The only reason there is two stars and not one is that the employee that I spoke to on the phone was very nice and helpful. Rachel, I think she is the manager, is another story. I bought a Groupon for a massage, so seeing I just moved into the area I thought I would try them out for a haircut as well. They were unable to find any time with in the next two months that I would be able to get my massage and hair cut at the same visit. I had to make two separate appointments. The appointment for the hair cut took three separate phone calls just to find a time that was free for me to get an appointment. The massage wasn't able to be scheduled except for more than a month in the future. (Why sell Groupons if you have no free time?!) So I was very surprised to get a phone call two days before my hair appointment to hear that I had missed my hair appointment. Apparently I was supposed to know that the date from the second phone call was the actual appointment not the date from the third phone call. But no big deal, these things happen, I made an appointment somewhere else and that place was able to squeeze me in at the end of their day just two days later.

Then the massage...
When I was late, yes my fault, for the appointment for the massage, by 4 minutes, I spoke on the phone to the woman who was the massage therapist that was going to be doing the massage. Before I could say that I'll be right there in 5 min, she said that there was no problem with me rescheduling it to another day and that I would not lose any value of the Groupon that I was going to use. This goes against what the Groupon says so I thought it was an exceedingly nice gesture, and thought I had found my new masseuse. (I was in a bad accident two years ago and try to get massages on a weekly basis, helps with the pain) So I rescheduled, otherwise I would have just proceeded to the appointment and taken what ever time was left. Then I got a massage from Rachel at Hairaholic Salon saying that the new massage appointment would be at full cost to me because they had already submitted the Groupon voucher for payment. I called her back and told her that I had spoken with the woman that was going to be doing the massage and she had told me that it was no problem to reschedule. Rachel told me that that was impossible and that the woman I spoke to "didn't understand how things work." She said that I had already missed my hair appointment and now canceled my massage with in 24 hours of the appointment, she said I had a bad "track record" She didn't have any interest in hearing about what her employees had said, she had zero intention or honoring it. She interrupted me constantly, was very curt and incredibly unprofessional. I am obviously never going in there, which is to bad because the masseuse seemed to be such a nice person, and the salon is literally a 5 min walk from my front door. $40 Groupon down the drain.

If you do go to this salon, don't expect excellent service from management. I am sure that most of the employees are nice, but if you run into any problems you with be kicked to the curb. Also call in advance to confirm all appointments, even if you already heard from them about when it is.

I am new to New England and needed to find a hair salon that knows how to cut, color, and style my thick curly hair...Hairacholic was recommended to me. I am delighted every time I go there. The ladies are fantastic, the salon is beautiful, and the products are top of the line.
