The WORST ""tv repair serviceman"" you could possibly go to...\n\nI spent $100 for his ""labor charge"" for him to come out and take a look at my Toshiba TV. After 5 minutes of poking at it with a voltmeter, he tells me that my mainboard isn't outputting the correct voltage to turn the TV on and that I'll need to replace it (a $375 part, plus $200 for labor? lol..)\n\nI say there's no way I'm spending $500 to fix a TV I bought 3 years ago for $1k, and that if I find the part refurbished I will call him back to come out and take a look at it.\n\nI call him back once I get a second mainboard ($90 or so on my part) and he tells me that he doesn't know what's wrong with the TV. He refuses to come back out and look at it (without ANOTHER labor charge LOL @ THIS GUY) and now I have 2 mainboards sitting next to a broken TV. \n\nI learned more about what's wrong with my TV from internet boards and forums than I did from TOM. He might be an electrician, but he is also a cheat. After 20minutes on the phone w/ him, he refused to refund my initial $100 (since he gave me an incorrect/incomplete diagnosis) and so now I am out an additional $190. Still, with a broken tv.\n\nIt's most likely the PSU (power supply) on my TV that is busted. I learned this after hours of research and self-diagnosis. I went further than Tom did and examined the fuses on the PSU and noticed burn damage that was likely the cause of the original problem. Despite this, Tom denies missing anything and will not refund the money.\n\nSave yourself, and your $100. Take your TV to a REAL repair shop and don't waste time diddly-daddling with Tom. He will scam you and leave you hanging out to dry.\n\nThanks again, Tom, for your help. LOL.
