I showed up, understandably depressed, starting out the new year spending 8 hours at traffic school. I was a bit confused when I arrived at the location and it appeared to have been very recently on fire. I heard a rap-a-tap-tap from a window on the second floor above me. The teacher escorted me over the ashes and brought me upstairs into a chilly and disorganized classroom. The restaurant below had caught fire the day before, and he still held the class. The smell of burned building was overwhelming, and within 2 hours most of us had sore throats and burning eyes. No air breaks without adding time to the 8 hour class time. He told jokes I found somewhat offensive, and I'm pretty chill. Then, he agreed to mail me my certificate since I couldn't find my paperwork that morning (totally my fault) but then he sat on it for 5 days making me late in submitting my paperwork (still somewhat my fault, but annoying nonetheless). Overall, SNL couldn't have done a better parody of traffic school. I hope to never attend traffic school again...which will keep me from speeding...which I suppose is the point...

The previous reviewer is referring to the wrong driving school. The reviewer is referring to "San Francisco Driving School" which is located diagonally across the street from "A-Safe Way Driving School". People often get these 2 driving schools mixed up because they are located at the same intersection. "A-Safe Way Driving School" is definitely not cheap and the instructors do not have the students run errands for them! You can visit "A-Safe Way Driving School's" website at www.DrivingTheSafeWay.com. To be fair, I will also list the website of the other "San Francisco Driving School": www.sfdriving.com

PROS: Great reputation, in business since 1980
CONS: Not cheap

This is an OK driving school. He is one of the cheapest in SF but I guess the phrase you get what you pay rings through with this firm. I have used them in the past and while they teach you the basics there is a lot left to be desired. The biggest complaint from my kids was that he had them running errands during their driving lesson. While this is good practice learning how to navigate the City streets I find it a bit troubling that I am paying him so he can get his errands done. That may just be me and the way I think but that never really sat well with me. He also forgot to show up for one lesson we were not charged but it still is not that good of a sign. He did teach my kids how to drive however I felt that he could be a bit more professional and a bit more focused on customer service.

PROS: Cheap / Easy location
CONS: lack of professionalism
