Like I'm reading in many other reviews this place is horrible, never shop in this store!! I went into the store with my daughter, a new homeowner. We are going through a family tragedy and not on our A game. The sales person was very pushy and wanted the sale, she claimed that she was a designer helping at a busy time. We bought a sofa and chair but still not sure it would be a good fit, our "designer" told us that we could purchase and go home to measure and cancel if we needed. We went home and realized it would not fit, called the store in the morning and were told that all sales were final, they would not cancel or refund the money.
I called the store to speak with our sales person/designer and was told she wasn't working, I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were with a customer, I left my number and was assured that they would call back within a hour. After waiting for 5 hours we went back to the store and spoke to a older kind gentleman that claimed he was a manager, only to find he had fangs and was as dishonest as the rest of the employees. My favorite line of his was "we don't have to tell you that all sales are final" while pointing to a small sign on the counter!!!

We just purchased a sectional & ottoman from the manager, Larry bell, which we had to order. Larry assured us it would be in within 2 weeks...over a month later it arrived & no ottoman!!! That took another 3 weeks & when it arrived it was the wrong color & different fabric than the sectional. After several more phone calls, left messages etc Larry finally called back 2 weeks later. When I told him the problem he got very angry, yelled at me and was completely unprofessional!!!!!!! I had not been rude or anything so it was undeserving!! He lied & said he told us it would be different, but he did not & we only picked out 1 fabric!!! Why would we want something that didn't even match?!! I will NEVER purchase anything from there again!!!! You should not either! Wish I had read these reviews first!!!

If you want to go to court and deal with people with no integrity go to York furniture. Larry Bell owner will tell you anything you want to hear and thereis no service after the sale.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews they are written by the York's employees.

Go somewhere else I guess people don't read the reviews because he is still in business

Beware these people lack integrity. I would never spend my money in this business. The owner/manager is arrogant and condescending. The customer does not come first in this establishment, no matter how right you are.

I had an immediate need for a lift recliner chair for my husband, who, weakened by cancer, could not get up from a regular chair. We borrowed a pickup truck on a Sunday and bought a very expensive chair from the on-site warehouse, with assurance from David, the manager, that we could return it if it didn't suit our needs. My husband sat in the chair twice before being admitted to the hospital and subsequently dying. We contacted David two weeks after the sale asking to return the chair, and were told that we could not return the chair, because too much time had passed (even though no one was using the chair, because we had spent all our time at the hospital). David had seemed happy enough to make the sale, and when specifically asked, did not inform us of any deadline for a potential return of the chair. After many fruitless communications, we now own a very expensive chair that we have no use for. I cannot and will not recommend York Furniture Gallery to anyone - and it appears I'm in good company on that score.

Salesperson Brenda made it a point to demonstrate how sturdy the dresser was by pounding her hand on the bottom of the drawer. Kept telling us it was solid furniture, made of wood and in the USA. She bragged about being an 11-year furniture sales person with York. After the typical go around we bought the furniture. What they delivered to us was a mediocre plywood and particleboard bedroom set with stickers everywhere claiming "MADE IN CHINA". We call that very day and asked why the stickers said made in China. Her explanation was she made a mistake and it was busy. It was not busy. We were her only customers and we had to ask her to leave us alone for a few minutes so we could discuss purchasing the furniture. Plus an 11-year furniture sales person does not make that kind of mistake. Her manager, Larry, also stated the furniture was made in the USA. Both lied and both continue to lie.

So the furniture has so many flaws on every piece of furniture. Some drawers do not work; there are chips in the nightstands, rough finish and glue that was painted over. Per Larry he would replace it all. We want out money back but they are giving us a hard time and not working with us to fix the problems.

They did send out an independent furniture guy who told us the furniture was plywood and particleboard. He fixed the chipped wood by coloring it in with one of those wood pencils. Really, whom did he think he was fooling? Then he used steel wool to get rid of some of the rough surface. Still we are trying to get the other items fixed. They did order new rails for the one drawer and when talking with customer service they were looking into getting us a new nightstand. They promised to call back the following Monday and of course they did not.

They will say whatever to make a sale and then not stand behind the junk they make.

I would actually rank this zero stars if I were able to; this is how dissatisfied I am.My fiance and I went into York in January and ordered our 3 piece leather sectional, which we paid half of at that time. We told them that we were not going to be in our new home until June, and that we would be back then to pay the rest and set-up delivery. They assured us it was not a problem and that they hold furniture for people all the time. When we went back to pick it up in June they told us that they needed 2 days notice to schedule the delivery. I called back a few days later and was told that we could pick it up. The following day they called, saying that they were "so sorry" but they over sold our couch in the warehouse and could not get us the one we paid for IN FULL. When we went in to resolve the situation, they tried to sell us a different couch and offered us a "loaner" couch in the meantime. We were told in July that the couch would be reordered and would be delivered in 5-6 weeks. Come to find out 10 WEEKS LATER the couch was never ordered, which they never bothered to share with us. It took multiple phone calls, and messages left for a "manager" who was never available to discover what had happened. It's September and I still don't have my couch, nor is this situation resolved. They continue to offer that we come in to look again at "another couch" or to pay us back in full, but that does not make it ok that we've been given the runaround for 3 months and that they sold our couch to someone else. This is the worst customer service I have ever received and I recommend that you turn and run the other way than go inside of York Furniture Gallery for any future purchases.
