Okay, I received a call yesterday morning from a friend who works across the street from the caf. She knows I like a good smoothie and how hard it is to find a good one especially made with real fruit products and not a lot of artificial ingredients. She said it was her first time at this place and hasn??t tried the food yet but kept talking about her ??brain freeze? she was getting as a result of drinking down too fast her smoothie. It was just that good. Of course, she had my attention! I didn??t mention it to her then but I had plans to hit the gym later that afternoon a few blocks away at the YMCA with my daughter. After our workout, we hit the caf. Definitely a different kind of atmosphere and we were continuously greeted as we perused the menu board. We decided on the smoothie special of the day ?? Acai, Pomegranate, and blueberry. It only cost us $5 for two small ones which was plenty enough. Without a doubt, it was the best smoothie I??ve had not 100% sure if all the ingredients were natural but it was on-point!! After a few sips we decided to split a sandwich. The lady at the register stated their bread is baked fresh we ordered the fresh turkey. Listen, no kidding the bread was soft and yes, fresh baked and the turkey was delicious! Can??t agree with anything less than a 4 rating for this spot would??ve given a five but the salad bar was empty perhaps getting restocked and unless you??re ordering the specials like we did although reasonably priced the experience would be even better at a $1 less.

I was trying to find the menu online and saw this site. Suprised to see so many reviews in such short time. I have been working in the building for 6 years and I must say the rat pack cafe blows away the prior tenant. I will give my honest opinion in this post. I am a coffee drinker, and the times I have had it I would not say it is totally weak...not strong either, but you just can't please everyone! I have mainly been in for breakfast and the sandwiches are FAT! I The upcharge on the bagel and croisant is a little nickle dimey, but who cares, it was good and I hope they do not change that lol. I know the manager there from her time at Purebread, and I do know that she aims to please, as do the others I have encountered there. Every place you eat at in town is expensive in my opinion...but its not fast food. It is also very convenient for the people who work in this building...esspecially through the coming winter when none of us will feel like walking blocks for lunch. I am only giving 4 stars because there is always room for improvement and honestly...I have not had lunch there.

Wow! Why does every forum erupt into a downing contest. Whereas I do not agree with John or Jason, I also disagree with Michelle for downing their opinions and taking personal shots at them.

The food was good, the people were nice, the atmosphere was a welcome change. I will likely return as time and purse allows. I really saw no major issues.

Okay; I read the first post before I went there with a co-worker and jokingly brought the review to mind. First, I was impressed with the level of customer service; good job on that. Second, I did not see anyone sleeping. Third, the "ambience" was nice...felt like a little step back through time. Now, in all fairness; I had the Chariman of the Board and I will say the roast beef was a little dry. This may have been because we came in a little late that day, who knows. In reading all of the posts here, I see some very skewed and almost even bias opinions. The one person almost sounded like he/she works there (or spent a lot of time asking detailed questions). In defense of all, if there was a sleeping employee there (which I did not see), and if that person is disabled; how would the average customer know? I didn't have any coffee, not my thing, The prices were in alignment with a lot of other places, cheaper than some, and more expensive than others. Only thing I can make of it is that some people are going to have a good experience and some a bad...I am indifferent. I will likely return at some point and check out other menu options. I encourage the people that had a bad experiance to try this as well. An establishment cannot be judged accurately on one bad experience, who knows what the factors were that day. To all other posters on this forum, keep in mind that people are entitled to their opinions and name calling only serves to add gas to the fire.

Jason and John, the two of you should be ashamed of yourselves for posting comments about a person with a disability. I did not see any one sleeping, however I applaud The Rat Pack for providing opportunities to the disabled citizens of this city.

It almost seems like your downing this business just to be jerks. Or maybe your jealous that you didnt think of the idea first!

I visited The Cafe today and I looked at the menu (which you obviously DID NOT read). The menu clearly states that the rat pack "red eye" is expresso combined with coffee. $2.95 for single and $3.50 for double. DUH!

The atmosphere was fantastic...The staff, the music, the decor...how could you not love it?

The prices...? In line with and in some cases cheaper than all the other places in the city....not expensive (maybe if your cheap)!

Subpar food? NOT EVEN CLOSE! I could understand if you had the nasty chunky brown tuna from subway, that smells like the bottom of the ocean...that is subpar! My associates and I all got different items from the menu and they were great. The Copa Room salad was over flowing from the container and I had to get a lid to take the rest home. The wrap was so big that 2 people could have eaten it. And my boss had a Chairman of the Board (roast beef) that was so fantastic he said it's his new favorite sandwich. AND the peanut butter cookie was heavenly!

THE RAT PACK CAFE WILL DEFINATELY BE A REGULAR SPOT FOR ME...NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

For all thoes contemplating breakfast or lunch at The Rat Pack PLEASE DO NOT listen to the immaturity, ignorance and disrespect posted by Jason and John...Go there and see for yourself!

I don't understand what there is to complain about. My first visit was superb. The staff was welcoming (no one sleeping on the couch) and informative. The ambiance is spot-on for what they were trying to accomplish. As far as the actual food and drink, the sandwich that I ordered was made in plain site, done in no time and tasted excellent - flavors almost as robust as the p-e-r-f-e-c-t cup of joe that I had with it.

As for the prices, they didn't really bother me, especially after I had finished my meal. I did some math, and the prices at the Rat Pack Cafe actually beat out the other cafes and luncheons in that specific area - much better than paying a mortgage to Brew-Ha-Ha for a venti-anything. Having read the first two reviews before going to check for myself, I found myself wondering what the other reviewers were experiencing. I just couldn't see what they were talking about. Perhaps the Rat Pack heeded their advice? I don't know.

I do know that I will be back!

I agree with everything that guy said. Three times I have stopped in for morning coffee and three times I have seen an employee sleeping on the couch. Unprofessional. The prices are on the high end for the quality of food. I would recommend lower all menu item costs by a dollar. Establish a customer base. Don't drive them away with high prices and lack of quality. I also agree the theme is a good idea, they just need to work out the other issues.

The ambiance is wonderful; until you look right and see a sleeping employee on the nice leather couch. You quickly realize the furniture that fits so well, is the employee lounge area and you therefore must find one of few tables to sit at. Ah, nothing like the sound of Frank and Dino along with ambient snoring from the sleepy employee, while you eat your overpriced subpar lunch. Maybe the employees are so sleepy because of the watered down coffee they charge $2 dollars for. Wake up people! You have the right idea and you??re doing it all wrong. What you have could be a gold mine. Drop prices by $1 across the board with respect to your lunch menu; make your coffee strong (or at least one of them) and don??t let your employees sleep in the restaurant in plain view of your customers. It also wouldn??t hurt if you would let people add a shot of espresso to their coffee without charging $2 for the coffee and $2.50 for the shot! Keep working on it, or you may find your ??fickle friends? gone with the autumn wind!
