I had been seeing him for 4 years and had repeatedly brought his attention to a red spot on the tip of my nose. The red spot continued to grow in diameter and depth for 4 straight years. AT NO TIME did he take any action. Finally, after 4 years of spreading, when it consistently bled if touched AND I DEMANDED ANSWERS, he did a biopsy. Of course, it was cancer. Because of his gross negligence, what could have been frozen off at its beginning has turned into a very disfiguring excision. Even then, based on his explanation of the surgery, if he had to take too many layers, I would have to have a skin graft. Before he had removed all the cancer, he informed me we had gone beyond the point of simply closing me up and I needed him to do a skin graft. However, when he was finished with me, a first thing in the morning surgery had now extended to after 1pm. Instead of the skin graft I needed, he made numerous scalpel cuts and pulled my skin this way and that to cover the hole in my nose. I now have scars that had NOTHING to do with the cancer removal -- simply his quicky way to finish my surgery. And, with the scalpel he damaged nerves so I have phantom pain like an amputee "feels" from a non-existent leg. Lastly, he used huge 1/4 to 1/3 inch sutures NOT what a qualified surgeon would use to cosmetically close a facial wound not to mention the 1/3 inch flat staples which any moron could tell you would not work on the curved top of a nose. From the instant they were used, the left side pulled the right side and vice versa which made the staples tear the nose and 2 years later you can clearly see, WITHOUT ANY MAGNIFICATION, each and every circular staple hole and the scalpel slashes. When I complained at a re-check, he actually told me he thought he had done a great job!!! Then he told me if it really bothered me (with an definite attitude I was shallow) that I could have face fillers injected, at $600.00 every 6 months, FOT THE REST OF MY LIFE, and he would ATTEMPT to inject me EXACTLY along the scar lines and POSSIBLY it would raise the scars enough to make the surface uniformly flat. That is an awful lot of "if's" at a cost of $100.00 a month, AT MY COST -- FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE to correct what he did to me. Of course, fillers can "lump" so I would have that risk. And,none of this would end my almost continuous phantom pain or eliminate the staple holes. I do Sunday services at several senior centers and see much older patients (who have a longer and not as satisfactory healing) who had my extensive Moh's surgery. Their COMPETENT doctors did a circular skin graft, with the necessary miniscule stitches AND NO STAPLES and 3 months later you can't spot where the surgery was done. Now that it is too late, I have found several people I actually know have been to Eremia and had just as shoddy treatment -- very unsatisfactory, disfiguring cosmetic results and, in most cases, my same phantom pain.
