I am currently a student at Elite Progressive School of Cosmetology in Concord. I chose to go to school at Elite because of the advance education they teach, and the extra activities. The education offers the famous Vidal Sasson cutting technique. Also the makeup portion offers advance classes such as editorial makeup, airbrushing, and special effects. Also the AMAZING once in a lifetime opportunity trip to London. We get to study at the original Vidal Sasson Academy and at the TIGI Academy. Over all I would say this school has taught me so much and has prepared me to work in a salon or even running my own salon one day.

Yes, I agree with both Jason and the other person however, there IS a better school out there. It's called Skyline in San Bruno. It's quite a ways away from Concord however, their program is completely different. Students there spend at least 3 hours a day IN THE CLASSROOM studying with a professional. Skyline is actually rated one of the number 1 cosmetology schools in all of the nation. Believe it or not, Paris Beauty College is in 2nd (although they're not the greatest either.)

My aunt who's working at YOSH in Union Square, San Francisco went to Skyline and believed she received the best education for the best price. She said not one day she spent there was "bs."

If you're passionate, take the extra mile to check out the school.

Jason, I read your review and cant help but feel the urge to respond. You sound like a great guy, I'm an elite graduate, and having gone through it I can honestly tell u it is a world class education. notice how i did not say its perfect. YES some days are tough, YES some days u get tired of the BS but in the end i'm working in a 20 chair salon with ppl who have been doing for quite some time and are not as knowledgable as I'm in cutting or color. I charge 45 for a hair cut and 120 for a color. 1year out of school. YOU CANT JUDGE THE WHOLE PROGRAM AFTER ONLY 3 MONTHS. these ppl know what they are doing. best advise (not that u asked for one..lol) be patient, get your education there is no better school.

I am a guy who is very passionate about being a highly skillful stylist someday.

I chose this school because they promised that their programs is beyond a conventional state broad materials and they also offer a make up application.

I was there for about three months. I watched everything that the advance student s are doing but nothing ever caught my attention.

I don't see a good hair cut, advance color techniques and highlights or anything else that they promised before. All they do is a very basic cut and color just like conventional beauty school.

I lose my interest and I decided to find a another school that support my creativity and with better and more qualified instructor who really teach you to be a great stylist not just to pass the state board.

The school is not cheap but the quality is not as promised.
