This is by far the best Mexican place we have eaten at in Yuba City. The prices are good and the food is delicious. Unlike some others we have been to. My kids love to go there to eat. The 6 of them range in age from 5 months to 11 years. And you try getting that many kids to settle on one place for dinner without fighting. My husband is a Mexican food fiend and loves this place.

Food is pretty good. Prices mostly reasonable. Atmosphere is nice enough. I just read another review and it said they didnt give chips and salsa. If thats now true, I will come back to this page and write it here. The other bigger Mexican place in town, Casa Lupe is just bad bad food. They use Sysco Classic, which is the same as many schools use. Most items are pre-made and then microwaved there. El Zarape is much cleaner than Casa Lupe also.

I normally really like this restaurant, it has a great autmosphere and good food. However, I went Sunday and was upset to find that not only will they not serve lunch items (understandable), but they do not serve any chips and salsa! Needless to say we left and went to our reliable spot... Casa Lupe.
Good food... but just be warned if you're cravin a taco in the morning!

I'm a fan of El Zarape, a fantastic Mexican restaurant that has been in business for as long as I can remember (used to be located on Gray Avenue). It's family owned and operated and the service is always outstanding as well as the food. The ambience used to be their only con, however, now that they have moved into a newly remodeled location it has become a major plus. Great food and it's typically fast.

El Zarape is a family-owned Mexican Restaurant. They give a military discount. The food is good and reasonably priced, service can be hit or miss. Our favorite Mexican food in the area.
