My experience was not a favorable one. I went to a Verizon store in Alpena, MiI. I wanted a phone similar to the one we had.. The store employee showed me one for $39.99. [IF THE STORE WAS STILL ALLTEL, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FREE. I purchased the phone , but on the way home I discovered that it was not a camera phone as my previous one was.The store employee had looked up our previous account, so already knew we had been ALLTEL customers for many years, and also what kind of phone we had. We went back to town that afternoon. and got the same employee. I explained, why I was back, and he said there would be a $35.00 restocking fee and he could sell me a camera phone for $99.99. and the restocking fee could be waived. I agreed, and after a long absence the employee came back and stated there would still be a restocking fee. . . The store was full of customers. I asked for the companys phone number. THERE IS NO WAY VERIZON CAN GIVE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BY CHARGING A RESTOCKING FEE!!! I am a very unhappy customer and will be sharing this story with everyone who will listen. I will also be taking my business elsewhere. This is rated unsatisfactory, because of the company, not the employee.

They did a very poor job helping me. I had troubles with my Verizon phone and they basically told me that it was not their problem. I've been a customer for 6 years, I expected a little better treatment.

The Verizon store in rochester on South Rochester road is the absolute worst service center I have ever experienced. I have long waits and poor service every time I go there. The store on North Rochester road is the exact opposite and I have started going there instead. It is very insulting to see Verizon pays a greeter to admit customers who walk in the door and then stands around and waits for extended time to see a service rep

^ Clare C. is totally a "fisher". Someone working for Verizon who's job it is to get a solid rep on online communities and promote their company as a random person with a good experience. That's no way to do business VZ. Just make the experience good for customers in the first place, then you wouldn't need to do this.....

Went to store with a car charger problem. Woman who was helping me was interrupted by another young woman who told me there was nothing they could do for me because the equipment was not authorized. I told her I bought it at a Verizon Store. She then told me that store was not authorized and was out of business because of that. (It was in a Circuit City store that closed.) I insisted I had a receipt and she insisted there was nothing they could do for me. Called Verizon and they told me she was completely and totally wrong----I had been given the wrong equipment at the store (which was an "authorized" store) and they would send me two new car chargers free of charge. They apologized for this woman's behavior. Not only was she incompetent, but like most incompetent people, she was totally unaware of her incompetence and arrogant about it to boot. Call
Verizon if you have a problem; avoid this store at all costs.

Talk about NO helpful employees , NO smiling employees .....i even had an employee there ask me " If i can move " ...rudely and with an attitude . Heck i was out of everyones way and looking at a phone to buy (same one he was showing) . Yes , i corrected him and told him in front of "his" customer he can not talk to me like that and a please or thank you would have to come before i move. I even uttered the words "pathetic" loud enough for him to hear as well as his customer. He was fumbling his words , i was definetly in his head. The next employee i ran into was too busy to help but not too busy to go into a corner and use his personal phone to call his "buddy ? mom ? friend ? ". 100 % pathetic , not in a million years , a couple of ice ages , a drought , a bubonic plague or a direct comet hit on earth would i ever use verizon.

I went to Switchboard.com to get directions to this store and noticed the reviews. I wish I would have taken the advice and not gone. The wait was long but that didn't bother me. What was bothersome was the girl with the big hoop earrings! I felt I was wasting her time by asking questions. I will admit I had a lot of questions but, before I was signing a contract for 3 new phones I wanted them answered! Another customer that was waiting said he was there for a replacement phone and had been getting the run a round for a week! He said they were very nice to him when he was signing up but when he came back with a problem it was a whole new ballgame! Because his phone was over 30 days old (it was 2 months old) they would only give him a re-conditioned phone, and he had 3 lines!!!!!!
That was enough for me. When Miss Big Earrings came back..I left!

I also emailed the same Verizon site as another re-viewer and I didn't get a response either.

Do yourself a favor - keep driving by this place!

Wow! I have never encountered a business like this! I didn't mind the long wait until I had to deal with the woman that waited on me. She was impatient, cold & obviously didn't want to be there. I was surprised when I found out she had been there for years!! When I had a problem with my phone and had to come back in, she rolled her eyes at me!!!
Nobody seemed to care about the bad service when I called to complain!
I would be appalled if my employees treated our customers like this.
I wrote to www.verizonwirelesssurvey.com They say "We're Not 100% Satisfied Unless You Are." They NEVER contacted me!!!

I was surprised when I found out she had been there for years!! When I had a problem with my phone and had to come back in, she rolled her eyes at me!!!

Honestly, the Verizon store in Rochester, Michigan is very difficult to work with. They have a problem caring for existing customers. When you finally get a person, they are polite and helpful. Just don't expect anything fast and make sure that what they say they will do, really happens.

PROS: Large volume store with good stock
CONS: Too busy to provide prompt and complete service

I was able to upgrade my three year old phone at no charge. I was told that it would soon be illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving anywhere in Michigan. I don't think this is true. I liked the variety of plans available I was matched up with an appropriate plan without being pressured into a more expensive plan that I can't afford.
