Experienced and reliable! Since we moved to the city several years ago, we have had multiple pets under the care of Dr. Q. We have been extremely impressed with her compassion and her novel approach to our pets' well-being.

Our dog Mckenna has been suffering from debilitating arthritis and allergies for years. Dr. Q took a hands-on personal approach and found that McKennas issues were a direct result of suboptimal nutrition.
She took the time to educate us on how to improve McKenna's diet and exercise regimen.

Overall, what sets Dr. Q apart from other providers is her reliability, trustworthiness and most-importantly individualized approach to animal care.

Thanks Dr. Q!!!

Dr. Quagliata was very nice so I hate to write this review but I do not want someone to have the same terrible experience I had. It was very convenient to use Dr Quagliata to give our pets shots at home and we enjoyed using her for this. But if your dog has a real issue I would highly recommend taking your pet to a more experienced vet. My dog had a hole leaking puss on his face which 20 mins of internet research ultimately revealed was an abscesed 4th premolar. Dr. Quagliata originally mistook the hole for a blemish and after it didn't go away she sent me to the AMC to have my dogs teeth cleaned and have X-rays done to determine the problem. She highly recommended Dr. Riback - Dr. Riback at the AMC charged me $1400 to clean my dogs teeth and remove 6 teeth - but they did not remove the tooth that was causing the problem! I think Dr. Quagliata should not have sent me to the most expensive place in the whole city to get this done and she should have made sure they pulled out the right tooth. Also, after reading the reviews, I found out the AMC is notorious for ""ripping people off"" After the hole did not heal, Dr. Quagliata and the AMC insisted it was highly unlikely the 4th premolar was the problem. I spoke to 3 other experienced vets who said the opposite - it was likely the 4th premolar. I had the 4th premolar removed and the problem went away immediately. One of the vets I consulted with after parting ways with Dr. Quagliata and the AMC said this in an email that I think sums the situation up nicely - ""Care of an abscessed tooth is not rocket science and it doesn't generally require a specialist unless something is very amiss. A veterinarian should not mistake a tooth root abscess for a ""blemish"" if they have been in practice a number of years."" Unfortunately, Dr. Quagliata was too inexperienced to help me in this situation and my dog had to suffer. It also cost me a lot of money $2500 for something that should have cost about $800.

Dr. Quagliata and her assistant came to see my 12 year-old chihuahua mix last night for the first time. She was instantly at ease and took to them both within minutes. Carolyn did a tremendous job of handling ""P"" during her examination and blood draw. I was especially impressed when Dr. Quagliata called in my dog's prescription on the spot and her assistant went to pick it up for me before the drug store closed. A tremendous service!

Sounds like just the vet for me and my varmint! I adopted an elderly kitty 2 years ago.

I took him to another very good vet last year and the office visit was fairly uneventful. When I got him back home he appeared to go into shock; his tongue hung out of his mouth sideways, his eyes got weird and he was breathing so hard I thought he was going to hyperventilate. This lasted only about 90 seconds, but he was clearly traumatized so I feel like a good house call veterinarian would be perfect for us. Plus I very much prefer alternative & dietary solutions.

Unfortunately, I've not received a return call 6 hours after leaving a voicemail message on a Tuesday. I also noticed that she has no emergency contact information on her outgoing voicemail message or anywhere else. While my current situation is not exactly an emergency, this is not a good sign IMO. I need a vet with good emergency backup.

I'm genuinely disappointed. After reading all of the glowing reviews I was thinking that maybe this was the vet for us. Sadly, I'll have to keep looking.

Update: We have a new vet! I'm so glad I made and kept the appointment with Dr. Q and her fantastic associate. Unfortunately I forgot the colleague's name, but she really kept my skittish varmint calm and comfortable. I can honestly say this was the least stressful vet session I've been through with a kitty.

My cat always hides when guests are over--he starts as soon as he hears the buzzer--but after his exam today he actually hung around to rub shins, purr and solicit petting. He usually avoids all guests, even the ones who don't restrain him, poke him, prod him, look at his teeth, stick something in his ear or jam needles into him. What an amazing difference!

Either my real varmint has been abducted by aliens and replaced with some sort of weirdly compliant Stepford zombie-cat, or we've found the perfect vet. I'll need to investigate further.

Dr. Quagliata cared for my 20 year old Persian during the last few months of her life. She provided extraordinary care. She responded quickly and compassionately to my concerns and helped guide me my cat's end of life. This was a highly emotional time for me as I had my cat since she was 8 weeks old. Dr. Quagliata's house call services enabled my cat to pass in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by those who loved her the most. She and her assistant were truly amazing, providing comforting words and thoughts as we said good-bye to a cherished family member. I highly recommend Dr. Quagliata.

I have a four year old puggle who panics every time we visit our local vet. She often has to be restrained for simple procedures like vaccinations.

This year, I tried Dr. Quagliata. She was kind, patient, and gentle with my dog. She was able to give her annual health exam and several vaccinations (DHLP, Rabies, and Bordetella) without any trouble.

Our experience was much calmer and easier than visiting our regular veterinarian's office. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Quagliata and will definitely use her services in the future.

I have a rottweiler and he's a big and heavy dog! He was really sick last week and I couldn't even get him to move to go to the vet. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Quagliata and told me that she comes to your home. I didn't even know a service like this existed in NYC! It was so convenient, and she was a life saver. She came right over and treated my dog. She was very patient and attentive to details. I was very impressed with her service that I am just going to keep her as my dog's primary vet. I recommend her to anyone who has a pet, she is phenomenal!

Dr. Quagliata was referred to me by both a neighbor and a vet working in the clinic I used near my apartment. These are two major pluses when a vet recommends another and two separate people refer someone. She did not disappoint. Carolyn came to my house several times, which made my dog MUCH more comfortable than visiting a vet office. She was both professional and caring. My dog is 14 years old and obviously in need of some special care and attention, which is exactly what Dr. Quagliata provided. We started with acupuncture sessions and I quickly realized she should care for all of my pet's needs. She has taken the time to answer my calls whenever I am concerned and encourages me to continue do so. Truth is, she has been a godsend! I know my dog is in great hands which is more than I could ask for. Anybody that is considering Dr. Quagliata should not hesitate to call her. You will quickly feel the same way I do.

Pros: Too Many To List

Oh the relief of not having to drag the cat to the vet's office anymore -- the anxiety of it all. Gone now that Dr. Q comes by. The convenience after years of stuffing our unhappy, uncooperative cat in her carrier can't be overstated, but what's even more exciting is Dr. Q herself. She is the consummate vet, gentle, professional, knowledgeable but with such a comfortable way about her, it's as if an old friend showed up in scrubs to give our cat a quick exam and a rabies shot. Turns out our cat does need medication. The matter was resolved in a few days -- a few e-mails, a single phone call and the meds arrived. Dr. Q is as conscientious as she is likeable. She's been by twice and her choice of assistants proves she's wise as well. Dr. Q was recommended by our vet's office and we're feeling very lucky they did.

When I got my first dog and had many many problems with him, I was stuck making a very difficult decision. Dr. Quagliata helped me through that process and ultimately supported me in what I thought was best. She was gentle and understanding with me! As I can see now with my current dog, she treats her canine patients with the same care. \r
Dr. Quagliata is the only doctor I will ever bring my animals to. She knows what tests or treatments are necessary and I never have to be concerned that I am being pressured to more procedures that only cost me more money. I have unfortunately experienced other vets who used my lack of knowledge to make themselves more money. Dr. Quagliata has a special way with animals (and people) and my dog (and I) actually look forward to seeing her! \r
She can always allay my fears and anxieties and is honest and sensitive when there are real concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Quagliata to anyone who truly loves their pet!

What can you say about a veterinarian who not only visits you in your home, but is a fabulous doctor. Carolyn came into our home and all three of my dogs took to her immediately. They just knew she was an animal person. Having three dogs, it is not easy to take them out on a trip to the vet. I often have to bring them in one at a time. Having Carolyn come to the house was a godsend. Not having my little Willie wimper as we approached the vet's office was worth a million dollars to me. But it was not just the convienence of having her come to the house. It was the care she gave the dogs. She treated them like they were my children, which they are. I will be a Dr. Carolyn fan forever, as will my children koko, Suzi ad Willie

I cannot say enough about Dr. Quagliata and the quality care she has given to my pets.

On a professional level, she is always prompt, clear, and a true expert in her field.

On a personal level, she is very personable and compassionate - when my animals are sick, it's can be very upsetting and I always feel a million times better after simply talking with Dr. Quagliata. And when she comes to treat the animals, I know they are receiving the best care possible. Her genuine compassion and love of animals is at the core of her work and makes a world of difference in receiving high quality care.

Her house call service has been a life-saver for my cat, who is traumatized by being put in a carrier to go to the vet. It used to take him days to get back to being himself after a trip to the vet's office. Now he gets amazing care in the comfort of our home, which is exponentially easier on him and me.

I felt like it was a true gift to find this doctor - you will too!

We have a 5 year old back labrador who is a part of our family and means everything to us. She has been lethargic with back pain for the better part of a year. Beckett has been to 3 different local vets who ran thousand of dollars of tests and only offered heavy pain meds which made him more drowsy and incontinent to the point that it was suggested we treat him for depression. We were referred to Dr. Q who has been a blessing. After several treatments with accupuncture, Beckett is feisty, active and playful. We feel like we have a puppy all over again and would recommend Dr Q to anyone looking for a Great vet who can come to your home!!

Dr. Quagliata has always been caring and compassionate to me and my little guys and their care and well being was always a top priority. I was especially happy with her acupuncture treatments as I had been to other pet acupuncturists before but none had the professionalism, knowledge or passion that Dr. Quagliata has. I highly recommend this Vet.

Going back to the fall of 2008, the foundation of my family had been experiencing severe pain & was simply not in high spirits.. Mookie my 10 year old Golden Retriever had started to break down and I was an emotional wreck. Mookie had issues climbing stairs and was not comfortable in one spot, all due to extreme arthritis in his back legs.\r
\r
A colleague introduced me to Dr. Quagliata and over time Mookie became his old self again. Dr. Quagliata showed up at my apartment on the same day I called her and immediately gave me thorough insight into acupuncture as an alternative treatment strategy. Dr. Quagliata explained by using the ancient Chinese medical art of acupuncture she has been able to help many dogs with lameness, inflammation, pain, and respiratory and gastrointestinal problems. It goes without saying that Mookie owes his new life to Dr. Quagliata. Mookie runs in the park and climbs stairs like the true athlete he always was. Dr. Quagliata has become more than just our House Call Veterinarian; she is now part of the family! \r
\r
If you are seeking alternative methods to treat your pet or if you have had no success with conventional treatment I implore you to call Dr. Quagliata and start acupuncture treatment ASAP! It really works and Dr. Quagliata House Call Veterinarian is the right Doctor for your animals! \r

I have a 6 year old labrador retriever. I have been fortunate enough to have Dr. Quagliata as my veterinarian since my lab has been a puppy. As many people could imagine, labradors are known for being active dogs whose curiosity can at times get them into trouble. No matter what the situation or what symptoms I shared with Dr. Quagliata, she accurately diagnosed the problem and immediately came up with a solution. She treats my dog as if its her own and responds to any and all questions that I have asked with patience and genuine sincerity. I trust Dr. Quagliata without hesitation as I know her heart is truly connected to every single one of her patients.

I wouldn't trust anyone else with my Ridgeback! Dr. Quagliata has always been committed to putting the health and well-being of the pets she cares for at the forefront or her priorities. It's very comforting to have a veterinarian I trust care for my dog who means the world to me.

I was lucky enough to have Dr Q referred to me by a friend who pointed out her competence, experience and compassion. Despite my high expectations, I was still presently surprised. She is pleasant, personable and professional. Her education has included training at the finest animal hospital in NY as well as advanced training in accupuncture. My 2 dogs are my life and I am so happy that a physician like Dr Q is available for house calls. Highly recommended!

Pros: Knowledgeable, accomodating, convenient

Dr. Quagliata was recommended to me by a friend for veterinary acupuncture and it changed my dogs life. I have an older yellow lab with arthritis in his back legs. When Dr. Quagliata met him he was having a really hard time walking and coudln't go up or down stairs anymore. After about the 4th acupuncture treatment his energy level got better and he was able to run and play. He can even jump on our bed again! Now we only have to have Dr. Quagliata come to our house to give him acupuncture about once a month and he continues to great.\r

I really cannot tell you how happy I am with Dr. Quagliata. I never knew acupuncture worked this well!!!!Now my dog is happy again and that means the world to me!

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Quagliata. She has been providing care for my 14- year- old dog Sadie for the past 6 years; Dr. Quagliata is friendly, engaging and efficient and we always look forward to seeing her. Not only does Dr. Quagliata treat Sadie like her own, but she is trustworthy and easy to reach at all times regardless of the concern. Dr. Quagliata is matter of fact, answers all my questions, and very knowledgeable about medicine- I trust her 100%.

My Cat Darby has been getting chronic eye infections her whole life. No vet has ever been able to figure out why. A couple of months ago her eye was the worst it has ever been. Her medicine was not working and she seemed to be in a lot of pain. I had no idea what to do so I called DR. Quagliata and she came to my apartment at 10PM!!! She was wonderful and she was able to diagnose Darby!! Finally after all these years! Darby has feline herpes in her eye. I cannot no other vet was ever able to figure this out. She gave me medicine to put in Darby's food each night and Darby has never had an eye infection again!!

I have an 11 year old cat that has had really bad upper respiratory issues. She HATES going to the vet, and prefers to hang out on the window sill and hang out, but, she needs meds and needs check ups often due to her breathing issues. Dr. Quagliata rocks. She not only came to my house to check up on my cat, but she showed me how to give her medicine properly. She comes monthly and is phenomenal. Her location is awesome too. I highly recommend her.
