Erin: Your bias is showing- you've been shopping elsewhere for 10 years- give this new store a break- she's brand new and still expanding. Simsbury used to have several vitamin stores years ago, & I'm glad to see one is back in town. I say Thank God we have a choice- finally!

Cool little shop. They've done a great job in a short time. Owner really knows her stuff, strong on science and current research without the New Age-y stuff in most health food stores. Parking is great, store has that soap/candle smell without choking fake scents, & the backyard is a wonderful hideaway. The local arts & crafts is a nice touch. It's hard to find well-made local goods. There's a New England angle to many product lines. If they don't have it, special orders are fast and problem-free.

When I walked into this new shop, I was so confused.....what exactly is this place supposed to be? It is just strange and not worth the stop. Very little to look at and the owner (I assume) was overbearing and rude and just plain odd.
It smells weird and has no rhyme or reason to it. I sure miss the old Trumpet Vine - now THAT was a place worth stopping at! I think that whoever opened this store doesnt really know what they are doing - is it arts and crafts or a wanna-be vitamin shop or a flea market or what?
Let hope something of the quality of the Trumpet Vine finds its way back to this location. This place just cant last.

Business Response:

I'm sorry you were confused, Erin. You probably caught us when we just opened. Since March, 2010, we've more than doubled stock, reorganized and resorted into easier groupings, and really settled in. No-one here is particularly overbearing, just the opposite, so I really am sorry you had this experience. Why not drop in and chat with us about your experiences? We try very hard to not emulate any other health food store or any business that used to be here. I have 30 years experience with herbs, we offer local crafts, and flea market is only for the high quality furniture we use for displays. All of the old shabby chic of the Trumpet Vine has been removed.
