I suppose they did a good job at removing my dogs lump but they charged me an extra $150 for something i did not request.
After talking several useless phone calls i eventually met the business manager at the location who just defended the mistake of her employee and pretty much flat out called me a liar (as i let the girl behind the counter check off the surgery form for me).
All in all my dog is doing fine and that is what matters but they were completely unapologetic about adding services that i did not request and charging me for it.
I will not even go into the very long wait time it took on my first visit to get someone to see my dog. (I had to stay one hour into a little room)
DO NOT RECOMMEND

Business Response:

Dear Julien, We have very thorough surgery sheets where you check to fill out if you want a catheter, blood work, pain medication, etc... I would not be in business if I randomly did procedures that were not approved. The bottom line is that what the doctor chose and what you chose ultimately led to a happy ending. Read anesthetic sheets even at your own doctor's office and you won't be surprised at the end of the day. Dr. Scott

I brought my cat here last month for the problems he was having. Dr. Morrissey was his vet. She said my cat had a very high blood count. She also found that he was constipated and may have some other issues. She called me back and said

I found a medium sized dog at a gas station on my way out of town in September 2006. I picked her up and soon realized she was extremely timid, but my family became very attached to her as soon as she came home with me. I had her for just over a year when suddenly (within 2 days) she became very ill. I took her to My Family Vet and Dr. Scott immediately told me that there was something very wrong with her and that we needed to run bloodwork. Turns out she was in complete kidney failure and had many other vague symptoms. Dr. Scott and Dr. Ashmore teamed up and figured out very quickly that my dog had Addison?s disease (a condition with her adrenal glands). They treated me and my dog with such compassion and care. They even stayed at the clinic until 8:00pm one night running a 2 hour blood test to confirm the diagnosis. They saved her life during that critical issue, tended to all of her changing needs and still continue to see her monthly to administer her necessary medications. Although she is still a very shy, timid dog, the vets at My Family Vet treat her like their own pet. She is a great dog and I?m so appreciative that they saved her and that she?s still a huge part of our family. I love this clinic, the whole staff and will always trust them to take care of all my furry kids.

Pros: Caring, attentive, & wonderful staff

Cons: Busy, but it's because they are great vets!

The receptionist and vet tech were very nice. There was a wait; dislike being on time and waiting for someone who isn't. I didn't feel the vet explained what the shots being administered were preventing. I also didn't like how the heart worm medicine (in treat form) was shoved down my dogs throat. I was given a vile of pills to give my dog, but she didn't explain what they were, or what they were for. If she did it was at 8000 words per minute and I was unable to follow.
It's possible my pup's appointment was on an over-booked day for the clinic, but I felt like a number in the herd; rushed through the line. That was the first time she and I had been to My Family Vet, and we won't be going back for her spay or more shots. Maybe sometime in the future I will try them again, but for now I will keep looking for a more patient vet.

I've rarely seen a more compassionate, caring veterinarian and staff than that of Dr. Scott's. I have taken hundreds of rescue dogs to her clinic and received nothing but top-knotch, care. She has to be one of the best veterinarians in the city.

I have never met more compassionate, caring people in our area that love what they do. This veterinary hospital has a team that shines. I had heard that they were busy and I can see why; they are good at what they do! The place is clean and the staff is friendly. My dogs loved it there! They were given treats and hugs and kisses by the staff! Thank God I found this place!!! Highly recommend...

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC!!!!! We have a diabetic cat who needs insulin twice a day. I made an appointment to have his glucose level checked and dropped him off in the morning. I called later to check on him and they said that they had not performed the test because I had not brought his insulin with me. I was not told that he needed it. We made a second appointment to have him checked and my husband received a call later to inform him that the test had not been done because they were "too busy". I asked if he had received his insulin in the morning and they said that he had not. When I asked the clerk why she said she did not know why. These people are supposed to be in the business of HEALING animals, not putting them in danger of diabetic shock, coma or organ failure. If they are "too busy" to perform a test scheduled days in advance then they need to stop taking appointments until they get their calendar in order. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!!

I brought in Tater Tot, my adorable little cocker spaniel puppy, to My Family Vet thinking he was on the brink of death when Dr. Scott took one look at him, offered to take charge, and then simply whisked him away to somewhere I dont know where. Not expecting any miracles, I went home in tears feeling horrible. Every day that I waited for any kind of news was torture. I was about to give up hope when Dr. Scott called me one morning to say: "you can take your dog home now." Can you imagine my tears of joy and heartfelt gratitude? How can I thank her? To say that she is amazing is the understatement of the year.

Dr. Scott is amazing. We brought our precious dog in to see her 8 months ago. He was not doing well. He was on death's door-step. 2 weeks later, he had to be placed in an oxygen box so he could breathe. My wife and I both thought we would lose him on that day. Our old vet would have given up on him. Dr. Scott refused to give up on him. Here it is 8 months later. Each day we know it could be his last since he was diagnosed with a fatal disease (Congestive Heart Failure). We would not have had these precious 8 months if she had given up on him. He has a good quality of life now. My wife and I highly recommend Dr. Scott.

We recently moved here from another state and feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful vet. We have never actually seen Dr. Scott as patients yet but the other vets on staff are great! Dr. Scott did however, stop and talk to me and my puppy while we were in the waiting room. She sat down next to me and asked my puppy's name and why he was there & talked with me a little bit about his condition. What a group of kind, caring professionals!

Dr. Clara Scott is a wonderful vet. She really listened to me when I explained about the situation my cat was in when other vets simply ignored my concerns. She did a wonderful job trying to figure out what was wrong with my cat and even contacted an old professor of hers to see if they had any ideas. She grieved with me when we lost her. (I wish we had found Dr. Scott sooner, my cat might still be here today.)
I currently have a cat and a dog and we are faithful to Dr. Scott. She knows her business and she really cares about her patients and their "parents."
