The team at WA Auto Credit was able to get me approved at a way better rate than I had seen in a long time! I was able to leave in a car that was almost brand new. Even after the sale, they have been great with following up and helping me feel appreciated. Everywhere else I have been always felt like more of a game, and usually resulted in a wasted day with no vehicle. I will recommend WA Auto to all my friends and family.

I recently purchased a 2011 Impala from Washington Auto Credit in Olympia. This review is very honest and factual.

The positives include the obvious, being financed during a bankruptcy. They also mailed a box of cookies a week later. A bit odd, but thoughtful.

I received an email from the dealership asking me to make a review, however if I wasn't satisfied, let them know so they can make it right before I review. I did and they never replied.

Now for the not so positives. I arrived for my 10 am appointment on time and did not leave until 4pm. I wasn't expecting to be there for 6 hours. Every few minutes we were interrupted by another customer. Also found it very uncomfortable sitting in the manager's office on a leather sofa that was an inch from the ground. Not sure how older people stand up after sitting in it. Just another oddity during my experience.

While having a pre interview over the phone I was told they do not have any inventory online and could not tell me if they had any Impalas in stock. This was a red flag for me. I can only speculate this is a method to get a customer in the door even if they don't have any vehicles you're interested in. I'm sure they have another "reason" they don't publicize their inventory though.

Towards the end of the deal I asked if they would tint the windows on the car. No!, we are only making $300 on this deal was the reply. The car was out of fuel, I assumed it would be filled. NO! we can only put $30 in the tank! First day it rained the wipers were so bad I couldn't see and drove right to the auto store and spend $30 for new ones! Tires? Yup, the insides were completely worn. I didn't catch this when I looked over the car. I only looked at the outside part of the tires, which were good. Tire shop said the tires we not rotated and I needed to replace them sooner than later.

Again, I brought these issues to their attention with no response. There are other dealers that will finance people with bad credit or those in bankruptcy and I suggest you use them.

Business Response:

Hi Kurt, I appreciate your thorough and thoughtful comments. You made several points, and I thought it best to break them down one by one. I am sorry. I never heard about your concern. My guess would be that you emailed Zach. If he did not reply, I apologize. For the concerns below, it might not have changed much, but you deserve a reply. 6 hours is not normal. Most people are in and out in about 3 hours. I do not know how much the other customer interruptions played into it, but people do pop in whenever they want. That is the big reason we try so hard to keep people on an appointment schedule. Thank you for being on time. Most people like my couch and say it is comfortable. Some do not like getting out of it, but that is not usually older people. Our philosophy is the opposite of your hypothesis. We do not want to "just get people in". We want people to come in, when they are approved to buy a vehicle, and they are willing to buy something that is somewhat realistic with their budget. We also do not promise vehicles that are not available. A lot of dealerships you call will tell people anything to get them in the door. We have found by not promising anything other than doing our best, people usually are not disappointed. Some people do not come in when we tell them we do not display inventory. That would have been your right as well. It happens. We do not display info on our site on purpose. We deal primarily with people that are harder to finance. In that world, what people WANT to buy and what they CAN buy are often miles apart. You were lucky. One of the vehicles you wanted was an Impala, and we were able to help you do it. We have found it much more efficient to work on the loan first, and then help people find vehicles they qualify for. Back when we did display cars on the site, we got a lot of "What about this car" phone calls, and 90% of the time it was a car the customer could not afford, or the bank would not finance for them. We would also get the "I didn't see anything I liked" phone call or email, when in reality, many times there was a vehicle they would like that was not on the site. There is usually a 2 week delay before stuff shows up on the website, and a week delay for it to come off after it sells. Websites are not current because you have to have someone go around and take pictures of cars. While the information given to you regarding our profit was accurate, I do not like the way my employee delivered it to you. He should have told you he would ask me, and I would have told him no, because we could not afford it on your deal. When we make a decision to sell someone a car, it is always looked at as "Does this make sense?" It would not have made sense for us to sell you the car if we paid to tint it. Until you sign the contract, you could always decide not to buy it. Yes, Kurt, you are correct. Store policy is no fill ups on used cars. It is a business decision. I am sorry if you do not agree with it. You should not have had to replace the wipers. If you provide me with the receipt, I will reimburse you for them. They could have been gunked up with the wax from detail. It happens. Vehicles are reconditioned first, then they go to detail. So the inspection on the wipers is before all the cleaning chemicals and waxes are applied. If the shop missed that the car needed tires, I am sorry. The inspection report shows adequate tread. I can tell you that if they had put new tires on that car, you would not have been able to buy it with your loan and down payment. On these loans, the lender is only going to finance so much money on a given car, and we have to try to keep our costs in line so that we can afford to sell the car to our customers at the price a bank will let us sell the car for, and absorb the acquisition fees we are usually given by the lender. Once again, I am sorry you did not get a response. Since I started writing this, I was able to go into our system and see the message you wrote Zach. You should have gotten a response. Sincerely, Ryan Garrison

I had a good time working with them. They did the heavy lifting with calling the banks so I didnt have to. I would suggest giving them a call if you have no credit like I do. I will be back here to get some more cars and bring some friends along too.

I am not going to say that my credit was the worst ever. But it was not the best. I had tried to buy a car at the Toyota and Honda dealer down the street and they could not help me out. I tried the guys in All Star's credit building and they helped me out with getting a 2010 dodge caliber I really like. If you need a little extra help getting approved, these guys do a good job.
