We spent over $20,000 on a landscaping remodel in August 2010, and Huskiez (Zach) guaranteed he'd come back and fix any landscaping problems with the yard, deck & sprinklers within the first year of completion.
We had our backyard, deck and sprinklers put in by Huskiez Landscaping in July 2010. The owner, Zach, told us his work and the work of his crew would be backed-up if there were any problems or anything we needed redone if we weren't happy with the landscaping he did a year after completing it. We had problems after a few days of working with Zach. And we are unable to get him to call us or come back to our house to fix the problems. Some of which are:
-Lots of grass growing in our rock border,
-our deck stairs were unstable (my husband fixed that)
-the deck needs more screws to keep from bouncing,
-there are lights out in the garden that was put in,
-we signed an agreement to have Zach turn the sprinklers on in order to warranty the sprinkler system, and he has not set up a date to come despite many emails/phone calls,
-there are bulbs from a previous garden growing up through an area they were supposed to dig out and lay grass in,
-the skirting on the deck is loose and flimsy (it could easily be broken off).
While doing the work in July and August, Huskiez needed constant reminders of what work we expected even though we'd talked and emailed about it, including:
-putting down weed fabric before placing rock,
-replacing siding that matched the house (he ordered siding in the wrong color and then when told to put on the right color he said he couldn't do it, again my husband had to find a way to replace it),
-it was difficult to have him re-do things he did wrong, such as the front yard border, and he has a hard time accepting responsibility when he, or his crew, does something poorly and it is pointed out to him.
-He often would try to convince us that it had to be that way.
-We've called to set up an appointment for him to come turn our sprinklers on, it is now May, and he only returned one of our calls and left a message, even though we've called back and left messages and tried to contact him by email as well, he is not responding.
-We've talked with 3 other landscaping companies by phone, and all have told us the sod was torn out incorrectly which is causing the grass problem, and he should have done it correctly or come back to correct the problem. When we pointed this out to him, he refused to take responsibility and told us we need to put "round-up" on the grass that is growing through our rock garden and that this is normal yard work "we all deal with".
-We are having trouble getting him to follow through on his work, and in the meantime, our garden and grass are suffering. In the sprinkler warranty, Huskiez HAS to come inspect and turn on the system (which we can't get him to do), which they charge $110/year to do, or the warranty is void. All our plant and flowers are going to get ruined if he doesn't come, or we will be forced to get someone else to come do the work and void the warranty in the process. For now we are hand-watering.
We feel we have been scammed by Huskiez telling us they would do things they didn't do and refuse to take accountability.
