.

I recently shopped at A'Gaci, with my 2 children (one was FIVE!). My 5 year old and I looked at the jewelry as my teenage daughter looked for clothes. A sales associate kept hanging around me, and even as I sat on a chair by the dressing room, she was cleaning the tops of the racks right by where we sat..where the hangars hang from! We finally purchased some items and had to tell the salesgirl repeatedly that we did NOT want any camis, or shirts, or headbands (she was getting quite annoying). We then signed up for the rewards card, giving them our full address/phone info. Upon leaving the store I was stopped by a different associate and a mall cop and told that the first salesgirl saw me look at a necklace and not put it back. I told her I didnt steal, and even showed them my purse -- in the entrance to their store in the mall, in front of passers-by! The sales associate then rudely said to me "maybe you slipped it in your pocket". RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! Frazzled, I left with my two children. I called the store to get the manager's name, and the sales associate who had questioned me was rude on the phone and demanded to know who I was when I asked her for the manager's name. I talked to the store manager the next day and she was apologetic. She referred me to the corporate office.....the director of Loss Prevention. He was the rudest SOB I have talked to in a long time! I got the feeling from him that they still think I stole necklaces (now it's more than one). He told me I had to sympathize with THEM because they just want to make sure all their merchandise is put in the right place "at the right price points" for customers. Hello...that's called cleaning up the store after shoppers. He told me they were not accusing me of stealing....hmm....is it normal practice to stop customers with mall cops just because they think you put an item back on the wrong spot? He said I wouldnt have been allowed to walk away WITH MY GUESTS if I had shoplifted. RUDE--- my "GUESTS" were my very impressionable 5 YEAR OLD CHILD, AND MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER!!! Only the local store manager apologized to me. I will never shop at A'gaci again. And I caution others.....before you have to go through the embarassment and humiliation I did. Teenagers shopping without parents should especially be cautious.....they wont let you walk away as I was able to.
