Agra has very solid Indian food on the Westside. I have eaten in and its spot on Lincoln Boulevard is cozy and they certainly make it welcoming with some soup, but where Agra really stars is in its delivery.

Nothing like on a night where you need comfort food, getting some great chicken tikka masala and samosas delivered to your door.

After Pradeep's left the Marina, I ordered this for delivery and was blown away by the quality of food -- great spices, cooked to order. I'm not sure if it's as healthy as Pradeep's but sure tastes good either way.

I was overwhelmed by the great reviews I read online about Agra Indian Kitchen. But actually stepping in the restaurant and having dinner there was a letdown...

Positive:
It started off though with a nice word and chat of the waiter, which was really pleasant. Quite a lot of choice on the menu. I would rather have less choice so I have a better chance of being served with fresh food (not going to further whine about it in this case). The price is low; about $10-$13 for an entree.

Negative:
The atmosphere is not good (maybe 5.5 out of 10), not warm and welcoming. Food was not fresh; frozen vegetables and probably the lamb has been in the freezer too long also. I never experienced boneless lamb that's so tough! Despite that, the taste was okay, just okay. You might want to order an entree with the bbq entree. It's only dry meat with rice, no vegetables with it. Well... there were some onion parts.
The service started off well, but waiters were nervously looking for something to do and almost running around. While I was still eating, they were actually clearing the plates of my partner! Hahaha, we both really had to laugh. Even one of my plates was taken with some food on there...

Summary: If you're not used to good traditional Indian restaurants like Akbar (Marina Del Rey, Pasadena, etc.), this is surely a disappointment. But, you could see it the other way also and say: I only spent a little over $30 including tip and resulted in two filled tummies without doing dishes. :)
I would give it 2.5 out of 5.

Akbar here we coooooome!

Hey, went here because of review. It was far from what was said about it...I do not understand what people saw, unless they have other interests in the restaurant. They served a great salt lassi, and the potato naan was nice. BUT, I highly recommend finding another place. They served Jalapeno in the curry to make it "spicy". This ruined the dish. Have you ever had Jalapeno in an Indian curry? Ridiculous. And, the vegetables in the curry were the frozen bag kind. You know the cubed carrots, corn and such. I do not see how this passes anyone's palate. Also, the tea tasted like water, meaning it was watered down too much. When I commented on the lack of Chai taste, just tastes like water, the waiter, who was a very kind person, replied that they do use water to make it. SO, barring the humor, and the really kind and likable waiter, I think the food was terrible. I may be spoiled by having experienced great Indian food, but I think this place is a ridiculous place to rate anything above 1-2 stars. All the best luck.

Excellent service, fast and delicious. I LOVE LOVE this place. I always get the chicken tikka masala, sheesh kabob, some raita, garlic naan, and of course, some gulab jamun for dessert. It'a always excellent and delivered fast and hot. By far, my favorite Indian restaurant in the west side, if not LA. Oh, and one last thing, don't ask for HOT if you can't hang.

I have been to pradeeps along with a few other indian places in L.A. as I lived in London for awhile and love Indian food!! I must say, this place is hands down the best in L.A. that i have tried. The service is top notch, the papadom is complimentary and the marsala is amazing!!! I would recommend this to people who don't mind eating in a smallish place with an intimate vibe, the food is really very good and the prices are beyond reasonable. I will be returning frequently.

Tonight is the second time I've gone back to Agra and it was even better than the first time. I think it's because I asked for my meal spicier this time and they kindly obliged. Anyhoo, I had the chicken Korma and the chicken was super tender and delicious. I also had an order of vegetable samosas and also equally good. Support local and try Agra, you won't be disappointed.

This Indian restaurant is by far the best quality Indian food in the MDR/Venice/Mar Vista area. Could be the best in a greater radius, but I'm not an expert on other areas. I'm serious -- and sorry to ruin anyone's appetite, but I always get tired and bloated after eating any Indian food around town(s), so my husband and I don't go to Indian restaurants anymore. UNTIL WE FOUND Agra. I gave in after much prodding from my hubby to try it, and I couldn't be happier. I want to go there all the time now. Ok, sure, the ambiance is casual and the dining area is small -- but who cares when the food is so FANTASTIC!? The mango lassi is to die for -- and the sweet lassi ain't bad either. The food is tasty without the cheap (and too common) shortcuts of msg and over-salting. The menu has so many things to try, it will take us months to sample it all...and we WILL be going at least once a week! The people there are very friendly and always make us feel at home. The prices are so reasonable, we almost feel guilty. So, please...try this place! If you are disappointed, I'll eat my review...hahahaha...or I'll eat at Agra seven times. And I'll be SO happy!!

Alright so take it from me, this is one of the best and most authentic Indian food you can get in LA apart from Akbar. I am Indian and I know authentic from generic, and this is certainly the former. The English guy that posted the review earlier obviously does not know what he is talking about. The ambiance is not the greatest, but the food is. You can't really go here for a romantic date but its a good place to hangout and eat some good food. What I especially like here is that they serve several things that you won't find anywhere else. Try the chicken chaat, trust me you'll like it. The lamb rogan gosh is also very good. One of my favorites is the mango ice cream very authentic and homemade. TIP: don't ask for spicy, it might be too hot.

I stopped by this place just a few nights ago and was very impressed by the friendly and attentive staff and authentic food. I love Indian food and felt that this place offered a slightly different take on the standard fare. In fact, there were things on the menu here that I've never seen before (only in India). I've only been here once, but I can easily see myself changing this rating to 5 stars in the near future after I've tried more things on the menu. By the way, I'm guessing this place is very new because the decor was lacking; it was a box with a few lights.

If you come from a country where Indian food is now the national taste (like the UK) you'll be slightly disappointed with the general indian fare availble here in LA.

Not so at the Agra.

I got take out which was neatly packed in about 15 minutes. I had:

- Tandoori chicken: Tender and slightly singed by the oven as it's supposed to be, not over 'redded' as many others do (almost to shout "I'm a Tandoori chicken"). No, this one was delicious with a sprinkle of lemon. It was shared and gone 2 minutes later.
- Chicken Tikka Masala: I chose medium spicy (one of 3 levels you can choose). Rich but not too creamy with tender pieces of chicken. It was almost smoky tasting, delicious and full of the flavours I've grown to love deep in the Indian communities of the UK
- Mattar Paneer: equally authentic and almost large enough to be a dish on it's own.
- Aloo Gobi: great with all the rich flavours and as an accompaniment to the chicken. It's light and mild spices let the flavour of the califlower and potatoes come through just enough.
- Naan bread: Hot, slightly stretchy and perfectly baked as only a really hot Tandoori oven can do, the smell of that fresh bread alone made my mouth water in anticipation.
- Raita: You gotta have that with a good Indian, the coolness of the Yogurt/Dahi especially went mixed with the rice or rich sauce of the Masala evens out the spices and spaces out the eating.

The service was friendly, informal and curteous.

So go there, take away or order in just enjoy the food, it's worth it.

This is the best Indian food my wife and I have had. We ordered combination plates and specific entries.
The ingredients are very fresh, spices great, and the cooking excellent. The hosts, owner Ali and his wife Eva, are very friendly, charming, and warm. I could eat there daily. Prices are quite reasonable. This new restaurant is a must try. They have take out and also will deliver within a radius of a couple miles.

Excellent Indian food in an intimate setting. I found Agra on citysearch for a last minute dinner date with an old friend. The restaurant in located right on washington and lincoln in venice. it is set away from the corner so there is ample parking. The resaurant is very small and intimate. The candle lit tables were set with lovely decore and the soft music was soothing. The food was excellent and VERY resonably priced. A complete dinner is priced at about $11. for meat dishes and $7 for vegetarian. The service was excellent and they even gave us free champagne. Also- you get a 20% discount for being a citysearch member. i will be visiting Agra again in the near future. The staff were friendly and helpful and you can also designate how spicy you would like your food! enjoy!!

The outside may not look like much and the view of LIncoln leaves much to be desired. But the food, cleanliness and service more than makes up for it. We live in Venice and eat here almost every week. No lines, no attitude. Just great food, cheap prices and no hassle. Great delivery service too. Once you go here, it will become a favorite.

No, I'm not the owner of this place. I seriously don't understand how anyone could give this spot a poor review. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, it's never too busy; what more could you want? Maybe the meat dishes aren't the best, I wouldn't know since I'm vegetarian, but they fix tofu like nobody's business.

I ate here once on a whim and regretted it. With so many better options nearby, why you would want to pay so much for such bad food is beyond me. There's side-street parking and a bit in the rear, but the chicken wasn't good and their panang was mediocre. It's a rundown place that won't be missed.

I've been to a number of different Thai restaurants and this has got to be the worst. My wife and I were ordering in, and looked around at different menus we've received from the mail or under the door. Thought we'd give this place a try. Bad mistake.
I call and ask for pad thai and green curry, no problem. The menu also said I can get a free Thai iced tea with an order - I though, 'great'. So I asked, they said they don't do that, but for me they'll do it just this once. Thanks a lot. Then I ask for the total, and it seemed a bit higher than what was in the menu - guess they raised the prices? Couple bucks more, no big deal.
After nearly an hour, it arrived. On top of the higher priced dishes, they tacked on $3.00 above what the person on the phone said! He said because I was out of their zone? Plus, he expected a tip? So all in all, we unded up paying twice as much as planned. What for?

For dry noodles and leaky curry.

Say no to Siam...
