I found a truck I really liked at this car lot upon test driving the vehicle I noticed its transmission was not shifting properly on the interstate. I brought the vehicle back to the lot and told the owner about this. He then told me that each vehicle had a very good warranty that was good for 3 months or 3,000 miles n that it covered every possible problem that may occur w/ the engine, transmission, and drive train. So I decided to purchase the truck. Two weeks after buying the vehicle it started 2 run hot. I had it checked out n found the head gasket was eaten up w/ rust that was in the motor due to someone being to cheap or to stupid to put anti freeze n the radiator. Instead it was only water which over several years began to rust n get corrosion. I contacted warranty n found a reputable mechanic to perform the work. Well it took approximately two weeks just to settle with warranty. They only pay maximum of 1500$ wether it is a motor engine or head gasket. The head gasket and labor alone would have used the warranty money up n probably some out of pocket. After talking to several mechanics n researching it on the net I decided it would b best to go ahead n replace the motor and all cooling system components (raditaor, water pump and gasket, thermostat n gasket and head gasket). I myself and my family are experianced w/ mechanic work. I got the lowest priced remanufactured engine I could find w/ a decent warranty of 36,000 miles or 3 years. The truck has been in the shop for tw0 weeks just fighting with warranty company to approve the release of the 1400$ with 100$ deductable. The total cost of the motor change including parts and labor is 4600$ minus the 1400$ the warranty paid leaving me with 3200$ out of pocket. The warranty didn't want to pay at first b/c they claimed that the motor n head gasket failed due to improper maintanance. I don't dispute this at all however it was nothing I had control over I just purchased the vehicle two weeks ago n the radiator n motor didn't accumulate that rust n that amount of time. Eventually after threats of lawsuits n other arguments warranty paid maximum amout of 1400$ I am still in the process of getting my truck fixed it has spent more time in the shop then it has at my house. So if u do find something you like at this car lot I would definately recommend having a reputable mechanic check it out oh n fyi he uses the one next door to him. So I also would suggest finding someone other then his buddy to look at ur vehicle and also read all the fine print in the warranty before you buy your vehicle and potentially make the same mistakes that I did. I don't know that all of his vehicles are in the shape that mine was but I was/am very dissatisfied with the vehicle and warranty I bought from arabi and am writing this to save all of you some very costly repairs if you are looking at something he has please take it from me have it checked out by a reputable mechanic before you proceed to buy it n if he throughs his special warranty at you also take the time to fully read it and have someone else look it over as well. Because 1500$ max does not go far at all on a vehicle the is as bad off as mine was!!!
