Miyad Beis Jericho is a welcoming spirtual place, made that way by the kind congregants and Rabbi Chanan and his wife, Aliza. Whether celebrating, counseling, eating or learning torah - my experiences have been uplifting and life-changing. It's also just a good time! Having been to quite a few synagogue's, I can say with full heart that this is home.

This Chabad in Jericho is the best! I live right behind JJC and recently found out about this Chabad House right in the middle of East Birchwood and I was so phsyched!! We have really needed a Chabad House in Jericho for so long!! When I went to introduce myself to the Rabbi and Aliza they were soooo kind and warm. Apparently, Rabbi and Aliza didn't grow up ortho, so I really hit it off with them, I felt like I knew them my whole life! It's so nice to have people who know about the world AND spirituality, and can express it. They seem to attract a very intellectual crowd, but who are beginners in Judaism - so cool!! <3 If you have never been to a Chabad House before - check this one out!!

I come from a reform/conservative background, truthfully never too inspired about going to Temple. I met Rabbi Krivisky from Miyad in Jericho on Long Island about a year ago in Starbucks by Whole Foods and we struck up a conversation. He tells me this line "Labels are for shirts, not for Jews", and I was a little skeptical, but I went to his Shabbos table in his home, and the guy walks-the-walk and talks-the-talk. I love this Rabbi. I am not bragging but I went to an Ivy League school, and apparently Rabbi Krivisky was a Judaic Studies prof., and Rabbi K. knows his stuff, he speaks about Torah-authentic teachings explained clearly, with no watering down. Yet, he has a special quality where the listener feels empowered. Great Rabbi, great Shabbos table. Jericho is lucky to have such a Jewish organization, Miyad is going to be really sucessful.

I called Rabbi Krivisky to ask a question, and not only was he very helpful, he invited me to Shabbos dinner at his home. Rabbi Krivisky and his wife Aliza Krivisky made me feel so comfortable.
The wonderful atmosphere at their home, (and the great food)
made me feel connected. I now have a "Jewish connection" on Long Island that I treasure

My first time meeting Aliza Krivisky was by a Women's Circle event that she holds at her home monthly. It was a Challah baking event, with the how-to's in baking Challah, and what it means to bake Challah as a Jewish women. A lot of the women from the neighborhood (East/West Birchwood in Jericho) were there, all very lovely people - which made me feel welcome - though I really didn't know them personally. Aliza was great! She was so friendly, and informative, giving the background of Jewish Challah and hands-on with all of the steps to bake - she really made it a fun interactive evening. 5 stars. Would def. go again.

MiYaD is probably the best kept Jewish secret on Long Island. They are in Jericho. Rabbi Krivisky is seriously an awesome guy. His wife, Aliza and kids round out the most fun, spiritual experience I have ever had since I attended Chabad in California. The only difference Rabbi Krivisky knows about life from all perspectives, he could talk to a child or an 80 year old, doesn't matter. They have a great community with a lot of character from all different backgrounds. It's worth visiting their website www.miyad.org or just popping by a class or minyan. You'll be impressed by the warmth and sincerity, that is often missing in the "BIG" temples on LI.
