I'd change the name of this place too under the circumstances. But it's still the same food and the same employees. and that's not good

My 17 y/o female friend, while working with the Alabama Beverage Commission, recently visited Anthony's undercover to see if they would sell her alcohol. She and her "date" (a cop with the ABC) ordered Bud Lites. They were appropriately carded and my friend showed them her real underage ID. The waitstaff refused to sell and summoned the bartender, who came to the table and loudly excoriated the pair, demanding that they leave the restaurant and creating an uncomfortable scene for other diners. My friend and the cop immediately exited the restaurant but were followed onto the sidewalk by the manager, who continued to yell at the couple. The cop identified himself, displayed his badge and attempted to calm the manager down. But the manager slapped at the badge, knocking it to the ground. The manager attempted to grab my young friend, but she dodged him. He chased her around the building to the back parking lot before the Anniston police and ABC police intervened to protect her. Even then, he continued his tirade and threatened my friend, "if I ever see you again, you should be afraid!"
This man is unstable...

we really enjoyed our visit to Anthony's on 14 December; both my wife and I had a feta cheeseburger... the burgers were great ! , but the fries.. well they weren't all that great, and not what I would have expected, considering the price. The atmosphere was great as was the service. We were by around 12:00 and with the exception of one other couple, the place was empty We plan to go back for pizza soon but hope that the managers/owners will consider a better choice of fries...and, perhaps, a luncheon menu a little less costly....

This was the most unique place iv ever been to. The wood burning brick oven pizza reminded me of being back in New York where they have the best pizza ever! and the service was great! I will be back real soon.

I've never seen a pizza place with that much booze. The owner is a nasty little man who's rude to the employees and not that nice to the customers. I don't think he knows what he's doing. The food is average but the atmosphere in there is stressful. We were glad to get out. Pizza Hut is better.

This group thought the food was outstanding. It wasn't too busy, service was great and we got our food in a resonable time. Had calzone, lasagna, sloppy joes and zucotti. We got to taste some of all. The food didn't leave you heavy after eating. One of the best Italian eaterys around. I really liked talking to the elder lady who was very knowledgable about Italian cooking and customs. The rice balls were exceptinal and a must order

We went with a group to Anthonys last Friday, and all I can say say is wow!! It is about time Anniston has a break from "wings and things" that everyone else seems to offer around here. The pizza and calzones were exceptional, and the staff made us feel at home. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to get out of a rut and try something new.

A group of us and our kids who were in Anniston to compete at the CMP Summer Rifle Camp went to Anthony's on the recommendation of one of the local newspapers. All I can say is that the owner must have paid the paper to write nice things about this excuse for a restaurant.

The service was SLOW - their excuse was that they were "slammed", but 1/4 of the tables were empty. It took forever to get a few burgers, a calzone and a personal pizza from the kitchen.

The food was marginal at best. My sausage calzone had about a Jimmy Dean patty's worth of sausage in it and not much else - certainly not worth the $7 or so that I paid for it. Not to mention the flavor was less that that of something frozen you'd buy at Food Lion. The boy's burgers "tasted like cardboard", their quote, not mine. The cheeze pizza might have had some cheese on it....

The worst part about this restaurant was the OWNER. He was so worried (or excited) about his new wood burning oven that he TOTALLY ignored what was going on in his restaurant. He had 2 customers sit at the counter right behind him working the oven. While he just about hit them numerous times with his oven spatula / tool, he never spoke to them once. He did not take their order and after sitting there 20 minutes they just got up and left.

This restaurant is destined to fail unless the owner actually gets involved. You are wasting your time and money if you go to Anthony's.
