I should have turned around and walked right out the door after seeing the mixture of happy little piggy pictures next to the head of a decapitated boar on the wall and pig limbs hanging from meat hooks from the ceiling. I mean really, who decorated this place? Hannibal Lecter?

Unfortunately I didn??t walk out. Unfortunately I had a very expensive dinner, that didn??t even fill me up. I went home feeling unsatisfied and ripped off. Then proceed to flush my triple-digit dinner down the toilet in a watery, greenish-brown explosion. I??m assuming the green part was pure money that I wasted, because I don??t remember eating anything green?

This was my first time eating there and I enjoyed it. We had a meat and cheese plate as the appetizer and I couldnt have enjoyed it more. The ambiance is cool with a down home style. Parking was a little hard, but thats downtown decatur for you.

Iberian Pig has old fashioned drinks and a fun, eclectic menu. The flavors in each dish we tried, were really intense and delicious. I will have many good dreams of the bacon wrapped dates!

I am giving my review only 4 stars due to temp in the restaurant, SLOW service and not enough food. We had 11 people who got together and did a chef tasting. The process took 3.5 hours! Service was painfully slow...each person did not get their own plate but a platter of a few things put in the middle of the table. Basically each person got a bite. Not nearly the food we felt we should have received for the price. We would NOT do a chef tasting again. The restaurant was HOT, slow and wearrived and left hungry.

The food: in a word FANTASTIC! Bacon wrapped dates in espresso aoli, fried crab balls, pork tenderloin, salad with butter lettuce and fresh shaved cheese....OH MY! I love the creative idea behind the dishes served. Flavor profiles were spot on in all dishes. For that reason alone, we would go back to this restaurant. Even the drinks will surprise you in tast and creativity! We had a Pink Nancy in honor of breast cancer which was wonderfully refreshing. We also had Red Sangria which we also like but were told the White is even better.

We were not impressed with the Churros for dessert...basically just fried dough with little flavor and chocolate sauce that needed a bit more sweetness for our taste.

Go in a couple (not a group) and order a lot of food...you'll like the food!

Smack dab in the middle of uber cool Decatur Square, the Iberian Pig successfully serves up Spanish tapas in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cheese and charcuterie plate is a must-try, and is served alongside an espresso aioli, which, honestly, would be good schmeared on anything. The pork cheek tacos are amazing, and oddly taste even better once they sit a moment and cool down. The BBQ octopus is flavorful and smoky and has no textural issues that calamari often has. Don't forget to sample a cocktail--each one is artfully concocted and watching it being made is part of the fun.

I am a repeat customer to Iberian Pig. In fact, my family dined there on opening night and had a long conversation with the owner's father. Last night, Feb 2010, my wife and I returned to dine there, hoping to introduce it to a good friend and business client. We did not have reservations, although this has never been an issue before. We were told by the three ladies at the front that our wait time would be about a half hour. We left and returned exactly a half hour later only to be told that we would be seated within "a few minutes." We obliged and stood by the bar waiting. Although others were given a menu to look at, no one came by to offer us one. Finally after another 20 minutes, my husband went to get a menu. An hour after we had put our name on the waitlist, we finally scored some seats by chance at the bar. We sat down, and were told again that it would be only another few minutes to be seated. We felt like we interrupted the bartender in order to get glasses of wine. He was rude, as if we were bothering him. My wife's bar chair was literally shaking, as it seemed to be on its last legs. I informed the bartender who only seemed to shrug his shoulders and said "sorry, i don't have another chair." I told him that it's really dangerous to have this chair out and that someone could fall. No one at the bar asked if we wanted to order food. We had to constantly nag the bartenders to order food or more drinks. Although the food was, as usual, the only redeeming quality, most of it came out very late, especially the burger, which arrived about 40 minutes after we ordered it without any apology or explanation. We spent a good deal of money but felt that the entire night was a disaster due to poor customer service. By the way, we were NEVER called by the hostess to be seated, even though we were consistently told that it would still be "a few minutes" whenever we asked. We have dined at many fine restaurants the world over and have lived all over Spain. We enjoy the food at Iberian Pig and find it exceptional. But in this town, you need a bit more than that in order to get people to patronize your establishment. Customer service was atrocious last night and we will never return as a result or recommend it to anyone as we had been doing since you opened.

Decatur needs more dining like this. Charming, on the square, this place rules. The jamon iberico, the prized spanish ham might cost some $15 for an appetizer, but it's well worth it. You could practically drink this meat. Atmosphere is part cool but not pretentious. Something that will be comfortable both now, and 10 years from now. There are big plates on the menu, but this is def a sharable spot, so my call is to get a bunch of apps and pass em around. Parking totally sucks, but the square is one of two places besides the airport that Marta actually makes sense!

Stephanie was a great server! The food could not be better. The trio of sausages is insuperable. I particularly loved the lamb sausage. It was gamey, but not overwhelming. The Wild Boar 'Albondigas" are better than expected. And to finish up the "Copa Catalana" is what "Creme Brulee" aspires to be...

Warm, Welcoming, Not one mistake while I was dining...

Walking in the old Sage location, and it was once one of our favorites in Decatur, we were wowed by the red and black Spanish Bordello feel. Eager staff, owner met us at the door, very friendly and eager. We decided to sit at the bar! Loved the blackboard, listing old-fashioned coctails, thought of my parents. Ordered two classic martini's. We thought the bartended had just gotten out of bartending school, making the drinks with a jigger. Was he worried about getting us drunk, or was just scared. I think it was the latter, and lacking in personality. The owner/compted, brought us Pork Cheek Taco's. Slow roasted pork cheeks, fire roasted corn salsa, avocado crems, arugula, and fresh lime. They were off the chart! We decided to make a dinner off the Tapas portion of the menu. First, it was Albondigas-fresh wild boar sausage-stuffed with piquillo peppers, Macedonian dates, and roasted peppers. We also had B.W.D., bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Manchego cheese, and walnuts. The tapas here is excellent, and creative. We will be back, to nosh on tapas. Hope they get a new bartender.

WENT IN TO CELEBRATE A GREAT DAY of WORK AT THE IBERIAN PIG ONLY TO FEEL A DEEP SENSE OF REGRET AFTER WE SAT AT THE BAR FOR LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES. OUR MOOD CHANGED DRASTICALLY AFTER BEING SERVED BY THOMAS, WHO COME TO FIND OUT IS THE BAR MANAGER. FOR SOMEONE LIKE MYSELF, WHO TENDED BAR FOR OVER TEN YEARS IN ATLANTA, I HAVE NEVER HAD A MORE DISSAPOINTING AND AWKWARD BAR EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. HAVING ZERO PERSONALITY AND LACK OF INTEREST IN YOU CUSTOMERS IS NOT A GOOD WAY TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU??RE POURING DRINKS WITH THE HELP OF A JIGGER, WHICH IN MY OPINION, IS THE TACKIEST THING TO DO IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS AND HURTS THE IMAGE OF THE RESTAURANT. IF YOU CANT GET YOUR BAR STAFF TO POUR A FOUR COUNT WHILE MAKING MIXED DRINKS THEN YOU SHOULDN??T BE THE BAR MANGER OR A BARTENDER!
AFTER STATING WE HAD WORKED IN THE BUSINESS OURSELVES HE NEVER ENGAGED US ON THAT QUESTION OR ANY OTHER?.AND WHEN WE ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION SUCH AS WHERE HE HAD WORKED OVER HIS TENURE IN ATLANTA AS A BARTENDER HE BECAME VERY ALOOF AND STATED THAT HE PREFERRED NOT TO TELL US WHERE HE HAD WORKED ??WHO SAYS THAT?? IT WAS JUST AWKWARD!!! TO PUT IT PLAINLY I WANTED MY CHECK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO TRY AND SALVAGE THE EXPERIENCE?WHICH I AM GLAD WE DID.
THANK GOD FOR OUR WAITRESS STEFANIE!!!WHO WAS FANTASTIC!!! (SHE SHOULD BE BEHIND THE BAR BY THE WAY). WE LET HER PICK OUR APPETIZERS AND COULDN??T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER?. WE ALSO HAD THE PLEASURE OF HAVING THE EXECUTIVE CHEF STOP BY THE TABLE AND GIVE HIS RECOMMENDATIONS. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND SERVICE AT THE TABLE WAS INCREDIBLE- I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK BUT I WILL DO MY DRINKING PRIOR AT THE BRICK STORE

We went there, as a group, for post business relaxation time. We started off at the bar where the bartenders used JIGGERS to poor our drinks. Folks, this isn't Applebee's and it ain't Chili's. You pour interesting drinks at Midtown prices, so put your big boy pants on and free pour, like a real bartender does. That's just simply tacky.

On a lighter note, the bar is stocked with many nice spirits, including a decent smattering of bourbons that no one offers in town.

Food: we had most of the tapas on the menu and 3 tapas that were specials that day. Things that stick out most: eggplant fries (though the red pepper aioli comes off more like spicy thousand island), BBQ Octopus, Salchicha 3 ways (3 types of sausage done right, and Bacon wrapped dates. You put anything in Benton's bacon, you can't go wrong.

Overall this is a really good restaurant. There are certain dishes to avoid in my opinion. The mussels added no character, flat breads, while good, are pure salt overflow, arugula salad (tasted like arugula with OJ sprinkled on it), Huevos con Trufa (while not bad, it did nothing to distinguish itself.

The latter half of our dinner (preferred dishes) was way better than how we started (the 1st set of dishes we ordered). I like Iberian Pig, it's better than most places in Decatur. It has great ambiance, a laid back staff, and the fact that it really distinguishes itself in ways that Sugo (it's mother restaurant) doesn't, is really nice.

But...more nuance in the food and a bar staff that doesn't pour corporate drinks would be nice. You have way too many bars/restaurants near you that offer free pour drinks at better prices (in elegant atmospheres). Don't do yourself this disservice and hand them the edge.

We were walking by to eat at our normal friday night spot and got captivated by the space so we headed in and we are so happy we did.

To start the menu is RICH to say the least... so much to choose from. We went through a few of the cocktails and found each creation as pleasing as the next. Still craving that 'Aviation'.
We ordered several tapas and found the portions to be very generous and most importantly deliciously surprising.
The modern twist on the spanish inspired food was perfection!!!
We then split the burger which is now my husbands favorite burger in atlanta. And lastly the desert... one word 'Bamba,' (sorbet rolled in white chocolate). Make sure to leave room cause this is such a nice finish to a fantastic meal.

Thanks Iberian Pig!... Can't wait to work my way through the menu!!!

The food is wonderful and it's a great place to go for drinks and a meal after work or on the weekends. If you just want drinks, you will be more than satisfied with the creative drink menu. If you want a few appetizers with those drinks, they have awesome meat and cheese plates that are great to share, but my favorite is the mushroom flatbread. Incredible. As for a meal, if you are with a group, order it like tapas and try everything. You don't want to miss a single thing on the menu.

The only drawback that I could see is there is a little too much going on on the menu...not food-wise, but in the text. The food speaks for itself more than the fun and sassy descriptions. Those are sometimes a bit much. The wine list is great and pretty extensive, but the layout on the menu is a bit confusing. If it was more simple, I would try more things, but I don't like feeling like I'm reading a magazine when I'm ordering wine. I think stylistically, the menu will get worked out, and obviously the layout of a menu has nothing to do with how fabulous a restaurant is. I will go there again and again and again. Five stars!

As the name implies, The Iberian Pig is devoted to porcine pleasures as practiced on the Iberian peninsula. The special cured pork of Spain and other Spanish-inspired dishes form the crux of the menu. More pan-Hispanic than exclusively…
