.

Overall floor installation was acceptable. My problem is that the helper who happened to be the installers cousin did not know the first thing about floor installations or even helping floor installers or even anything about being a construction helper in general. He had his hands in his pockets more than he had them on anything pertinent to the job.

Having an experienced helper could of made the job go a lot smoother and faster. I also had to volunteer my tools for the installer- such as my air compressor and brad nailer to put the trim back on. Then the installer was going to turn his helper loose re-caulking my trim who does not even know how to open a tube of caulk.

When the installer asked his helper to get a 2x4 block out of his bag - and he picked up the bottle of glue and started to read the label- I almost fell out of my chair.

I give kudos to the installer for working with him and coming all the way from Greenevlile and completing the job in a reasonable amount of time nevertheless. The moral of the story - although a decent installation, a bad helper can give the company a bad name.

It also helps to contact the customer in advance if you know you are going to be late - In which this case he was 45 minutes late due to lane closures on the hwy.
