.

Our gas furnace had started to short-cycle with increasing frequency over the past three years rendering the home at times during the winter months a bit cold. Running parallel was an unknown issue with the heat exchanger component of the furnace developing cracks causing a mixing of the exhaust into the inside air of the house. A trip to Home Depot to replace the smoke detector revealed an issue with carbon monoxide in the home (not good).

After networking with several heating and cooling companies, we noticed that a similar theme was being discussed, the heat exchanger component was failing and to replace it would cost almost as much as a new furnace. With the gas furnace being 28 years old (original), it was time for a safety upgrade.

We decided to contract with A-Action Heating & Cooling based on prior experience when we purchased the home over 20 years ago. Other people we know have likewise have had very favorable service.

The Trane gas furnace installed produces a more consistent heat. The contract job was a custom job due to also needing to replace the AC system, also 28 years old (original).

The sales staff was professional with their recommendations and discussing a quote for both jobs.

I tend to be a perfectionist being an engineer, so having two systems in our home being replaced was an opportunity for me to be involved in minute detail (cool).

Both systems were installed correctly, operate as expected and passed the Washington County building permit inspection.

We are very happy with the customer service and professionally trained crew they have.
