I was the first to report these people to the BBB. I've been chasing them down since I placed my "order" for shutters with them since January 28, 2010.

I have the same experience as all who've been scammed by them: non-answered calls, non-replied emails, avoidance; then when I speak with them (few and far between) Pierre gives me bogus answers to my questions, etc, Heather says she'll check with the manufacturer.

I called the manufacturer Pierre also attempted to scam, Expo Windows Fashions here in Houston, and they told me they don't do business with them any longer because only for them they require a 50% deposit on orders, and Pierre couldn't come up with that. They also told me production time is 4-6 weeks, which Pierre told me the raw materials coming from China was the reason why my order was delayed (total lie). In fact, he never placed the order with them and took my order "deposit" and simply deposited it into their bank account for personal use.

I've gone the legal route, and have my day in court tomorrow, 8/19/10, with Judge Jerome Jozwiak in Alvin (260 George Street, Suite 100, Alvin, TX 77511), which I highly doubt they will show up (they were served), even though they live less than 1 mile from the courthouse! This is the ONLY recourse for anyone who's been scammed by these things, not people. SO, I will get a default judgement and proceed from there... Good thing I have lawyer buddies and a relative who works investigative fraud with the US Treasury to give me guidance.

If there are enough of us, according to one of my sources, to come together, we can prove a pattern of fraud and CRIMINAL charges can be pressed against them, Pierre and Heather Conaway. Heather would then be on the receiving end of the Police phone call !! Email me at: cochbr@yahoo.com

On their website they now say that they are out of business. Yeah, after all these complaints. He sounds so legimate with his tone. I tell you. If these people were really reputable and contrite with not being able to give our products that we legitimately paid for, then why, why, why didn't they answer phone calls, answer emails, return calls, return emails, satisfy the customer in some kind of way. Wouldn't a reputble company satisfy their customers with a simple return phone call and email? Of course one would. Why, why, why? Why didn't they give their say-so when given a chance to tell the truth on Fox News and with the BBB. They refused all. This is obvious that they are scamming and that they were never legimate in the first place. In fact when Emily Akin talked with them, they (Heather and William) said, "You can do whatever on your little show" in a irritated tone and "Maybe we'll give them $500." Did they follow through? Of course not, because they are not to be trusted. Signature Window Coverings in Houston (which is the only Norman Shutter distributer in Houston) told us that they would NEVER do business with these people because they did not pay them and they even said, "Well, they are at it again. . . " I think we know what that means; they scammed before and scammed again. It doesn't matter if people are trash talking about this company. You (best buy blinds) deserve it. We deserve our money back and you didn't deserve to take it from us without giving us a product in return. Is it dependent upon whether we will kiss your butt to get our money back? What? Really? You all have children. For goodness sakes, be honest for them. Be legit for them. Care about what you are doing to them and how you are conducting business and how you spend your money for them. Go to business school so that you can do things right. Do it for them. Goodness sakes! Why did you all use our money without putting in an order first? The answer here is obvious. I can go on and on. The bottom line is at least give us a date when you would give our money back. Your letter was vague and noncommittal. How can we trust that your company will give us our money back when you couldn't return a simple phone call or an email?

My experience, unfortunately has been the same as everyone else who has done business with William Pierre Conaway and Heather Conaway. Bottom line, they spent my/our money for their personal benefit. I've made an agreement with William to allow a weekly payment to be made to me until all funds are returned. He did send me a $25.00 money order. The total he owes me is $1750.00. I, being a man of my word will refrain from additional action as long as I recieve a weekly payment. In the event that I do not continue to receive weekly payments will escalate this. Obviously civil litigation is a waste of time. Frankly, if someone steals a dime or $1750 from me, I will use every resource at my disposal to ensure the cost is MUCH greater for the person who has committed the offense. I have played in the mud before...and can do so again if necessary. I am a violent person by nature, but am very glad that William (so far) has decided to make payments to me. We will see if the payments continue to arrive as promised.

WELL...you will all love this. I received a call today from the Alvin Police Dept. William decided that he felt threatened by the comments above. I of course explained to the detective that there is nothing threatening in the above comments. Merely describing ones "nature" is in no way a threat. Additionally, when the statement is read in its entirety, it is clear that I stated "I am very glad that William has decided to make payments to me". It should be interesting to see if William continues. Unbelievable that the police would entertain a complaint of this sort which is clearly baseless. Even more unbelievable that William thinks that this approach will somehow make his situation better. I cannot imagine that it would. We'll see if the payment arrives this friday. I certainly hope it does.....but I'm not encouraged. I am a man of my word. It's good to know William and I are on the same page.

We had the exact same experiences. It is terrible!!!!. They said they are going to send a contract agreement to refund our money. We don't know when and how much.

This is definitely a scandal. I found the Fox news report and filed a BBB report.

http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/news/consumer/100621-house-missing-shutters-totally-visible

We have left multiple messages and no returns. We are working with different agents to stop the owner William Pierre Conaway to continue the scandal.

We sent multiple emails and certified letters and never got a response. They basically never placed any order. We already filed for the small claims court.

Met with Pierre in November. He was very professional and product looked to be of good quality. We paid in full for blinds and paid 50% up front for shutters. The blinds were delivered 5 weeks past the due date and were incomplete. They sent 3 different people out to remeasure for the shutters. After the delivery date of 5-8 weeks had come and gone, I began calling to check the status. I was given a number of stories that they were being cut, painted, almost done, accidentally given to another customer, and then my calls went unanswered. I kept calling 5-10 times per week with no answer. Finally, at the end of April I got an answer. I was told that the shutters were never even started! They explained that the warehouse changed their policy and full payment was now required up front. I asked about a refund of my deposit and was told a letter was going out in 3-5 business days. Guess what, it never came. I then filed with the local BBB. The company had 30 days to respond, which they declined to do. I got in touch with them last week to request my refund again, they said they mailed it to the wrong address and would send the letter the next day. That was a week ago and still no letter and still no refund. Don't be fooled by their seemingly professional sales pitch. This has been a nightmare!!!
