I chose Omni Dental because of my new State of Texas insurance. They are one of the few that take it since they get paid less. I was nervous trying a new office, both my husband and kids felt like changing our environment. Very helpful.

Wow! I am kind of shocked to read some of the negative reviews here. I hardly post reviews but decided to post one for Marc and his staff today.\nEveryone in the office was incredibly helpful and kind when it came to answering my questions. I know I can be a bit of a pain sometimes by the amount of questions I ask but they were happy to help. I think I just found my new dentist! :D\n\nThank You Omni

I have been a patient at Omni Dental Group for a couple of years now and I have always been satisfied with my dental care. The first time I came here, the dentist took xrays of my teeth and I'm glad he did. That's pretty standard when you change to a new dentist since they are looking at the current status of your teeth. I've had to have a root canal done as well as some fillings and I was always very pleased with the work. When I had the root canal, it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be and it healed nicely. I 've never had any problems here and the staff has always been very professional with me.

Omni Dental's billing practices are horrible! I have one word for you all, ""Predetermination"". Before you get any dental work done through these people, get a quote and check with your dental insruance.\r\n\r\nAlso, don't fall for their phony ""Consultation"" fee. What a HUGE Ripoff. They charge ~$175 to take your blood pressure and to hand one a paper of pre-operative instructions. GO ELSEWHERE.\r\n\r\nI seriously could go on and on about my horrible experience with Omni Dental.

I am creating an account on CitySearch just to say how much I hated my experience there...\n\nI have 4 main complains:\n- I gave them all my insurance information and they gave me an estimation. I accepted it. They started the treatment. Few weeks later I received a bill in my mail, but the final price was very far from the estimation: $650 instead of $80!!! :/\n- The doctor came in 20 minutes late in the morning, I was her first customer but she did not give me any excuse. \n- The doctor tried to dramatize the situation and recommended an expensive treatment while my previous doctor did not. Anyway it will be covered by my insurance they say...\n- There are TVs everywhere showing Fox News. It makes me sick to pay for all these TVs.

It deserves 0 stars. I had been going to this place for a while now mostly because it was on my insurance and the first year I went here it was not so bad. That has changed. I went recently in for an exam and was told that I should see their root canal specialist who charges over a $100 and then I would have only received a discount on his services, not what my insurance provides since this person was in their office but was not actually IN their office. The dentist was nice enough. Some new young guy. However, it took nearly an HOUR of me sitting in a chair before he came to look at my teeth. Seriously, an hour? Yes. I was also told that I would not be able to get in for a cleaning until November, a good 4 months later. It seems to me that they could have used that hour wasted of me sitting in the chair to clean my teeth. \r\n\r\nOverall, poor time management. Try to push other services that you may need but that cost you a lot extra to even find out if you need them, they charge more for other items (like a night guard that I need) and they are rude. I overheard the staff and one of the doctors chatting about their weekends and new cars and all sorts of things that I didn't feel was necessary when you have patients listening in. Please check out Castle Dental at the Galleria, that's who I settled on and I was very pleased! Dr. Collard and Maria are who I saw.

I got a call letting me know that they were going to cancel my appointment the next day for a cleaning since I hadn't had an exam in over a year. The lady was very rude and in a demanding tone asked me ""why are you scheduling your appointment here anyway, you'r previous appointments were with the South office"" I explained that I had moved and she said ""Oh, well that's fine then"", like I needed her approval on my personal business?? Then she decided to change the appointment FROM a cleaning TO an exam and schedule a cleaning the following day. The next day I called to confirm that this was still the case as my appointment was for the following morning. They told me that I had NO appointments schduled. Then they re-scheduled me and put my appointments back in their computer. The next day I get my exam and confirm that I would be back the next day for the work that was needed and a cleaning, they agreed. The next day I wake up early again, drive 22 miles again only to be told that my appointment had disappeared AGAIN!!! They couldn't fit me in and I could come back next week. They were very rude and could care less that I drove 22 miles out of the way to be there in the morning. They seemed to be unconcerned that they were the reason I was there (they made the appointment) and even less concerned that they were the reason I wasn't able to get in (they didn't put the appointment in the computer). This place is so disorganized. All they had to say was that they were conducting a lot of interviews lately and had new people and had no idea who could have set the appointment that was now gone. I am now seeing a new dentist that has a much nicer attitude and is much better organized.

Pros: On my insurance

Cons: terrible service

I dont like going to the dentist, and I have AWFUL insurance. I do appreciate that Omni takes the lesser amounts that some insurance companies offer. I guess that means they are affordable. I did have to wait 5-10 minutes for my appointment. The office was very busy, but it ran great. None of the other offices I called took the state employee insurance, so I was glad they did. I had a great doctor, Dr. Marc Amsili, and his assistant was great, so Id have to say that they are okay. I realized that my insurance itemizes every item as a co-pay, and as a matter of fact my insurance pays them nothing. They work for my co-pay only.

After trauma and loss of my front tooth, I had a great experience at Omni. I went to the Hymeadow location. The office was beautiful and the staff great! I loved the fact that they had specialists on staff, and the staff stayed late on a Friday to extract a broken tooth. The specialist placed the implant the same day, and the general dentist made a nice temp so I can function with a front tooth. Thanks for working my emergency care in late Friday. And the front desk stayed until 6:45 PM just for me. You guys are great! A happy Omni patient.

Omni overcharges their customers . They add various charges on top of what your copayment is. Went in for a basic cleaning (for my daughter) and they insisted that I owe more than my copayment for things they said need to be done. They most likely ALSO bill your insurance company for the items you had to pay up front. Just another way for them to make more$$. They really need to be investigated for unethical billing. The people who work in the front office are not very pleasant either. This place reminds me of a dental school--not even sure if these are real dentists working in here! Also, this place has a high turnover rate with their ""dentists"".

I had and appointment at the Jollyville location and it was a pleasant experience. When I arrived, the ladies who work in the front were very nice and helpful. I had a lot of paperwork to fill out, but working in a doctor's office, I wasn't expecting anything different. They checked me in immediately and I had to only wait a couple minutes for my appointment. Even though I have always had a little bit of a fear of going to the dentist my entire life, I had no problem that day. Thanks Omni Dental for making my dental experience a pleasant one!

Pros: Positive Atmosphere, Friendly Staff

Cons: I had a tiny cavity, my fault

I have had numerous appointments from simple fillings to Caps on old fillings from a different dentist. Omni Dental Group was able to schedule me quickly and provide immediate service. They have worked with my insurance to ensure I get the maximum coverage from dental insurance. I recommend Omni Dental to both my friends and Family. Great Job!

Pros: Appointments the same week

I have had multiple appointments here and the accounting department was very helpful in fighting with my insurance to get my claims paid. During my many visits, I noticed that most of the angry patients just did not understand their insurance plans and took it out on the front staff. Know you benefits before you seek medical/dental care! I would refer anyone here for quality care.

FIrst off, I've had major maxillofacial surgery that lasted over 3 years, many visits to dentists, 38 yrs. old , etc. and this was by far the absolute worst experience I've had at a doctors office! First visit was OK, discussed 3 root canals, doctor was focused on me, we seemed to be on board for a plan. Day of surgery: the doctor is watching TV the whole time he's working on my mouth! On the 3rd tooth, he was afraid he was going to drill out the other side so he stopped the root canal to refer me to a specialist. This is the only time he speaks to me directly - I felt like I was on an assembly line (not just with him but everyone there, only 1 hygienist ever seemed to care about me or my comfort)! Out of sorts from 3 root canals in front teeth, I go to leave --and even though discussed earlier-- they say they will not give me pain killers or penecilin to fight infection! 24 hours later, my lip and gum swell up and I'm rushing back to the doctor to put in a tube to give the infection someplace to go! No apology from the doctor, no meds - visit back they only gave me penecillin. In short, they do not take care of their patients!! Go anywhere but here! Turn off the TV""s and focus on your patients OMNI Dental!\n\n

Cons: unprofessional, not concerned with patients well being

Unethical billing practices. Gave a $550 estimate for a root canal that they increased to almost $1000 the day my husband had the actual procedure. Claimed we were slandering them when we complained because the estimate said it was an estimate. Sure ? the $550 was an estimate. An *honest* estimate is close to the real price. We wouldn?t have complained it the $550 increased a bit (say $50) but almost being off by almost $450 is ridiculous. After being in pain for a month, waiting for the appointment, and taking the morning off work, he wasn?t in a position to go looking for a different place to have the root canal done. If Omni had given an honest estimate up front, he would have looked for a more reasonably priced practice.
