Hired Heritage Roofing and Remodeling LLC, Pittsburgh, PA owner Jake Finley to install privacy fence along just one side of my yard. We purchased all the supplies for the project and had them there for his crew. He was a no show on the day he said he was coming out. He never bothered to even call to let me know he wasn't coming. I took off work to be there because he asked us to just leave the money in an envelope in the yard. HELLO? Instead he came out late the next day in which it was raining and no one was around. He called me at work and wanted to know how he was going to be paid, also asking where the fence panels were. He made it sound like it was going to be a 1 hour job. His decking crew turned out to be him, 1 other guy and his very young son. He did not consult us on how the fence was to go up and our mistake was assuming he knew what he was doing. He put in place 8 foot posts for a 6 foot fence and left 13+ inches of post above the fence. When I came home from work he wanted more money from us stating it was a bigger job then what he was told. He saw the area prior. My husband unfortunately paid him $50. more then the $400.00 agreed on price (cash) we never received a receipt for the payment work done. He said he would come back out and rebury the posts since we were not happy with his work, which we weren't and let him know. Every fence panel was put on at a different height, nothing was lined up and with the posts sticking way above the fence it looked awful. He sent me a text saying he would be out to rebury them and apologized and we never heard from him again. They threw cigarette butts all over my yard, trampled some flowers and left a muddy mess. He gained our trust by doing a quick roof repair (which he never sent me the pictures of either for my insurance company) and then burned us with the fence project. *update* Two weeks after we paid him to installed the fence my husband and I spent an entire Saturday to re-install only the lower yard section (3 panels and a small sloped hill) . Only two fence posts are buried deep enough out of 8, the rest we hand pulled out and re-installed he ha buried only 10 inches into the ground with a small amount of cement. The fence panels held on with 4-6 screws each. We threw away our hard earned cash when we hired someone who claimed to be a professional. Our advice is to investigate who you hire, get it in writing word for word what you want done and the price you will pay. I would NEVER hire him again for anything.

I was happy with the quick repair job he did on my roof and he said he had a remodeling company too and they could put a privacy fence up for me. Owner Jake Finley didn't show up on a beautiful day when he said he would costing me a days

I paid for two separate jobs. I paid him 1/2 prior to him starting the jobs. He finished the first (a roof on my porch and some chimney work). He partially finished the second job (a chimney at a rental home), I paid in full for both jobs at that point. He PROMISED numerous times to return to finish the second job. That was in April. It's now August and he continues to ignore my VM and text messages. He seems very trsustworthy when you first meet him. DON"T TRUST HIM.
