I've had varying experiences depending on the vet I see with my dog. Admittedly I brought Dr. Erickson a difficult problem when my dog came in with some sort of allergy, but I spent hundreds of dollars on antihistamines and steroids, and could have spent a lot more on expensive diets and flea drugs, when the ultimate problem was a contact allergy to down that I had to eventually sleuth out for myself. Over the course of a few visits, I thought she was abrupt and downplayed my observations about the problem. I would still go back to her with my sick dog, and I believe she has his best interests in mind.

I've also had minor surgery performed on my dog, under the care of a different vet at this practice, and I thought they were caring, compassionate, and wonderful. They followed up about his condition and were willing to discuss treatment alternatives. Also, I felt that their services were reasonably priced compared to other vets around town.

I plan to continue going to AWC in the future.

Pros: Veterinary staff are good at addressing concerns

Cons: Vet is overly focused on selling me veterinary drugs

I am SOOO disgusted with every person who worked for BRIDGECITY VET. Their service was crappy and the botch neuter they did on my poor yem yem cost me tons of $$ and they up and closed down with NO WARNING and never even gave me the results for the bloodpanel that I paid for. They did such a terrible job that I had to go to ANOTHER VET to get anti-biotic perscriptions for my baby. I am sueing the f%(K out of these QUACKS! I wouldn't be as angry if they had actually took the time to call their cliets and tell them that they are closing but no they let people continue to believe that they had appointments still! YOU SHOULD SUUUUE TOO IF THEY SCREWED YOU OVER! Do NOT let them do this to people, there should be standards! If you are looking for an HONEST and RELIABLE vet visit Banfeild Pet Hospital, they CARE!

I have been taking my animals to Bridgecity for 20 years. They have recently closed their doors without any warning. I took my cat in for follow up tests 2 weeks ago and there was a sign on the door with a phone number to call for more information. I have called that number 10 times and noone returns my calls. I have also called the Vet Licensing Board and they cannot help. My cat is on daily meds and now I have to take him to another vet but I can't gain access to any of my animals records. Anyone with any information about how I can retrieve my animals medical records? I would be most appreciative. Thanks.

i have taken my animals to bridge city for over 10 years, they are the best vet hospital i have yet to see. they helped me with my aging Australian Shepard and gave him the best care and quality in his last years with us as well as making his passing as comforting as possible for him as well as our family., they helped me when i got a new dog from a friend who bought the dog at a pet store, she was so sick and almost died, she had no immune system, they helped all of my animals. my mother in law has gone to them for years and i highly recommend them. i could never agree with anyone who says they are not the very best vet hospital there is...

All 3 of my pets have attended this office for the past couple of years. I have two cats and one dog. I personally don't think their exams are thorough. First, they informed my boyfriend that my cat has gingivitis and didn't even recommend anything to cure it. Secondly, with this whole cat food recall ordeal, I wanted to make sure I bought something that was healthy and most likely not going to harm them. While at the grocery store, I called them to ask if the vet had any recommendations cause my co-workers vet recommended Friskies if wet food was to be continued. I wanted a 2nd opinion. Amy took my call and informed me they weren't making any recommendations. I was to take it up with the people who produces the food! Yeah, like I'm gonna call manufacturers to see what they think is best for my pets!! Then I asked again so the doctor doesn't have any recommendations, any healthy brands that works best as a substitute & she named off a few brands & said those brands were on the recall list!!! I told her I was not impressed and cancelled all 3 appts I scheduled for a couple days out! Oh and I can't forget in the past they said wet food was alright for their digestion & moisture since cats are bad about drinking water but it's not too good for their teeth. I told either the vet or the tech that I fed my cats meow mix the wet food. She didn't say anything. Come ti find out when my friend asked her vet if meow mix wet food was okay, he said no cause it produces crystals in their stomach!!! The only reason I give them a 2 is cause a couple visits were fine.

Dr. Kim Boothe is the best vet I have been to in the last 15 yrs. She is friendly, knowledgable, extremely articulate and very experienced in veterinary medicine, yet quite humble & understated about her skills and acumen. My advice is to listen well to this female veterinarian, 'cuz she may teach you a lot!! She may even save your animal's life, as she did for me when I first went to see her with a puppy!

While she may appear to be a little reserved at first (i think she may be a little shy perhaps?)with people, she has incredible warmth & an obvious connection with all 4-legged creatures. My dogs go n-u-t-s with excitement when they get to the door of her veterinary clinic. I have moved with this vet because I trust her, and my doggies a-d-o-r-e her!!! Go figure, eh?! They LOVE THE VET??!! Crazy, but true!!!

Most importantly, she is incredibly sensible, kind, and fascinated and highly knowledgable about how animals behave, how they think and why they do what they do. She understands and can explain to us doggie and kitty "parents" what the animal is really trying to tell us....She is well-educated on the actions of both cats and dogs and what their body language means, and understands this important (but often neglected) body of knowledge extremely well. From my personal experience (and from talking to certified professional dog trainers) this is a unique interest and rare phenomenom amongst vets.

Her personal philosophies of "no *ill" veterinary clinics (some clinics routinely allow euthanizing defenseless animals unnecessarily because the patient's human is unable to afford basic medical care) is impressive, and compassionate. Dr. Boothe is one of those rare docs who really got into the medical profession for the right reason. That is to form lasting and real relationships with people and animals, and thus provide better care. She truly gets to understand and know what is normal vs. abnormal behaviour or symptoms for your animal, and therefore is able to give prudent, evidence-based medical care & advice throughout your animal's life. Today, there are so many "for profit" veterinary corporate organizations (read: veterinary clinics that are corporately owned) that mandates vets see whatever patient walk thru the door and is "available" which negates a doctor truly getting to know the quirks and foilbles of your "fur baby". I love this vet, and highly recommend her. I show my dogs in AKC all breed shows in conformation, and am very interested and involved in obedience training, and am learning about various other dog/human activities like rally, tracking, and such...
