I recently (SEPT 2011) had Eric at Washington Electric install a 70A subpanel in my basement as a part of a remodel. I had two other companies come and do estimates before I decided to go with Washington Electric for my installation. Eric not only gave the best price, but also came on time and was very enthusiastic when explaining my options.

The work he did was professional. In fact, I was so pleased with his work that I had him come and do some additional work after the subpanel installation was done.

I would not hesitate to call Washington Electric again for my electrical work.

When I read reviews, I always ask myself, "Why should I choose this or that?" But with Eric, and Washington Electric, you should ask yourself, "Why not Washington Electric". He is friendly, knowledgeable, reasonable, and professional. He is upfront about what needed to be done, and was accurate in the time needed and gave a firm estimate. I had so many other estimates that we "if this happens, then it costs this, or if that happens, it will cost this". Eric knows what he is doing and will be my electrician from now on. No more zapping myself.

Finding honest, hard working, local trade professionals can be tough. But I have found and tested out an electrician for you. You can be at ease with Washington Electric. Eric is fast, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. His prices are very very competitive, his work ethic is second to none, and he knows what he is doing. He gave me a firm estimate so that I wasn't guessing at the final price, and is very efficient in his work. I barely knew he was there (other than having 3 great outdoor sockets available now). No more looking around for electrical work for me.

If these guys continue providing service at this level, we may have found the solution to all our future electric needs.

Here are the things that I appreciated the most: (in no particular order).

- Out of the box thinking and go getter attitude:
Where other contractors needed to be accompanied by a crew to patch up the dry wall, Eric accomplished without tearing the wall at all (in any visible area)! That's real savings right there. Plus, lack of proximity to a switch was not a dead end to him, and he managed to find clever ways around it.

- Competitive rates:
Let's face it, cost is one of the most important consideration for most of us, and we got good competitive rates. Otherwise we wouldn't have undertaken the project at all.

- Professional work:
The estimated duration was pretty accurate, Eric brought along all his fancy tools and gadgets and cleaned up after completing the job. Very satisfied with the overall quality and professionalism.

- Availability and Flexibility:
Setting up time for a quote and the job itself was a breeze, in spite of our working hours.

Based on my experience, I'd highly recommend Washington Electric without any reservations.

Eric showed up on time for his estimate appointment. His van with his company logo on it was clean. I received the estimate of about $475 to add an additional outlet in the guest bathroom and the master bathroom a few days later. I found him very easy to work with.

We scheduled the appointment. He came and did the work on time and within the estimate he had prepared. He came prepared with all the GFIs we had discussed. I noted that the holes he had to make for the new outlets were well inside the boundaries for the new switch plates or covers.

The outlets and covers he brought matched both the color and the style of the others in the bathrooms. I was afraid that a gap might show or the colors would not match. He vacuumed up all the debris that he created. If I hadn't heard the vacuum, I wouldn't have known he was there.

While up in the attic to run some wiring, he noted to me that I should get more insulation (and a possible tax credit). He said that it would be easy to rent a blower and loose fill insulation. That was an added bonus.

He did mention that I might want to considered getting a whole house surge protector if I had a large number of delicate electronic items. I would use him again.
