The cheese biscuits are simply amazing! The duck fat fries are jaw dropping and the shrimp and grits are out of this world! The food is very strong in taste and delicious! Definitely a great place to check out on the weekends. We sat outside on the patio and it was great to see all the commotion of downtown while eating. The inside decor is very nice. Valet parking only takes cash so be prepared.

Unreal, Amazing, Fun, Delicious, Yummy - you get the picture.

For those of you that have read my previous reviews about Searsucker (you remember - This is the place with the best Octopus in San Diego), I just had to write an update. ALL the food is amazing and delicious... You know you're in trouble when you wake up at 6:00 AM. craving multiple items off their dinner menu.

I decided to have a party with 13 people (yes, lucky 13 - believe me, after eating fifteen different items off the menu, it was definitely a lucky night for everyone).

Food: 5
Service: 5
Ambiance: 5
Bonus Rating: 5 stars for having so many choices on the menu- small bites, smalls, greens, ocean, ranch, farm and other items.

So, let me tell you about all the mouth watering food we had. Here is the short list:

Duck fat fries, no shishito schoos, sea salt sweet spice nuts, artichoke hearts, octopus (of course), spicy shrimp and bacon grits, tahitian tombo albacore tuna, Hawaiian swordfish drunken cherries and almonds, baja scallops foie gras and figs, flatiron chimichuri bearnaise, filet mignon with lobster butter, beef cheeks with goat cheese dumplings, jalapeno corn off the cobb and a few other items.

Like I said, that was the short list. I can honestly say that I tried a little of each of the listed items, and none of them rated anything less than 4.7 stars, most were flawless.

After sharing the various items with all my friends and family, I realized that this is the only way I want to eat - I want to do it family style. Getting to try small bites of 15 or 20 items during a meal seems like the only way to eat. Try it. Take a few friends, share some dishes, and sit back in awe at how food can make you so happy.

The service was nothing less than perfect (thanks Les).

I will be back soon - either by myself to get the Best Octopus in San Diego, or in a large group so I can try everything on the menu.
