Love this new hotel.....Easy access to major highways and shopping...
I think the W Perimeter got it's star rating on name alone. It is little more than a refurbished average hotel... It attempts to be trendy, but the thin walls and average ammenities make this comparable to a holiday inn. Actually, I've stayed at more comfortable Holiday Inns....
Pros: a decent hotel
Cons: over-rated
I stayed at the W hotel this weekend and my room was right above a loading dock for trucks...which means NO sleep. I called to complain and they lied and said it wasn't there property and that it was construction and they would send up ear plugs! I could look out my window and clearly see that there were loading trucks delivering water, food and etc. to the hotel. I do not appreciate being lied to and when you spend money on a hotel, you expect that they would try to accommodate you to their best ability. The staff seems lazy and unattentive, even valet. No greeting, no "I will be with you shortly" and you wait in the cold, so needless to say valet parking is a waste of your time and of your money. Also, the rooms are so outdated and dirty. They actually have an odor to them. I upgraded to a suite, which was a joke, the kitchen looks like it came from the 1980's...they clearly put no time or effort into it. I have stayed at W's before and had great experiences, but this one I would steer clear from. You are MUCH better staying at the W in Buckhead, where you are closer to nightlife, new rooms and close to the airport. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Pros: location,lobby
Cons: rooms, service, and no sleep
Cool and modern with great decor. Impeccable staff with a swanky LA type bar/restaurant!
Pros: Great Beds!
Fun, loud and exciting bar with a brilliant assortment of tapas and intricate cocktails along with great service and flashy bartenders. Enjoy the calamari salad and asian-influenced menu outside on the patio, then head up to your gorgeous modernized room with an elegant bed known for comfort and all around great service.
Pros: Great bartenders, modern music
Cons: Not for the geriatric population
The W is the best place in Atlanta to escape. They have one of the best attitudes towards providing comfort.
The place is wonderful. I enjoyed my stay very much. The attendants are very nice and attentive. I had to make a call about 10 times (literally) and the woman didn't give me attitude or anything. It's actually a nice surprise! The rooms are nice, clean, comfy, and service was well-maintained. Food service was prompt even on a late night. Yummm
Pros: everything!
Had a party in Atlanta, the kids were invited, so instead of driving back to LVILLE, we decided to stay in town. I have stayed at W hotels all over, and this one was just as good! Best part was the rate. We got a special online rate-affordable, clean, and kids thought it was AWESOME!
Looking for someplace trendy and fashionable to stay - look no more - The W Hotel is the place to stay.
This place is beautiful just to walk through and enjoy the decor - it is really funky and fun.
Excellent service and cuisine. Love the South Beach like interior. Would highly recommend this hotel for locals and visitors as well.
I recently stayed two nights at the W. As usual for a W, the staff was friendly and attentive. The room was spotless and comfortable. But I've grown to expect more from a W. The W has a nice outdoor firepit and outside seating to enjoy conversation or enjoy a cocktail. The only disappointment is the one bar is very small and not conducive for conversation as it is between the elevator, front desk and front door.
While the lobby may say W, the rooms sure as heck don't. The rooms are lackluster and have little or no design element like other W's do. I had to change my room 4 times. The first, there was someone else already staying in the room, the second, the room hadn't been cleaned at all and the last, was near the noisy elevator shaft. The folks at the front desk aren't hospitable at all. I'd at least deal with some attitude if the hotel was as up to par with some of the W's better locations (Union Square, Lakeshore). Strange that this hotel made the Best of Citysearch list. Do yourself a favor and book a room elsewhere.
Pros: none
Cons: rooms, service
...but not nice enought to put up with bad service. My date and I had drinks and not only did they get my drink wrong but no one came back to check on us for over an hour! We had to flag down a waiter to order another drink. And after all that, they had the nerve to put a gratuity on the check.
Pros: nicely decorated, modern
Cons: bad service, overpriced
This W location is one of the first that the boutique chain built. It's very stylish and is what you would expect from a W; the decor at this one is predominantly blue, tan & white. But this isn't the jewel in their crown -- it's not near downtown or the other main business or attraction areas. And the staff here isn't quite as efficient or on top of their game as the other locations where I've stayed (a wake-up call that was two hours early, a burned-out light bulb in the room, room service order not quite right, etc.). Still, the rooms are super-comfortable, and it's hands-down the best hotel in Atlanta style-wise.
Pros: style
Cons: location
This is a nice hotel, all things considered, but not even close to the level of the W's I have stayed at in other cities. They did what seems like a halfway job of converting this from a 70's era business traveler hotel, and while the lobby and the amenities are nice, the finishes in the rooms are not up to snuff.
Give this hotel a try. It's posh, caters to the business travelers, and attracts some of the beautiful people. The lobby welcomes you with great music & candles (in the evening). The rooms are decorated in the same style as the lobby with truly-stated "heavenly beds." For leisure travel, the prices can be elevated; however, the location is great. It's tucked away ten minutes from the Midtown area (Buckhead) & Lenox mall via the toll bridge.
Pros: Decoration, Location, Great Beds
Cons: Slightly Pricey
