They are probably the worst moving company in the history of in and out moving. Hiring them was easy, but then the trouble started. On the move out, they were 2 hours late. When they finally arrived, they were quick in wrapping things up, but told me that I had more stuff than they had ancitipated and that I must pay more for storage. The kept my furniture in storage for three months and somehow managed to break the back board of my bed - which is made of massive plywood, 2 inches thick, and heavy. God knows how they did that. They also delivered some of the boxes upside-down, causing heavy items on the bottom to fall onto the light (and fragile) items on the top, killing 4 wine glasses and a lamp shade. Their claims process is a nightmare, too: you need to provide photos, original receipts of the items purchased, and a confirmation of ownership - all in paper, nothing electronically. In the end, they even wanted to charge me for the extra month of storage that they had promised me when I hired them. Conclusion: Stay away, save yourself some trouble.

Just a short note to let whoever wants to you know, how pleased I was with the two-stop move that I booked with In and Out Moving Company for June 30, 2008. The three movers worked quickly, and expertly wrapped all furniture in padded blankets, making sure to tape the blankets around the legs of the furniture to avoid unnecessary scratches. They willingly and without complaint bubble-wrapped a large, heavy mirror before wrapping the mirror with a padded blanket. They were careful with the furniture during the move and, just as importantly, they were careful not to scratch or nick walls when moving the furniture and boxes out of the old apartment and into the newly painted condo.

I was also pleasantly surprised at how quickly the drivers effected the move. I was expecting that the move would take much longer and cost me much more than it actually did. Considering that the first stop was in the northern suburbs to pick up two dressers, a nightstand, and a few boxes, and that the next stop was in Chicago, where the movers had to move a 1-bedroom apartment (and 27 medium sized boxes and 9 bubble-wrapped paintings) into their truck and then unload everything at a condominium several blocks away, it took only 4 hours. And that included the 50 minutes it took to drive from my house in the suburbs to the second stop in Chicago AND the time that it took for the movers to disassemble and assemble the furniture. That shows how fast your movers worked!

My daughter moved from Denver to Godfrey, IL and placed all of her belongings in a storage unit. When she found a job in Chicago, we called In and Out. BIG MISTAKE! At first we were told they would arrive at 4 pm Thursday. That morning they called and said it would be 6 pm. When 6 pm came and went, I called the mover. Good thing I called. Apparanetly they were not going to call me. He said it would be around 10 pm. I told him the storage facility was locked at that time so he said he would meet us there first thing in the morning. I scheduled an 8 am Friday move. Well, 8 am came and went. At first they did not answer their phone. When I finally reached the movers, he said he had to weigh his truck and he would be there in about a half an hour, more or less. What a nightmare. There is so much to do to move to another town so far from home. We have had to put our lives on hold since 4 pm yesterday. I see that others have to resort to litigation. Oh well.

i have just moved with this company and i have got to tell you that the crew was unbilivebly fast and very carefull. i have used other movers before and this one by far get to be the most crefull and profesional.

I just did a move last week within Chicago and this company was great! The people on the phones there are so nice and easy to talk to and they fielded all my questions without having to put me on hold, which told me they really knew what they were doing. I've moved a couple of times before and had horrible experiences. This time I was willing to pay more and not have all my stuff broken.

On the day of the move, the guys were great. Big thumbs up to Oscar and the other two for working fast and being polite to me. It's hard to be a woman alone with three strange men and they made it easy. Nothing was broken, although I did have a small scratch on the bottom of an old dresser, which they said they would take care of if I wanted (which I didn't.) Overall, I was very happy and this renewed my faith that there are good movers in Chicago.

I couldn't have asked for a better move. If you are looking for a good moving company, I suggest this one.

I wish I had read all the other reviews before I TRUSTED this company. I was supposed to move 1 mile within the city on 11/11/2007 and I confirmed the movers multiple times for this SUNDAY move. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP, THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE, THE DISPACHER NEVER RETURNED MY CALL! I was stuck, I had to move, wihtout movers, a truck or anything!!! I was at the end of my wits! I could not believe that a MOVING COMPANY can leave a person high and dry in Chicago like this! What an outrage! I had to scramble to get ym firends to help me and this made EVERYTHING SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT! Thankfully I did not have to PAY in advance. I can't help but wonder, what if I did not have any firends with trucks to help me????

Condition of our belongings upon delivery - Several pieces of furniture dinged, dented, damaged. Several pieces of china were broken (but not enough to meet the deductible on our insurance). Bikes were unridable and required hundreds of dollars in maintenance to repair.

Response of management - Did not return phone calls until we retained a lawyer. With a litigation looming, we got a decent settlement. But needless to say, we will not go with this company again.

This has been the absolute worst experience in moving I have ever delt with. I am sitting here in my apartment at 11:45 PM February 21st. When I initially talked to a rep on the phone, I asked how much time in advance the movers would need to meet me at my storage unit to get to a different state by February 17th at th latest. They gave me a date of Feb. 10th, so I met them there. They said, we have the movers marked down to arrive the 16th, 17th at the latest. I call to confirm these dates on the 16th morning. The long distance manager was rude, of no help, and claims the company has a policy of 7-10 business days from when you tell them to meet you there. I see this no where on their web site, and there is no paper work stating that is the care. He finally agrees on the 21st with me 7-9 PM time frame. Here I am at almost midnight, no movers. I also requested a confirmation e-mail saying they would be here 7-9 tonight. I called the dispatcher earlier, he says he will see where they are. Said they would arrive at 10-11 PM tonight, still not here. I think if enough people complain on this web site, we should take them to court as a group......It would be the best way to take them down! They should NOT be in business.

The movers showed up at my house on Nov 16, 2006 at 1pm and then realized they didnt have enough room on their truck for my stuff because they had 2/3 of the truck already full with someone elses stuff. So needless to say they had to do two trips! They were at my house till 4 AM loading the truck. I got my first shipment a little over a wk later which was good timing, but they lost the legs to my antique dinnet set, the frame to my sons bed, broke dishes, broke crystal glasses, a night stand is missing, broke the handle off my grill, smashed the right side in on the grill, and a shelf to my computer stand is missing. My second shipment they didn't pick up till the first week of Dec. They dropped that shipment off on 1/6/07 and they broke 7 glasses,casserole dishes, a glass canister, an antique pitcher that is about 60 years old that was my grandfathers and a matching glass, a fish bowl, 2 of my easter decorations, the handle on my sons bycicle, and my salad bowl that was a wedding gift. It seems like every box that was labeled glass, the box was crushed and smashed. I still have a missing box that had at least 25 shot glasses and 5 wine glasses in it. I don't know how they can just lose a persons belongings and so many of them. I had to call the company many times to find out if they found my items and the answer was always no. I packed myself, but this is my 5th time moving in 7 years so I know how to pack right. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I don't even care about the money, most of these items have sentimental value from people in our family who are no longer living that were passes down to me. I am telling everyone I know to not use this moving company.

Don't use this company. They shouldn't be in business. No matter who you decide to use, get GOOD insurance. Don't settle for the basic insurance a lot of companies include in they prices.

So they said they would work it out and arrive at their scheduled time (which was in the contract to begin with). Needless to say they arrived 8 HOURS late, no phone call (I called them 7 times, each time they said they would be there within 30 minutes). No apology from the company and they did not return calls that were placed to their customer service rep. Be CAREFUL if you move with them.
