Vineyards of Style was held last week at the palazzo. it was a great chance to try different wines and sakes from around the world. to make it even better the $$ went to a good cause! i was most impressed with the tyku both that spiced the event up a bit. Not only were they serving their sake, but they also had a table set up for sake bombs. These events can sway to boring side, and i love when i company spices it up a bit!

I was staying at the palazzo resort last week and happened upon this wine tasting event! Just my luck! I always seem to find these fun, interesting events to go to on vacation!\nMy husband and I sampled wines from all over the world, and I even tasted sake for the first time! It's similar to a white wine, so it was delicious with all the appetizers being walked around!

The best part of my stay in Vegas was by far shopping at the Max Mara store!! You must stop by the store before you leave town!

I loved the Palazzo but was so put off by the service (well, lack of) at the pool that I just had to write a review. You can order drinks, but they won't bring you food. They handed me a menu to a Wolfgang Puck cafe that had patio seating near the pool and said I could go to the walk-up window and order something to go, and then bring it back to where we were sitting.\r\n\r\nWhen I got to the walkup window, there was a line and a sign on the wall that had about 1/2 of the 10 things that were offered on the physical menu. So much for that meatball sandwich I wanted !! When I got to the front of the line, I asked the guy behind the counter why the servers didn't bring food to people sitting at the pool. He said Wolfgang owns both restaurants by the pool, so its a monopoly (as if that explained it) I kind of couldn't believe what I was hearing so I blinked and he added, ""So if you want to eat, YOU have to come to US."" Now THERE's a hospitality slogan to be proud of !! I thought it was a glaring oversight at an otherwise fantastic resort. Who wants to stand around in a cave sticking your head through a window into a kitchen then waiting for another 20 minutes, when you could be sitting with your friends in the sun? \r\n\r\nThere are just too many other places to choose from with awesome rooms and service to match, and after a late night out, then rolling out to the pool after coffee and Excedrin, it's kind of a must to have someone willing to bring you a snack when you realize you're ravenous but still too hypoglycemic to make the effort to go out and hunt it yourself.
