic and uncomfortable chairs and the pedicure station was right next to register where I was constantly annoyed by the front desk talking on phone with a friend. The owner made an appearance and even said a few words to me. She thinks her place is the greatest thing in Seattle but yet no esthetician IN on the day I was there. On my way to bathroom next to the one facial room and across from the one massage room I felt bad flushing the toliet not wanting to disturb the client in massage. Not a lot of thought went into design. Bad layout, services were medicore, and owner should have a serious reality check, honey I have been to the biggest and best and you have a long way to go. Your location is great but that is where the greatness ends. If you are looking for overpriced and medicore services you have found the right spot.

I have been to Swoon 3 or 4 times now. I LOVE it!!! One of the things I love is that they don't dress like all the other spas that you go into. I'm so sick of going to a spa and seeing everyone dressed the same in ALL BLACK. I really love that they can wear Jeans and have there own little urban style. I think it really works for Capitol Hill. It makes me feel more relaxed. I would have to say I like going to Swoon the best when the manager Christina is in. She always makes me feel at home. She is so nice and I don't know how she does it but always remembers what we were talking about the last time I was in. If your going to get a service I would say get a pedicure with Jessica. Trust me if your feet could thank you they would!!!
If you do go in take a look at Christina and Jessica I think they are sister. I have not asked yet but I think they might be.

My husband made appointments for my friends and me for my 37th birthday. I had asked for a facial and a manicure -- thinking that a good facial at a new place might be a bit of a stretch.

My Swoon esthetician, Jessamyn Kay, gave one of the best facials I have ever had. (I've had them everywhere -- Habitude, Jeremy Todd, Gene Juarez, Robert Leonard, Spa del Lago, Ummelina, Nordstrom -- from the most highly recommended esthetician's in town.) Jessamyn gave me a deep and thorough cleansing; her extractions were complete but very gentle. She was sensitive to my desire to relax and spoke very softly when she needed to tell me something. Instead of leaving the room for 20 or 30 minutes during the mask, Jessamyn gave me an incredible neck, shoulder, upper-back, arm and hand massage. I didn't just leave with glowing, healthy skin -- I left relaxed and rejuvenated.

Jessamyn will book up quickly as soon as she is discovered. If you're seeking an esthetician to see regularly (or just want a great facial), get on her schedule now.

The rest of my Swoon experience was equally outstanding . Professional staff, very clean and incredible services. Swoon isn't just "another" day spa -- this one has the formula to last.

I've been to Swoon Boutique Spa three times in the last couple of months and I LOVE IT! The staff are professional and courteous. I love Christina, the manager. She always has a smile on her face and very good at recommending staff depending on the service you want. Personally, I think Thu Pham is absolutely fabulous when it comes to mani's and pedi's. She's gentle and my hands and feet always look great. Also, they are open 7 days a week now and it's really easy to get an appointment. If you're looking for a clean, urban and hip spa, check out SWOON! I'm definitely going back...I've already booked my next appointment.

Ohmygosh, my friend recommended me to check out Swoon and I am so glad that I did! I set up an appointment for a manicure/pedicure combo and wow, was I amazed! The service providers were wonderful! Not only was the massage great but I received so many compliments about my nails afterward (their colors are fabulous). I was really impressed and will definitely be going back soon for a massage and facial. I love the vibe (very hip and comfortable) and the people there are so nice. Also A+ for cleanliness, it was so comforting that they sterilize everything medical grade. I would recommend this place to everyone! Great services, great prices, great service. What more can you ask for? :)

Went there with a couple of girlfriends to celebrate a birthday after reading a review on NW Source, thought it was great. Hip, intimate spa that provides awesome services in a low key way. We got manicures and pedicures sitting next to each other. We loved the products they used and everything was really clean and sterilized, and their manicurists have all worked at high end spas in Seattle. You basically get the same services for much less $$$. Can't wait to try a massage.

My brows are so hard to shape due to the fact that its thick. I have been different spas in the Seattle area and still found no one who can shape it the way I like it. I live in the area and thought I drop in to see if they can help me.

Lacey is GREAT!! She took time to talk to me and asked me what I wanted and she knew exactly what she was doing. I went in with crazy brows and came out the service feeling like a new person. I LOVE her!!

I was walking by Swoon with a friend on a sunny day and thougt to myself..... Look at my feet.. I need a pedicure like asap.
I love the vibrant color in Swoon and love the fact that THEY STERILIZATION all their tools. I was able to walk in and get a pedicure in like 30 minutes. I got to sit right next to my friend on their cushy pedicure chairs while Anthony and Kellie gave us these amazing foot massages. The staff were so friendly and it was the BEST pedicure I've ever had.
