Been here twice. I waited to write the review after the first because i went there when they first opened a few years ago hoping it was just new and they were trying to get settled. Unfortunately that was not the case. Service was absolutely horrible both times. The second time I went we sat on the deck which has beautiful views of lake Quinsigamond. It was not very busy and we ordered drinks, they took 20 mins to bring the drinks and the beers were warm, I informed the server that they were warm and she proceeded to ask me if I wanted something else. No I don't want anything else I want my beer cold. She was not very accommodating at all. From then the service and food was terrible. I will not return here and will not recommend to anyone I know. It's such a shame because the atmosphere and the views from the deck are so nice.

I took my family out for a celebratory dinner at Bucca and loved it.\r
The food is definitely more pricey than I could afford to pay regularly but, for a special dinner, this is the spot.\r
They have family-style servings, so don't make

"I grew up in a town that was 98% Italian and I spent more time at Italian tables and in Italian kitchens (even a summer in a mafia owned restaurant) then in my own mothers kitchen so this review is not only from an honorary Italian but an accomplished Italian cook.

First Bucas uses the family style experience as an excuse to charge for all the little things that usually accompany a meal such as salad, vegetables and pasta...come on what real Italian restaurant charges you extra for a pasta side with your meal?

This was our first time at Bucas (Shrewsbury, MA), I was considering having my wifes baby shower here after a co worker suggested it so I figured we would stop by and give it a try.

We ordered a salad with Granny Smith apples, cranberries and cheese and the calamari appetizer. In truth the salad was tasty and of ample size for my wife and I, we ordered the small.

As for the calamari, the breading was bland and the fish itself was dry and on the slightly tough side. The sauce was nothing to write home about and on par with what I would expect to find at a TGIF or Applebees, no I tell a lie, I think the latter is better.

For our entree we ordered the small veal saltimbucca, keep in mind this is advertised as being able to feed 3, and I am assuming that the 3 meant 3 adults. What we got were 3 small paper thin pieces of veal that my 15 month old daughter could devour on her own.

The entree was $22 which comes out to be $7.33 per slice, I get better value, more meat, chips and a drink at Subway for my$7.

In total we spent $60 including tip with no alcohol, I left feeling hungry and devoured a BLT when I got home.

I should have known better than to try this place when I noticed something on their website that mentioned Planet Hollywood but I guess I am getting soft in my old age.

I sent the manager with whom I was communicating about the possibility of hosting our party and wouldn't you know it I never received a response to my dissatisfaction with the whole experience...no surprise I guess.

In short Bucas is a rip off and insult to the Italian heritage and cuisine and I would suggest that anyone reading this take a moment and rethink your plans and select a place owned and operated by the real deal...nothing beats a meal made from fresh ingredients and that special love that my Italian gumbas have for their food and culture.

Gindon!"

My father and I were very disappointed with this place which had been hypiing itself through its signs at its location on Route 9. Who opens October 19th and not be completely ready? The place has NO LIQUOR LICENSE as yet. That is going to
