If you want the best trainer- call Marks-A-Lot! We drive from Colorado to purchase our dogs from- and have them trained by Marks-A-Lot. My dog has been trained by Dan and crew and we would never consider anyone else. My dog is treated like a queen at the kennel and is a MaSter Hinter and qualified for the 2015 a master National

Be VERY careful. What was promised and guaranteed didnt happen. I took my dog to Marks-A-Lot kennel to get the basic obedience training and was very dissatisfied.

The short end:
Dan and the trainers didnt evaluate my dog to see what she knew. She still had all of her bad habits. Dan treated me and my dog with much disrespect (threatened to set her loose on his grounds and/or tie her up to his fence until I got there to pick her up).

Some details:
Upon arrival Dan listened and agreed to what needed to be worked on. When I picked my pup up after a month, I quickly learned that she was not evaluated properly and learned nothing new from when I dropped her off. One of her worst habits that I was hoping to remedy is her jumping (which she still does today) and was not corrected by her trainer.

When I confronted Dan about this and notified him of his guarantee, he allowed me to bring her back, but when I called to make sure all was well, he got furious and was yelling on the phone, called me an idiot multiple times, and threatened my dog.

I of course left work, drove back out there, and picked her up immediately.

I would highly recommend staying clear away from this place and would hate to see anyone else (and their dog) subject to what I had to deal with.

Two years ago I purchased a female labrador from Dan Keilty - owner of Marks-A-Lot Kennels. She was already retrieving on the day I picked her up at 6 weeks old! He starts the pups early! Champion Hunter or Champion Companion - Dan has beautiful, intelligent animals - quality retrievers to suit your purpose!
