We recently moved from out of state to Dallas. When we moved to Dallas, we fell in love with Flower Mound instantly. One of the important criteria for us other than greenery was good pre-schools, as my husband and I are both indulged in work. We toured three different Montessori schools and felt that Wonderland was the best choice. It was clear that all the teachers were certified as their diplomas were hanging in their conference room. When we looked at their program, me and my husband felt that Wonderland had the most challenging academic program coupled with the nice facility. Another thing I was impressed with was the fact that my kids will be fed freshly prepared food every day. I waited for almost 6 months to write this review after I am fully convinced that Wonderland is the best school in the area. I am 100% satisfied.

Amazing Atmosphere.. even the lobby stands out .. it is clean clean clean !!! the best place that you can leave your child. My little one has been there for 5 months and we are so happy that we made the transition from another school near by to Wonderland. The teachers are warm and friendly, the director is very caring and all the staff is very helpful.
Our little one has learnt Math, Practical life, Social studies and even is able to tie his own shoes :-). Thanks to the individual attention given.. Love It !!

My Little son has been at Wonderland since he was an infant. It has been a home away from home for him . I am glad we made the choice from another local school to Wonderland. He is now 4 years and he can do math , loves practical life , can read and recognize sentences.. I am impressed with the constant innovation and new cirriculum they introduce, especially thier science lab .. Would recommend it to any one moving into town or looking for a change

Wonderland is a phenomenal Montessori school. My child enjoys it a lot and is always ready to go! There are some things that this school does very well. They have several extracurricular activities but my son loved yoga and music the most! Along with that, Wonderland has a strong academic program. My son is only 3 years old and has started to read!! Also I love the fact that Wonderland has in-house kitchen and provide fresh food. The biggest complaint that I have with Wonderland, however, is that they send way too much paperwork such as progress reports, newsletters, activities that the kids are doing, etc. I know some parents prefer this, although I do not.

Wonderland Montessori Academy is a great facility! My children have been enrolled for nearly a year and we have had the best experience. My son had an awful transition in the beginning simply because he was at home with a nanny for 2 years before enrolling in school. But eventually he was able to get over the fact that he was not staying at home and that he did not have an adult at his beck and call. My daughter was only 10 months when we started, so she definitely was the easier of the two. Now that we are nearly a year into our journey of preschool, I have to say this is a great fit for my children. The communication of the teachers is great and their passion for teaching far overrides that of other schools we have visited. I loved how the teachers were pushing for education goals, but honestly that was not my primary reason for school. They have a lot of great activities for children of each age, some that I do not know how they get accomplished like yoga and drama class. Every month they have a family gathering for one reason or another, so we are able to meet other families in the area which is very nice for play outside of school. The only negative aspect of the school I can find is that they are very structured, even for the younger children. Although I have found in research that Montessori is an overly structured viewpoint, I wish the children could have a little more free time. But at the same time, my children love what they are doing at school every day, and are sad on the weekends when it is a non-school day. Even my son, that had the rocky start, now loves to get up and get ready for schooluniforms and all! I can say that I love dropping my children off at school knowing they are safe and having fun!

We had enrolled our two year old at Wonderland Montessori, Flower Mound after looking at multiple daycare facilities and after reading the reviews on insiderpages, talking to friends who have their children enrolled in Montessori care / have family members who are certified Montessori teachers.

We ended up pulling him out after one week of horror.
When we picked him up after his first day he cried and hung on to mom for dear life.

After his first day he did not sleep, cried the next morning when we were in front of the building and did not want to go in.
After another night of not sleeping and beginning of day 3 we had to literally wrestle him into the car seat and he started saying no daycare when he recognized the way to Wonderland and it only got worse from there.

My husband and I thought he was just being a 2 year old having a tough time with the change. Since my child was getting gradually worse despite the director telling me how much fun our little one was having, I took the time to watch the video footage Wonderland records of the classrooms during the day and I did not like what I saw. First of all it was one teacher for 8 kids.

Our child sat at a table, by himself, crying and clinging to his teddy bear for 30 min after we had dropped him off. After that they went to the tech room.
During the day the teacher sat with other children, not engaging him once to join the group. The teacher left the room multiple times and while she was in there she was mainly focused on everything else but the children.
Our child sat by himself for long periods of time not playing, not doing anything other but clinging on to his bear majority of the day.

I asked the teacher and the director for a joint conversation to address this and was told that the Montessori Method is not to push a child to become part of the group...to me there is a difference between not pushing a child vs ignoring a child.
Overall the teacher became defensive and acted like I was being an overbearing mother.
After discussing this incident with my husband and our little one getting sick, we decided to take a break and then try a different daycare.

We ended up enrolling our child at a new daycare which opened in May 2013 on Long Prairie Rd. ( not a Montessori facility ).
After 2 days in we see such a difference. Our little one is engaged to be part of the group, also plays by himself with the toys ( not sitting alone at a table...).

There is no tears, no fights, no sleepless nights, no clinging. Our child is happy when being picked up and talks about the activities with a smile. Our little one likes Ms Jenna ( teacher ) and accepts her as the go to person.
We appreciate that 2 teachers are present when the group grows bigger than 6 kids ( unlike Wonderland Montessori ).

Lastly we love being able to watch our child through the daycare's internet camera system. This way we know he really is having a good time and witness first hand how caring and loving the teachers are with the children.

The only nice things I can say about Wonderland is that:
a) the facility is in a great, quiet street and very well kept
b) I was able to get our 2nd week tuition back I had paid in advance ( they could have kept it )

I would have liked to leave our child there since it's in walking distance to our home, but a nice facility or proximity doesn't do our little one any good if his needs are being ignored ( under the umbrella of the Montessori Method ).
Never ever again.

My family was very skeptical about moving our two children from a day care setting to a structured school environment but we had heard great things about Montessori. So as we looked around we noticed that most of the Montessori schools did not offer a true Montessori education, rather took a more group approach and labeled their services as Montessori. Wonderland Montessori was the first school we toured simply because they were the only ones that allowed us to come in whenever we could, whereas the other Montessori schools we had to set up an appointment. We found this to be the first red flag with most other schools because if there were set times we could come to see the classes what was going on other times of the day where we were not allowed? With that said, our tour with Wonderland definitely set a very high standard as we visited other schools. Now that we have been at Wonderland for nearly a year, we can honestly say we have found a home away from home for our children! Our 4 year old has learned so much and is already reading at a 1st grade standard. My little girl is 9 months and we cannot say enough good things about her teachers! All of the teachers at Wonderland are very loving and caring. We are so glad to make the switch; it has been a great experience for our family!

I am a Working Mom with a very busy schedule . My son goes to Wonderland and I feel that i have made the best decision when i started him off in their extended day program. He gets the education (he loves Math and Science) , sports and intellectual simulation through their tech program and specials. The Montessori method taught at Wonderland is excellent and the staff are certified. They are caring and provide a home away from home for my son. The director is very communicative and supportive.I am blessed to have my son go there !! I would recommend this school to anyone !!

This school is beautiful and very well kept. I love the outdoor playground area and gym. But to be honest with you, I care more for the academics and what my child is learning there than anything else. We went to two more schools before visiting Wonderland and were not sure if its going to be just like another school that we had put our child into, where our child learnt nothing. I am amazed to see what my child has learned in last 3 months. I give Wonderland 5 out of 5 for their hard work. I am proud of my child and Wonderland.

I have a son and daughter attending Wonderland since they were 6 weeks old. I feel that the personal attention that the staff gave my children and the love /affection they shower on them makes me and my wife very proud that we are a part of this great school focused on holistic development. I feel it is a home away from home and it is the right place for my children to get value added care and education.

The only thing that I can say about this school is that it is incredibly neat. They have all of the new technology, and experienced and trained staff. Inside the building it is very spacious and very well kept. I'm extremely impressed with the playground area.
