I went for a regular wellness visit for my Daughter on March 18, 2013. I would like to share my experience with the visit.
1.The most important part first. I was told that a hearing/vision test would be done. However NO ONE discussed with me the results of these tests and what is on the form that was provided to me is simply cryptic to me. (This is very bad).
2. Blood was drawn for some blood work and I HAVE NO clue what this is for. This could be a routine / normal thing but as a parent I think it is not too much to ask to help understand what sort of tests and what sorts of shots are being given for the day. (This is again bad. You see if Im a pediatrician and know enough about these things I wont be visiting Kennesaw Pediatrics. Right?)
3.With my previous pediatrician, every time the kids needed series of shots, (usually more than one) they ALWAYS had two nurses administer the shots simultaneously and it was instantly done. I was surprised to see they dont do this.
4.Scheduling is horrible. I waited close to 40 minutes today. Last time it was close to one hour for my youngest. If they could communicate to you how long the wait is (in spite of you scheduling ahead and waiting), perhaps it would provide an opportunity to change your conflicting schedule accordingly.
5.You call to schedule; the person taking the schedule could easily provide you a link to fill in questionnaire related to your visit or to login and do the same. You go in your scheduled time and they either give you an ipad or a paper workbook to fill information in.
6.Heres the problem with this approach. This paper work you need to fill in, you need to fill in Patient Name / Parents Name / SS # etc, etc,. (Which they already have in their system, or dont they for real??). As important the doctors and nurses time is, parents time is equally important. Try going to the airport and make an excuse to hold the flight for you because youre a health care practitioner or you run one.
7.I still remember the doctor I used to see when I was a kid. Hell even stop and ask me when I run in to him in store etc, to ask how Im doing and so on,.. I previously had a visit with Kennesaw Pediatrics for my youngest daughter. . I firmly believe that kids are more excited to see a familiar face rather than a different doctor every time. What surprises me is that they dont recommend this when you call to schedule. I was suggested a random practitioner but I insisted that I see the practitioner that I saw before.
8.I initially chose Kennesaw Pediatrics based on the feedback from other parents on their website feedback page. I hope that my comments are also included and considered as constructive criticism rather than a complaint.

I really like Dr. Chander. She really understood what I was trying to tell her. She really listens and, I just enjoy having a doctor that listens. Plus there aren't any little kids at this doctors office making me feel like a giant. This doctors office is by far the best doctor ever. - Pamela Rathbone, Kennesaw, GA

Dr. Chander is very friendly and was not in a rush. The office staff was very helpful. I had a great experience and I'm not used to saying that at the pediatricians office. Reese M., Kennesaw, GA

I just wanted to let people know what a wonderful Pediatric office that we have in Kennesaw!! I have two children- 11, and 13 who have been going to Kennesaw pediatrics since the youngest was 5. They Always have room for my children when they are sick, even when I call at 4:00! They are open on Saturdays and Sundays ( which I've never seen before!) and the Doctors and staff are always happy to see my kids. I have an asthmaic child who gets sick quite often and they always make me feel like my child is a priority and I never feel like they are rushed to get on to the next patient. That is invaluable to me. My Daughter mostly see's Dr. Brugner, but have seen Dr. Long ( who is so wonderful with the kiddos!) Dr. Yount, DR. Levine and Dr. Babu. My Son generally see's Dr. Strauss. Even when seeing Dr.'s that we may not see all the time, they seemed to have all their information at their fingertips and I felt really comforted by this!

Having just had a bout of Strep and then my poor little asthmatic having issues we have been at the office Twice this week and I just had to sing their praises!! Thank you so much to the Doctors and staff who are always so friendly, and take such great care of my kids!!

This is truly a fantastic office!

Switched to Kennesaw Pediatrics after being a patient of Kenmar for 10 years. Because I was frustrated that I could never get a same day appt, calls were not returned in a timely manner, and could never see my doctor, and wait times were horrendous, we decided to switch to Kennesaw Pediatrics. I don't regret it for a second. Can always get an appointment. They even have sick visit appts of Sat and Sun, which is great if you need it. Office is clean, staff and doctors are friendly, records are computerized, prescriptions are faxed directly to pharmacy. TVs in patient rooms which makes any wait time bearable. Had to call after hours for an emergency and that was handled very efficiently too. That about sums up this well run pediatric practice!

Kennesaw Pediatrics is a great practice in the Kennesaw area. Have liked all the doctors we have interacted with and had a very good overall experience. their website is www.kennesawpediatrics. They give office tours where us meet a doc and chat with them. We are are very pleased with them and would not consider changing docs. They are very high tech, but still personable and caring. Very kids friendly, separate sick/well/newborn rooms and even have online access to the office 24/7. We have even gotten a phone call from our doctor "just to check up and see how our son was doing". Now that was IMPRESSIVE.

I am a first time mother, and Kennesaw Pediatrics was recommended to me by 3 of my friends (which I think says a lot about them). We see doctor Brugner, and she is always patient and very kind. I know that she really cares about my little boy, and she is fun too! The staff is also great. They are always willing to answer my new parent questions, and make me feel like my questions are worthwhile - even the ones that I'm embarassed to ask!

My child goes to Kennesaw Pediatrics. The office has been recently remodeled and is very clean and interesting for children. The toys seem to distract from the wait time and the exam itself. They are good about getting you in right at your appointment time, and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this pediatric office to any parent.

My son has been going to Kennesaw Pediatrics since he was born - he is now two. I love the doctors at the office. Everyone is VERY friendly, VERY helpful, and VERY supportive. As a first time mother, I have a lot of questions, and the staff is always very willing and able to put my mind at ease and suggest things to try for areas in which I am having difficulty. The office itself has recently been redone, and is very clean and welcoming. I would recommend this office to ANYONE!

My step-daughter loves seeing Dr. Long. She feels very comfortable seeing him as he makes her visits "fun visits". The office is so "kid friendly" from the moment you walk into the office. The first thing you see is the huge train track in the ceiling that kids can activate by pushing the big red button on the wall & it extends both waiting rooms. There is a beautiful salt water aquarium, flat screen tv's in both waiting rooms and in the exam room.I love how clean and sterile the office is and I am also impressed that there is a totally separate entry to the newborn waiting room too. I could go on and on about how great it looks but it truly boils down to one thing and that's how your treated by the staff (which is so friendly and welcoming the minute you walk in the door) from the girls in the front to the nurses & doctors in the back. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this office to everyone!

Pros: Saturday hours, welcoming atmosphere, popcicle & sticker after each visit

Cons: No cons that I can think of at this time!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our 3 years here. The staff is smiling and happy, the doctors are knowledgeable and caring, and the kids act more like its a trip to the amusement park than a doctor visit. From the time you walk in the door (TOTALLY SEPARATE entrance for our newest... which we have not found ANY other place we visited) the kids are smiling and happy to be hanging out with their friends. The office is sparkling clean every time we visit. The separate sick/well rooms and the patient alert communicator that keeps you updated as things progress. I just wish I was young enough to go there.

Pros: office style and decor, and CLEANLINESS

Cons: They still have to give shots.. ughhh

We switched to Kennesaw Peds. a couple years ago... my kids love Dr. Thrower especially, even ask if they can go to each other's appointments to see her. Everyone there is friendly, accessible, and easy to talk to. We had a lot of success getting my underweight daughter to gain with the help of this office...with no drugs or steroids even suggested. Also they have eased my mind from time to time on those "freaked-out mom" issues. Very easy to get appointments, remodeled office looks great!

I changed from a nearby practice where my kids had been for years and what an amazing experience. Unlike before, I could call and speak with a person and get an appointment the same day if my child was sick or within a few days for checkups. The doctors were willing to listen to my worries about vaccines and whatever else. The staff was smiling and happy and the office was bright and clean. We have been there over a year now and have no regrets.
