This place had some really great lamb kabob. I used to eat at Shamshiri on the west side and have been looking for a cool lounge to relax and eat Middle Eastern fare.

I really like the outdoor patio area and the host was also very nice and attentive to my family and our various needs.

Because it is outdoors you can smoke and even have a dog with you when you go. A major plus for many. They also will carry the latest in Hookah pipes and smokes if that is your thing. For the record I don't smoke so I cannot comment on the tobacco part.

All around I had a great experience and would recommend this place to anyone interested in a good local Middle Eastern restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles.

Good Kabob, Hookah Lounge, Tea House.

This place transformed itself from a church to a restaurant/lounge with a simple, but delightful food and tea menu. My first thought walking in was it didn't seem too noticeable from the street. Although there is outdoor patio dining (where you can bring your dog - a plus), it was set above the sidewalk so when people drive by, you can't see too much action happening. For an outdoor dining experience, I find this to be a plus for patrons who visit, but not a plus for the owners who need this place to be advertised. The exterior has not changed since it's church days, and I think it needs to stand out more. If that were me, I would hang some white lights around plants, and paint the building a different color so it will pop on busy Sunset Blvd. The interior is elegant, with interesting decor and draperies. Clearly a lot of love and thought was put into this place. As spacious you it seems from the outside, I felt the amount of tables were sparse for patrons, but I did like it's elegant warm lounge, with comfortable seats or sofas that you can sit and have tea with a friend. It was inviting and said ""sit and stay for a while"" but there was this flat atmosphere that wasn't working for me. It was too quiet! Visually, this place has an ambiance, but mentally I just wasn't feeling it. I felt while it's earning it's place in the neighborhood with patron's, it needs more life added such as music playing at all times, simple water fountains and maybe a fire pit. On the upside of warmth, the staff is very nice and very welcoming. I recommend giving it a shot, and bring a few people because from what I had, the food is really good!

Pros: Great brunch, and good prices

Cons: Too quite, flat atmosphere, but has potential
